Tom Ross introduced himself to the group as the new Director of CCJJ.

Elizabeth Klc shared the rules and regulations for the 2021 Legislative Session. Discussion followed with questions and concerns.

Agenda Item Review of 2021 Legislative Session Bills Notes H.B. 11 – Department of Human Services Budgetary Procedures Amendment (Norman Thurston) Motion: Santiago Cortez made a motion to Hold H.B.11. The motion was seconded by Dennis Cecchini and passed unanimously.

H.B 15 – Controlled Substance Amendments (Ray Ward) Motion: Santiago Cortez made a motion to Support H.B.15. The motion was seconded by Rob Timmerman and passed unanimously.

H.B. 20 – Driving Under the Influence Sentencing Amendments () Motion: Carlene Walker made a motion to Hold H.B.20. The motion was seconded by Margaret Olson and passed unanimously.

H.B. 22 – Medical Examiner Amendments () Motion: Santiago Cortez made a motion that H.B. 22 is Beyond Scope. The motion was seconded by Tom Ross and passed unanimously.

H.B. 25 – Mental Health Protections for First Responders () Motion: Kim Meyers made a motion to Support H.B.25. The motion was seconded by Santiago Cortez and passed unanimously.

H.B. 26 – 24/7 Sobriety Program Expansion () Motion: Kim Gibbs made a motion to Support position on H.B.26. The motion was seconded by Carlene Walker and passed unanimously.

H.B. 34 – Medical Respite Care Pilot Program (Jim Dunnigan) Motion: Santiago Cortez made a motion to Hold H.B. 34. The motion was seconded by Rob Wesemann and passed unanimously.

S.B. 27 – Physician Assistant Act Amendments (Curtis Bramble/Jim Dunnigan) Motion: Mark Foote made a motion to Oppose S.B. 28. The motion was seconded by Karen Buchi and passed unanimously.

S.B. 28 – Physician Assistant Mental Health Practice Amendments (Curtis Bramble/Jim Dunnigan Motion: Brent Kelsey made a motion to Oppose S.B. 28. The motion was seconded by Kim Meyers with suggestion to meeting with the sponsor to get additional statistics on prescribing practice.

S.B. 39 – Hemp Regulation Amendments (David Hinkins/Jen Dailey-Provost) Motion: Rob Timmerman made a motion to Support in Concept S.B. 39. The motion was seconded by Eric Tadehara and passed unanimously.

S.B 41 – Mental Health Access Amendments (Luz Escamilla/) Motion: Kim Meyers made a motion to Support S.B. 41. The motion was seconded by Eric Tadehara and passed unanimously.
