A Public Meeting held at The village Hall on Thursday 9th August at 7pm

The meeting was called and arranged by Councillor Dana Davies in response to urgent requests by residents.

Chaired by Dana Davies, guests were: Police Inspector: Steve Owens; PCSO: Steve Bellis and WCBC Housing Enforcement Officer: Robert Jesson.

All questions were listened to whether expressed in anger, frustration, worry or real fear at some of the recent and ongoing events in the village.

These issues of speeding, drugs, anti-social and criminal behaviour appeared to many as being out of control and unresolved, inspite of the constant and helpful reporting by residents.

Most understood the present problem of the lack of police funding; but it was also made clear that a great many residents now feel unsafe and abandoned by the authorities, in place to provide protection.

The outcome of the meeting was that the issues raised would be ‘looked into’; that there would be prosecutions and that follow-up meetings would be introduced and advertised on a regular basis for all residents.
