VILLAGE & COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER of Alstonefield, Butterton, Elkstones, Ilam, and Wetton “Welcome to a new Front Page”. Now that the ‘Benefice Changes’ are in place this Newsletter is no longer a ‘Benefice’ related publication but is now a ‘Village & Community Newsletter’. It is hoped that it can continue to be produced ‘Free of Charge’ and that adverts placed inside along with ‘Voluntary Contributions’ for certain items will cover the cost of printing. There will be no intent to make any profit from producing the Newsletter and the actual compilation, arranging, typing & distribution will all continue on a volunteer basis.

All the present contributors are most welcome to continue to send in any items they wish, ‘the more the merrier’ in fact, the only change is that any Church Service taking place will now be published under the heading of the Village relevant to that service. So check each village that you want to visit for a Service. Any other Church information regarding Christenings, Weddings & Funerals will also be presented under the relevant Village heading.

Hopefully all the regular items relating to Events, Meetings, Wakes, Concerts, Schools etc. will continue to appear along with a “Thought for the Month” item from a guest contributor free of charge. As with the previous magazine all private adverts and fund raising events not relating to a Church, Village Hall, School, Village Social Group, W.I’s, History Groups etc. would require a contribution to ensure the continuance of the magazine.

Although A4 Full Page items have been produced in previous editions it is hoped to use them less and instead print any detail required inside the Newsletter, again to help keep printing costs down. To this end the donation for any A4 Poster asked for will now need to be £16.00

Please understand that hard copy distribution of the newsletter will hopefully still continue in Alstonefield, Butterton, Ecton, Elkstones, Warslow & Wetton. It is also ‘delivered’ via email to approximately 150 contacts and if anyone wishes to receive it this way please advise the editor accordingly (email is a good way of negating print costs!).

It is very important to note that if any of the named villages cannot find volunteers to distribute the printed off Newsletter then that village will lose its link with the others for local news/events etc.

For clarification the ‘new’ CHURCH grouping is: Alstonefield, Wetton & Ilam Butterton with Ipstones Benefice Warslow and Elkstones with Longnor Benefice Editorial (formerly ‘From the Churchwardens’) Clearly the current newsletter cannot continue in its
