Rebecca Daugherty to Head ABC Marketing

Rebecca Daugherty has been named executive vice president of marketing at ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios. In her new position, Daugherty will oversee marketing for ABC's primetime, daytime and late-night lineups as well as for shows produced by ABC Studios and distributed domestically and internationally on ABC and other third-party platforms.

"As a leader in an industry filled with creative superstars, Becky has been at the center of many of ABC's most successful and memorable marketing campaigns," said Channing Dungey, president, ABC Entertainment, in a statement. "She's a gifted innovator whose keen ability to showcase our programs and talent across multiple platforms is especially assuring as we lead the charge into an exciting new season ahead."

Daugherty previously was vice president, dramas, movies and specials at ABC Entertainment Marketing. During her time at ABC, she has launched and marketed such series as Scandal, Revenge, Once Upon a Time, How to Get Away with Murder, Quantico and Designated Survivor, among others. She and her team were responsible for the creation and execution of the network's TGIT campaign around its drama block created and executive produced by Shonda Rhimes. She also has overseen campaigns for many network specials, including the Oscars. Daugherty came to ABC from Fox.

As part of Daugherty's team, Erin Weir has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing strategy at ABC Entertainment, while Jill Gershman has been named senior vice president, marketing creative, ABC Entertainment. Weir will oversee the teams responsible for executing ABC Entertainment's on-air and off-air, digital and social marketing for primetime, daytime and late-night.

Gershman has been named to a newly created role through which she will oversee the teams for ABC's on- and off-air creative marketing. That includes managing the ABC brand while delivering innovative concepts, campaigns and content across multiple platforms and business units.

Meanwhile, Steve Bushong will continue in his role as senior vice president, marketing operations, and Gary Shanas, will stay as vice president, media strategy and planning.

Weir moves up from vice president, marketing strategy, ABC Entertainment Group. Prior to that, she had been executive director, marketing, ABC Daytime, since April 2009, where she was responsible for marketing strategy, partnerships and promotions across all daytime programs. She began her career at The Company in 2006 managing promotions, partnerships and events at the SOAPnet cable network.

Prior to joining , Weir worked at Focus Features in promotions and publicity.

Gershman has been vice president, entertainment marketing, comedy and alternative series, ABC Entertainment Group, since 2007, charged with leading, directing and managing all on-air marketing for over 30 comedy and alternative programs annually.

She rejoined ABC Entertainment Marketing in 2005 as vice president, alternative series, specials and late Night. She started at ABC Entertainment in 1997 as executive director, TGIF/Branding Factory, on-air promotion, before being promoted to the role of vice president/creative director, on-air promotion, in 1999.

Prior to joining ABC, Gershman worked as an independent producer. She began her career with Lifetime Television in 1991.
