GRAMPOUND ROAD

Grampound Road is a thriving village in the parishes of Probus and , with a station on the Cornwall railway (Great Western), about 7½ miles north-east from and about the same distance north-west from and 293 from ; it is in the county court district of St Austell. Cattle markets, held here on the fourth Monday in each month, are very numerously attended; there is also an extensive show of fat cattle annually, about a fortnight before Christmas, and a horse show is held here in March. Here is a chapel of ease. There is a chapel for Wesleyans here. A reading room has been opened here with a supply of the London and local papers, and is supported by subscription.
