Glenmoor &Winton Weekly News Issue 1

Principal’s Message

I am really excited to introduce the Academies’ inaugural weekly newsletter which aims to celebrate all that is happening at Glenmoor and Winton. It has been a great half term with all students focused and committed in lessons as well as continuing to demonstrate a mature and polite approach across the site. Year 11 have eleven teaching weeks left before the start of their GCSE summer exams. They continue to demonstrate a fantastic attitude towards their studies and I urge all parents and carers to support their son/daughter in the coming months. Revision, revision, revision. Start now with a revision timetable and it becomes so much easier as you approach the exams. Congratulations to all those students who attended the top 25 progress afternoons at the beginning of the year. It was lovely to see so many parents and students celebrating achievement together and this will form part of a number of new events launched across the Academies to acknowledge those students ‘who keep getting it right’. This half term has seen parent consultation evenings for years 11 & 9 as well as the Year 8 GCSE options evenings at both Academies this week. It was fantastic to see so many parents and carers at the evenings that have taken place. I hope you find this newsletter informative and if you have any news you feel is deserving of being included please contact either myself or Deborah Hawkins at the Academies. Best wishes, Ben Antell Principal Poetry By Heart Success Dates for your diary
