MARLINS HOST PHILLIES TO START SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON Hansel y Raul Super Saturday Concert To Highlight Four-game Homestand

MIAMI –The Florida Marlins return home to kick off the second half of the season by hosting the in a four-game homestand (July 16- 19) at Land Shark Stadium. The series will feature three fan giveaways, including: Authentic Baseball Bats autographed by Cody Ross as part of Billy Bingo (July 17), Marlins Güiro (July 18), and 2009 Marlins All-Star Poster (July 19).

The homestand will also feature several special events, including: Fish Friday (July 17), Christmas in July (July 17), the Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive (July 17), Marlins New Ballpark Groundbreaking Ceremony (July 18), Super Saturday (July 18), and Family Sunday (July 19).

The homestand against the defending World Champion Phillies begins on Thursday, July 16 at 7:10 p.m. with a re- scheduled game from September 21. All tickets dated for September 21, 2009 will be accepted at the stadium gates.

The series continues on Friday, July 17 at 7:10 p.m. Every Friday is Fish Friday and fans are encouraged to take advantage of the 4 for $54 ticket deal, arrive early to enjoy the Fiesta Latina, and stay after the game for the 10th Inning Party at the Strike Zone. Also, fans can play Billy Bingo and 100 lucky winners will receive and a piece of authentic, autographed memorabilia.

On Super Saturdays, in addition to the popular fan giveaways distributed at the stadium gates, the team will feature the Marlins Mortgage Payout, in which one lucky fan will receive up to $2,500 toward his/her mortgage or rent payment (fans must pre-register at www.marlins.com). Also, as part of the Super Saturday Concert Series, fans will enjoy a Fireworks Spectacular followed by a live concert with Hansel y Raul on July 18.

During Marlins Family Sundays, fans are invited to join the pregame activities at the Strike Zone and enjoy music and entertainment from Radio Disney. Fans can also get a picture taken with a Marlins player as part of Snapshot Sunday. In addition to the kids giveaway, youngsters can the bases in the Diamond Dash after the game.

BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND CHECK PRESENTATION: The Baseball Tomorrow Fund will be on hand presenting a check for $5,000 to the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department in honor of the equipment drive, which will be held on July 17. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is a joint initiative between and the Major League Baseball Players Association. The mission of the Baseball Tomorrow Fund is to promote and enhance the growth of baseball in the United States, Canada and throughout the world by funding programs, fields and equipment purchases to encourage and maintain youth participation in the game.

FISH FRIDAY AUTOGRAPH SIGNING: Select Marlins players will participate in a pregame autographs session from 6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. at the Gate H Strike Zone. Fans of all ages are welcome to participate.

BILLY BINGO: Fans can play Billy Bingo as part of Fish Fridays during the regular season. Every Friday night the first 10,000 fans will receive Billy Bingo cards to be played throughout the game and 100 lucky fans will win premium prizes. CHRISTMAS IN JULY: The Marlins will be hosting the annual Christmas in July at the Gate H Strike Zone. Special appearances by Santa Claus, the Mermaids dressed as Santa’s elves, Manatees as Santa’s helpers along with a snow making machine will light up the event. Also, wrapped presents with Marlins autographed and game-used memorabilia will be available at Marlins Fan HQ in section 146. A limited number of Marlins Santa hats will also be available.

MERMAIDS DANCE CAMP PERFORMANCE: Approximately 50 participants of the official Mermaids Summer Dance Camp will have the opportunity to showcase their newly learned choreographic routines on the field. The Mermaids Summer Dance camp took place July 13 through July 17.

STETSON UNIVERSITY ALUMNI NIGHT: Marlins General Manager Michael Hill will be speaking to a group of Stetson University Alumni prior to the game on the club level. The group will be celebrating a special alumni night at the park.

BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND EQUIPMENT DRIVE: Marlins fans are encouraged to bring new and used baseball equipment to the game in support to those kids who are unable to afford new equipment. The first 200 donors will receive their choice of a card autographed by Hanley Ramirez or . The equipment will be collected at gates F, G and H.

