Portland, Ore. (May 16, 2011) — A unique partnership between the portable display company PosterGarden and nine of Portland’s most renowned parks and gardens will provide an easy way for locals and visitors to support some of the city’s true treasures.

PosterGarden has designed and produced the Portland Parks & Gardens Trekking Pole, a lightweight, customizable trekking pole that hikers and walkers can use as they explore Portland’s parks and gardens. Net proceeds from the sale of the poles benefit nine participating Portland- area parks and gardens through PosterGarden's Fund for Arts, Culture & Gardens.

“Like a lot of people who live in Portland or visit here, I’ve always been a big fan of our parks and gardens,” said Travis Rigby, CEO of PosterGarden. “This new trekking pole will be a great way for people to get out and really explore these places and support them at the same time.”

The high-quality, adjustable trekking pole is made of sturdy aluminum and features a comfortable, ambidextrous grip, a spring-loaded anti-shock system, a lanyard, and a carbide tungsten tip. The pole can also be customized with a range of optional features, including an LED flashlight grip, a compass, a digital camera mount, a PRO grip for mounting larger cameras or spotting scopes, and various tips and baskets.

The nine parks and gardens who’ve partnered with PosterGarden and who will benefit from the program include: Audubon Society of Portland, Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Forest Park Conservancy, , , Lan Su , , Pittock Mansion, and Washington Park Rose Garden.
