From City staff presentation regarding the conservation of the Ontario Reformatory CHL and related cultural heritage resources February 8, 2021 The former Turf-grass institute was designed by noted Guelph Architect Karl Briestensky on a prominent rise off Victoria Road South. Prior to the Turf-grass Institute, this was the location of the former OR’s prison farm orchards and this prominent location affords a dramatic view corridor of Guelph’s downtown. The Frost building has been designed with a direct line of sight towards the Basilica Church of Our Lady and Catholic hill. In the past the Frost building has been suggested for inclusion on the Heritage registry by Heritage Guelph
