The fees for rental phones vary and usually consist of the rental fee (typically 250-1000 yen per day) plus a usage fee (typically 70-200 yen per minute domestic outgoing, incoming calls are free). ● Credit Card – Not all Restaurant /shops is acceptable by Credit. It is recommended to carry some cash at all times for restaurants, subway and other things that you may not be able to use credit cards for.

● Getting Cash from ATMs in Japan – Most banks in Japan only accept Japanese credit cards – exceptions are Citibank and ATM machines in Post offices.. ● Tipping – You do not tip in Japan at all. ● Transportation – Taxis are slow (due to traffic) and expensive...the subway is a great way to get around the city...the hotel can provide you with a subway map. Typically it is about 160 yen for short one way subway trips (more if you change lines). More information on the next page. ● Power – 100V – A-type Plug – The plugs in Japan are just like those in the US, but tend to only be two prong...bring an adapter to plug in three prong plugs. ● Time Zone – GMT+9hours
