NEWSLETTER TERM 3 2017 MEDWAY SCHOOLS ATTEND SCHOOL GAMES FINALS Following the local Mini Youth Games, Games and Games events in Medway, several schools were able to qualify to represent Greenacre Sports Partnership in the Kent School Games Finals. The Kent School Games, winter events, were once again held at Medway Park in February and consisted of the following sports: • Handball • Primary Sportshall Athletics • Secondary Sportshall Athletics • Rowing • Badminton • Basketball The schools that represented GSP were: • Handball: Greenacre and St John Fisher • Primary Sportshall Athletics: St Andrews Handball Champions: U13’s • Secondary Sportshall Athletics: Greenacre Academy and Walderslade Girls • Rowing: Greenacre Academy • Basketball: St Marys Island A big congratulations to all the Greenacre Sports Partnership schools who represented Medway at the Kent School Games. Especially to Greenacre Academy who qualified through to the South East Handball Competition in May and will also be attending the National Rowing Competition in March. Greenacre Academy Yr 7 Rowing Champions Greenacre Academy Yr 9 Rowing Champions REMINDER: GSP PE & SPORTS CONFERENCE 2017 All head teachers, primary sports coordinators, secondary PE teachers and Governors representing PE are invited to attend the Greenacre Sports Partnership’s PE & Sports Conference on Tuesday 16th May 2017 at Greenacre Academy. Further details will soon be sent to all schools, but the day will consist of workshops on Inclusive PE, Active Maths, Healthy Schools & National Updates from the Association of PE (AfPE).
