PEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION MALAY ACTIVITY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEES COUNCIL (MESRA) ENGAGES MALAY/MUSLIM GRASSROOTS VOLUNTEERS AND PARTNERS IN FIVE POST- BUDGET 2018 DIALOGUES

The People’s Association (PA) Malay Activity Executive Committees Council (MESRA) will be organising five Post-Budget Dialogues this year instead of the usual single session in the past years. The decentralised and smaller scale dialogues will enable more grassroots volunteers and partners to share their opinions and feedback on Budget 2018, as well as have more quality conversations with the panellists. Through the sharing and discussions, participants could also better understand the various budget measures, so that they can better communicate these messages to their residents. Details of the sessions are as follows:

2 About 550 Malay grassroots volunteers from the Malay Activity Executive Committees and other grassroots organisations as well as representatives from various community partners including mosques and institutes of higher learning will attend the five dialogues.

MESRA is the co-ordinating council of the Malay Activity Executive Committees (MAECs) which aims to guide the MAECs in engaging the community through a wide range of outreach programmes, assist the MAECs and other grassroots organisations to identify and recruit suitable Malay grassroots leaders and to facilitate collaboration between MAECs and other grassroots organisations and the larger community.
