Please remember in prayer

In the world: • All Christian churches, especially those working to share the Good News of Christ in difficult situations and in the face of persecution. • Inter-faith dialogue, giving thanks for all situations where those of different faiths work together for peace, respect and the good of their communities. • All who are persecuted for being different – for their race, colour, religion, gender or sexuality. Help us to respect others for who they are as individuals, avoiding labels and stereotypes.

In the community and society: • All those who are contracting Covid-19 in this recent rise in cases, for those who look after them, whether at home, through local surgeries or in hospital. • That we may have the patience and thoughtfulness to keep to the guidance we are given, for the good of all members of our communities.

The sick: Richard Hanmer; Kathy Cheesmond; Liza Grenfell, Bill Read, Jenny Wilkins.

THE DEPARTED: Gerald Turpin (Andrew, Adrian, and their families); Dennis France; Liza Grenfell Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon them.

Please let Anna know if you would like anyone included in the prayers – [email protected]

Anna at home – correction! Apologies – major blunder. ‘At home’ will be each Wednesday As life gets busy again, and I am out and about more, I realise that it is not always easy for people to catch me. So, I am going to be ‘at home’ each Wednesday, between 10.30 and 12.00, so that you can ring up or call by, and find me ‘at home’. The coffee pot will be on. (Occasionally I may need to be elsewhere, so check the Pew Sheet before you set out). Saints and Souls – the season of remembrance

Sunday 1st November celebration of St Andrew & All Saints: 10.00 at Boothby Pagnell. During this service we will be ‘swearing in’ the Churchwardens for 2020- 2021, and celebrating their valuable role within our communities.

Monday 2nd November – All Souls: On 2nd November each year, the church remembers all those who have gone ahead of us into the light and joy of heaven. In other words, all their souls. There will be a special service, for all the parishes, on Monday 2nd November, at 7 pm, at Ingoldsby Church. Everyone is welcome to attend, and we will remember our loved ones by name, and through the lighting of candles. You can add your loved one’s name to the list in advance, by dropping a note into the Rectory, 30 High Street, Ropsley, or via email to [email protected]; or you can do so before the service, when you arrive at church. In this extraordinary year we will also remember all those who have died as a result of Covid-19.

LIGHT A CANDLE AT ALL SOULS – 2nd Nov If you are not able to attend the service at Ingoldsby on All Souls, you might like to light a candle at home and place it in your window on All Souls evening, to remember those you have lost, and show solidarity with those who are bereaved across the nation and the world.

Sunday 8th November – Remembrance Sunday ROPSLEY 10.30 Ropsley Green – short Service of Remembrance 11.00 Ropsley War Memorial - Act of Remembrance and Laying of Wreaths.

Lenton 10.45 Service of Remembrance, including the Act of Remembrance from the Cenotaph
