FIM & World Championships - Changes to the 2010 Regulations -

The Motocross/SuperMoto Grand Prix Commission, composed of Mr Wolfgang Srb, President of the CMS/FIM, Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream, and Takanao Tsubouchi, MSMA Secretary General, in a meeting in Salzburg (Austria), on December 3, unanimously decided the following changes to the 2010 Regulations.

General  The use of - handlebars made from carbon, Kevlar or any other composites material - electric/electronic controlled suspension is not authorised in the competitions of Motocross (including , Supercross, SuperMoto, FreeStyle, Snowcross and Quads).

Motocross  The "Race Direction" (Event Management, Race Direction, FIM Stewards Panel) which has been implemented in the FIM MX1, MX2, Women's Motocross, FIM Motocoross of Nations, FIM Veteran Motocross , FIM SuperMoto and FIM SuperMoto of Nations as of 1.01.2008 (See FIM Press Release dated 25.10.2007) will now also be used in the FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship. However, in the case of the MX3 class, the FIM Stewards Panel will consist of one FIM Chief Steward and one FMNR Steward only.

 The time schedules of FIM MX1, MX2 and MX3 World Championship events will be slighty adjusted.

SuperMoto  The recognised class for the FIM SuperMoto World Championship and FIM SuperMoto of Nations (the 3 riders of each national team) is the S1 class ( of Cat. I, Group A1, over 175cc up to 250cc for 2-stroke engines and over 290cc up to 450cc for 4-stroke engines).

 A maximum of 32 entries will be accepted at each round of the FIM SuperMoto World Championship.

 Each round of the FIM SuperMoto World Championship will count 3 races. The starting positions will be determined as follows: - For Race 1: according to time practise and SuperPole - For Race 2: according to the results of Race 1 - For Race 3: according to the results of race 2.

 At each round, the riders will be authorised to use a maximum of 6 tyres from the official tyre supplier (one compound for dry and one compound for wet races).

 The time schedule of FIM S1 World Championship events will be adjusted to the new race format. ------About FIM FIM (WWW.FIM-LIVE.COM), the world governing body for , is an independent association formed by 98 National Federations throughout the world.
