RESEARCH/JOB EXPERIENCE:

Teaching Assistant of Human Biology Lab at Angelo State University August 2012-Present - Responsible for the education and instruction of over 100 students, instructing the students across a wide variety of biological topics, including cell biology, evolution, organismal biology, ecology, and human biology.

Curatorial Graduate Assistant- Angelo State University Herbarium January 2011-August 2012 - Responsible for management of Specify database for more than 75,000 botanical specimens, with responsibilities varying from maintenance and damage control. Furthermore, many curatorial tasks were performed on a daily basis, including mounting, cataloguing and filing back of new specimens.

Instructor of General Biology Lab at Cameron University August 2009-December 2010 - Responsible for establishing reachable goals for more than 150 students across nine sessions of general biology lab. Instructing the students across a wide variety of

~ 1 ~ biological topics, including cell biology, evolution, organismal biology, ecology, and much more. - Providing thorough feedback on their advancement throughout the course, ensuring that the students are aware of their standings in the course and what they can do to improve if necessary.

Biological Technician at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge June 2009- December 2009; May 2010- August 2010 - Utilizing Trimble units containing ArcMap, I was responsible for the accurate and precise naming of over 2000 polygons with correct vegetative association nomenclature as established by Dr. Bruce Hoagland. - Also responsible for inputting this information into ArcGIS more than proficiently. I also instructed several other members of my team on how to utilize such software correctly both in the field and within the office.

Research Assistant at Cameron University May 2008-July 2008, August- Sept. 2009 - Responsible for plant identification and data entry for more than 1800 specimens donated by the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge to be entered into the Cameron University Herbarium. - Became familiar with Specify, software used for database entries and maintenance of the specimens; utilized several scientific resources and dichotomous keys in order to verify specimens were identified correctly to species.
