Wxw Holds Keynote on Wxw NOW Streaming
wXw holds keynote on wXw NOW streaming service, announces details on Germany's first wrestling network wXw just announced the first in-depth details on our new "wXw NOW" streaming network, which will launch one month from now on 8/13 at www.wxwnow.de. It will not just be a collection of shows like a lot of companies offer for a monthly fee via Pivotshare but also offer original content and a lot of archived shows, some dating back as far as 2006. We will also have our uniquely designed interface/UI, while hosting and infrastructure will be managed by Vimeo, our long-time streaming partner, dating back to 2013. Wrestling journalist Markus Gronemann (DarkMat.eu, Wrestling Observer) considers this to be the biggest launch of an over-the-top pro wrestling channel by a single promotion since New Japan World. wXw Managing Director Christian Jakobi held a keynote presentation tonight at 8 pm CEST at the wXw Wrestling Academy training school, which was streamed live on Facebook (the video is available, albeit only in German, here) and talked about what future and past events and what kind of original content would be available. We had up to 750 viewers simultaneously on Facebook and also had some students and a trainer (Toby Blunt) in attendance to provide some crowd noise and cheering at key points during the announcement. Marquee Events are wXw's version of pay-per-view caliber shows, where feuds start and end and international talent often appears. There currently are 10 marquee events on the calendar, with some of them being multi-day shows: -

The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde by David Edmondson
The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde By David Edmondson D-LAB FILMS First Draft July 2012 Second Draft August 2012 Third Draft August 2012 EXT. TEXAS HIGHWAY--NIGHT Pitch black night broken by the headlight of a 1932 Ford V8 Coupe screaming down a secluded Texas highway. INT. FORD--CONTINUED Three people are crammed into the small Ford along with an arsenal. In the back seat W.D. JONES (17) he is curled asleep on the back bench. In the front seat BONNIE PARKER (22) is asleep on the shoulder of her lover CLYDE BARROW (23) who is driving at near light speed. The Ford’s headlights dimly light the road making it truly hard to see what is out there. Clyde passes a bridge out sign. Suddenly... EXT. BRIDGE--CONTINUED the Ford crashes through the road block--it instantly launched into the air. It comes smashing down rolling three times--the Ford is destroyed but standing upright. The Ford’s fuel line has become split--it is leaking fuel. The cable has come loose from the battery. All three passengers are knocked out. Clyde first to awake gets out of the car--blood running down his nose. He stumbles around trying to gain conciseness. He pulls W.D. out from the wreckage--returning to get Bonnie next. W.D. awakens--he is at Clyde’s side helping to pull Bonnie from the car. Then... a spark from the loose battery cord starts a fire. Flames begin to cover the hood. W.D. starts to kick dirt on the fire--it doesn’t help. -

Cubed Circle Newsletter 179 – Wrestlemania Weekend 2015
Cubed Circle Newsletter 179 – WrestleMania Weekend 2015 We didn't have an issue last week due to WrestleMania Weekend, and our preparation for various events. However, we are back this week for what will be, behind the yearbook, most likely our biggest issue of the year covering not only WrestleMania 31, but also all the WWN Live shows (excluding Kaiju), the Hall of Fame, last week's RAW and NXT, Balor/Owens, the post-Mania RAW, terrific ratings, and more! It was the happiest time of the year – WrestleMania Weekend. – Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor WrestleMania 31: A Classic Show? Not Really. Ryan Clingman. It seems strangely apropos that the most important piece of build on this year's Road to WrestleMania took place not in a medium governed by the pens of creative, or even exclusively by the whims of Vince McMahon, but rather through the contract negotiations between the aforementioned VKM and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. With Mania excitement as low as it has been in years, perhaps decades the WrestleMania 31 outlook was far from positive – a reality further compounded by what seemed to be the inevitable departure of Brock Lesnar for a second run with the UFC. Whilst Creative was not remedied during the final week's build, nor may it be recovering a week on from the year's biggest show, last week's breaking news of Lesnar re-signing with the company, soon heated, at least somewhat, a build that had been fast approaching absolute zero. No longer, as in WrestleManias over the past five years, was this show's closing image predictable – the opposite was the case, in fact, as many a possibility involving Lesnar, the heel who was over like a God, Reigns, who was hated by the majority, and Seth Rollins, the Money in the Bank briefcase holder with respect from the hardcore fanbase – were possible. -

The myth of the unbeatable fighter is just that, a myth. In what will go down as the single most memorable UFC fight in history, Ronda Rousey was not only defeated, but systematically destroyed by a fighter and a coaching staff that had spent years preparing for that night. On 2/28, Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey were the two co-headliners on a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The idea was that Holm, a former world boxing champion, would impressively knock out Raquel Pennington, a .500 level fighter who was known for exchanging blows and not taking her down. Rousey was there to face Cat Zingano, a fight that was supposed to be the hardest one of her career. Holm looked unimpressive, barely squeaking by in a split decision. Rousey beat Zingano with an armbar in 14 seconds. -

2014 was a unique year for pro-wrestling, one that will undoubtedly be viewed as historically significant in years to follow. Whether it is to be reflected upon positively or negatively is not only highly subjective, but also context-specific with major occurrences transpiring across the pro-wrestling world over the last 12 months, each with its own strong, and at times far reaching, consequences. The WWE launched its much awaited Network, New Japan continued to expand, CMLL booked lucha's biggest match in well over a decade, culminating in the country's first million dollar gate, TNA teetered more precariously on the brink of death than perhaps ever before, Daniel Bryan won the WWE's top prize, Dragon Gate and DDT saw continued success before their loyal niche audiences, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk departed the WWE with one ending up in the most unexpected of places, a developing and divergent style produced some of the best indie matches of the year, the European scene flourished, the Shield disbanded, Batista returned, Daniel Bryan relinquished his championship, and the Undertaker's streak came to an unexpected and dramatic end. These are but some of the happenings, which made 2014 the year that it was, and it is in this year-book that we look to not only recap all of these events and more, but also contemplate their relevance to the greater pro-wrestling landscape, both for 2015 and beyond. It should be stated that this year-book was inspired by the DKP Annuals that were released in 2011 and 2012, in fact, it was the absence of a 2013 annual that inspired us to produce a year-book for 2014. -
I'm Calling About the Neighbors
I’m Calling About the Neighbors April, 1933; Joplin, Mo. Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker had been on a year-long crime spree ever since Clyde was paroled from the Eastham Prison Farm in Texas in February, 1932. Clyde had vowed revenge against the Eastham Prison Farm for the abuse he had endured while he had been locked up, and was planning a raid to free all the prisoners. The gang mostly robbed small town stores and gas stations, stealing cars to make their way from state to state ahead of the police (in the 1930’s police jurisdictions ended at state lines, so if a criminal could make it across into another state, the police could not follow). The gang had originally been Bonnie, Clyde and Ralph Fuchs, but Ralph and Bonnie had been arrested in a botched robbery, and Ralph was sent away for a long stretch - he never rejoined the gang. Bonnie was released after only a few months. in April of 1932, the gang shot and killed J.N. Bucher, and Clyde was accused of murder for the first time. A string of further robberies and murders occurred, including both lawmen and the innocent, totaling five victims between April and the end of the year. W.D.. Williams, only 16 years old, joined the gang in December, 1932. Marvin “Buck” Barrows was released from prison in March 1933.He picked up his wife Blanche and her dog Snowball, and joined Clyde, hoping to talk him out of his life of crime. Instead, Clyde convinced Buck to join them in a “war of Liberation” against Eastham Prison Farm.
