Italian NCO Spotlight

By Col. Angelo Piccillo

CMSgt. Silvio Iadanza joined the Italian Air Force in 1975 and right from the start, distinguished himself for the dedication put into his job.

In 1987 he obtained the prestigious assignment to Sheppard AFB, Texas, as Admin Specialist of the Italian National Support Unit (NSU). In a short period, CMSgt. Iadanza fully took charge of the new job deserving, once again, a special recognition from his Chief. In 1991 he received the Honorary Citizenship from the Governor of Texas. Back in Italy, Silvio was assigned to the Supreme Training Command Headquarters Personnel Office in Rome, where he was responsible for the personal folders of over 6,000 personnel.

Subsequently he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia for two years, where he served as Chief Air Forward Admin Office and Commander General Personal Assistant.
