We were taken 25m underground on a twenty-five minute tour through part of the tunnels that were built by New Zealand troops during the First World War. It was amazing to see how the 20,000 soldiers who lived in the tunnels functioned on a daily basis. In the evening we drove to the Notre Dame de Lorette cemetery near Arras.
