From Vivaldi to Verdi, Mozart to Mahler, this will be a year of unparalleled musical drama and exultation. The March concert will celebrate new music by CUSO Music Alive Composer– in-Residence Stacy Garrop, as CUSO performs her colorful and engaging Mythology Symphony, a work in which figures of Greek mythology come alive. We will again welcome virtuoso Stefan Milenkovich in Mendelssohn’s incomparable in e minor. The epic Symphony No. 5 of Beethoven will bring this exciting evening to a rousing conclusion!

In the CUSO season finale, our exploration of the symphonies of Gustav Mahler continues with the Symphony No. 1, known as the Titan. This large and heroic work will allow all parts of the orchestra to shine. CUSO will perform Stacy Garrop’s Becoming Medusa. a fascinating movement from the Mythology Symphony. We are also pleased to introduce the phenomenally talented pianist, Sun Chang, in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat.
