Player substitutions may be made on any whistle or stoppage of play. All players must play at least ½ of the game time, and no player may play the entire game unless everyone else has played at least ¾ of the game. 10. Coaches should ensure that over the course of the season, all players have equal bench time. 11. No backcourt violations are called. 12. There is no full court or half court pressing. Behind the half court line within the backcourt is a “safe zone”, even after the ball has advanced into the forecourt, it may be passed back to a player behind that line and the defense must back off. Players may pick up the defense no closer than at the top of the line extended I their defensive end. 13. One team gets the ball to start the game the opposing team will get the ball to start the second half; all other jump situations use possession arrow. 14. will not be called, but the referee/coach will talk to the players and explain the rule, with the same player in possession of the ball. 15. will be called by the referee/coach; stopping play to explain proper techniques to players, with play resuming at the spot of the infraction with the same player in possession of the ball. 16. Three second violations will not be called at this level. 17. All fouls are possession fouls. There is no fouling out in this division, however coaches should do their best to control players who are fouling excessively and/or playing too physically. 18. “NO GRAB RULE”: A defensive player cannot grab or slap the ball from a player holding it or it off the dribble. STEALING the ball is allowed only on a pass attempt. The referee/coach will explain this rule and return the ball to the player who had possession of the ball last.

REMEMBER: This is a “Recreational” League and it stresses sportsmanship and the fundamentals of the game. Let’s keep it instructional and fun for all of the kids!
