PROLOGUE The realism of President Muhammadu Buhari

few months into the administration following the epochal 2015 election, President Muhammadu Buhari surprised friend and foe by recanting some of the promises in the APC manifesto. He would rather stand by a new set of limited promises based on a clearer reading of Athe situation in the country. Four years later, the realism of PMB has delivered significant and substantial projects without the high-octane buzz of what would have been failed promises.

PMB has since led the Federal Government on a journey of “steady and sustainable progress”.

Rather than a tall list of dreams, the PMB-led Federal Government concentrated on and delivered key projects in

• Infrastructure renewal and progression – rehabilitation of major highways and trunkroads across the country and the building of new ones. Some of the projects include continuing work on reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and major roads in each of the six geopolitical zones • Reviving the rail tracks of Nigeria. Projects here include completion of the -Kaduna line; Abuja Airport-City Centre line; the new standard gauge Lagos-Ibadan line and the Ajaokuta-Itakpe line • The Energizing Economies Initiative that delivers targetted power projects to provide uninterrupted power to centres of productivity in key markets in Lagos (Sura, Iponri and Shomolu), (Sabon Gari market) and Abia (Ariaria Market) • Project completion rather than embarking on new ones with doubtful outcomes.

A realistic reading of Nigeria’s resource base and availability informed the decision of PMB to prioritise and scale. It is delivering results.

In this publication, you will find the highlights and highpoints of the Buhari administration’s stewardship, and reasons you should return them to office. We also have a list of candidates that our Political Action Committee, Omoluabi United endorses for this election cyle. Many are trusted and tested, while the newcomers bring significant experience, knowledge and promise. PAGE 4 BUILDING BLOCKS OF A NEW NIGERIA FEBRUARY 2019 BAYO OMOBORIOWO

The Yoruba Ancients may not have known what modern Entomologists now know, but something communicated to them the sinister nature of the dragonfly, a vicious pest, parasite and predator in the insect kingdom. That same “something” conveyed the same to other cultures, where Lami-Lami is known as Devil’s Arrow, Devil’s Needle, Horse-Stinger, a companion of serpents and other wicked ilk, plagues of Nature. Being one of the most dexterous flying insects, (that can even cross seas) it symbolises a person that uses his or her considerable talents to execute the worst of selfish and self-serving motives.

All these cannot but remind us of the PDP years.

Hence, the Yorubas say “Alo lami-lami la a ri; enikan kii r’abo o re.” It is the sallying forth of the dragonfly we may observe; none would see its return. This signifies that they never come back. We have seen the back of PDP, may they never return!

For all the pains, tears, deprivation and stagnation through mind-boggling corruption, impunity and crass injustice inflicted on this nation by the PDP, we, the Omoluabi United of the Yoruba Nation, echoing our forebears, say to PDP…

“ALO LAMI-LAMI LA A RI; ENIKAN KII R’ABO RE!!!”
