Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Dato’ Sri , berkata walaupun pelaburan Jepun yang bermula lebih 40 tahun lalu awalnya lebih tertumpu kepada sektor pembuatan berikutan kos gaji yang murah, jumlah pelaburan baharu dari negara itu kekal tinggi sekalipun faktor gaji murah bukan lagi tarikan utama pelabur untuk datang ke Malaysia. “ Beliau berkata, berbanding sektor pembuatan yang kekal DRIVING penting, Malaysia kini ingin menarik lebih banyak pelaburan dalam bidang perkhidmatan dari Jepun, khususnya di sektor baharu seperti teknologi maklumat (IT), penjagaan kesihatan, pelancongan dan “Berbanding perbankan. Dalam pada itu, Mustapa menjelaskan Malaysia turut menjadi penjagaan kesihatan tumpuan syarikat Jepun untuk mendapatkan pensijilan halal, yang mana 28 syarikat negara itu sudah mendapat sijil pengiktirafan halal Jabatan pelancongan dan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM). Beliau berkata, tahun ini sahaja sejumlah 15 syarikat sudah perbankan” mendapatkan pensijilan halal berkenaan, yang mana ia adalah peningkatan ketara berbanding masing-masing empat dan lima syarikat pada tahun 2012 dan tahun lalu. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan “Malah, kita juga sudah menubuhkan badan perundingan khas di Industri Malaysia Jepun untuk membantu syarikat negara itu mendapatkan pensijilan halal Jakim,” katanya.