RBI NIGHT AT THE BALLPARK: The Marlins will host participants of the 2009 Florida Marlins RBI Program. Hanley Ramirez will be presenting a check for $20,000 to the Florida Marlins Community Foundation in support of the RBI program. The Girls Softball and Boys Junior Division and Senior Division Baseball All Star teams will be recognized for their participation in the RBI Southeast Regional Tournament during an on-field recognition ceremony. Also, trophies will also be presented to the Junior and Senior Division Wood Bat Tournament Champions. Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball and softball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility. The Florida Marlins and KPMG supply the uniforms, umpires and equipment for these children to play.

FRIDAY NIGHTS ARE FUN: Join the Foundation for Friday Nights Are Fun and Christmas in July! The Florida Marlins Community Foundation hosts a key fundraiser every Friday night during Marlins home games at the Community Corner, section 149. Fans can check out the raffle, silent auction, grab bags, mystery table and other special features. FNAF is open from the time the gates open at 5:30 and continues until the end of the third inning.

LIVE BROADCASTS: La Descarga Deportiva with Jerry del Castillo on WRHC 1150 will broadcast live from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

CHEF GORDON RAMSAY: TV superstar chef Gordon Ramsay will be visiting the Marlins on July 17. Ramsay is a British chef and restaurateur who has been awarded a total of 16 Michelin Stars for outstanding quality and in 2001 became one of only three chefs in the United Kingdom to hold three Michelin stars at one time. Ramsay currently ranks 3rd in the world in terms of Michelin Stars. Ramsay will be throwing out the first pitch as part of the pregame ceremonies.

GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY: The Marlins New Ballpark Groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 18 (10 a.m. to 12 noon) at the site of the new ballpark located at 1501 NW 3rd Street in Miami. DINNER ON THE DIAMOND CHECK PRESENTATION: The 13th Annual Dinner on the Diamond raised $30,000 for three charities including the Daily Bread Food Bank, Camillus House and the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. Checks for $10,000 each will be presented to Camillus House and the Daily Bread Food Bank in this special pre-game ceremony.

MARLINS MORTGAGE PAYOUT: Let the Marlins make a mortgage or rent payment for you in 2009. The weekly winner will receive a check for $2,500 during a live presentation on the field. Also, on September 26 vs. the Mets, one lucky fan at each game will be awarded with a check for up to $15,000 toward: 1) the principal on his/her mortgage or 2) the remainder of the winner's annual lease. Foundation volunteers will be selling raffle tickets at the following locations: Gate G lobby, Gate F & H Plazas and sections 138, 149, 156, and 244 from the time the gates open until the end of the first inning. SUPER SATURDAY POST-GAME CONCERT: Cuban artists Hansel Enrique Martinez and Raul Alfonso will take the stage for the first time since going solo in the late 1990's. Their professional musical careers began in 1976 in New York City with the world famous Charanga 76' as vocalists and co-founders of the band. Their music was based on a sophisticated version of tropical dance music that emphasizes strings and woodwinds rather than brass. Hansel & Raul decided to separate in 1988 but reunited in 1996 for a new collaboration, "Celebrando", which became one of their top selling albums of all time. KPMG DAY AT THE BALLPARK/MARLINS YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC: Marlins personnel will conduct a clinic at 10:00 AM at Land Shark Stadium for members Marlins RBI All Star Teams. Following the clinic, representative from KPMG will be talking to the kids about “driving home the values of life”. The clinic is a part of KPMG’s commitment to the RBI program.

SNAPSHOT SUNDAY: The first 100 fans in line at Snapshot Sunday will be able to have their photograph taken with a Marlins player. Fans are reminded to bring their own camera. Snapshot Sunday is located at Strike Zone at Gate H and opens at 10:30 a.m. Billy The Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids will also be on hand for photographs at various times.

MARLINS STARS AND STRIPES PROGRAM: For the seventh consecutive season, the Marlins are offering the "Stars and Stripes" ticket program for United States Military staff including: Active and Reserve personnel, National Guard, and their dependents, to attend Sunday Marlins regular season games at no cost. To receive complimentary tickets, eligible military personnel, or dependents, must present their military identification card (DOD or Homeland Security Cards) at the Gate F box office at Land Shark Stadium, on the day of the game, at least one hour prior to the start of the regular season game. This program is good for Box tickets for all 13 Sunday regular season Marlins home games.

LIVE BROADCAST: 790 The Ticket will broadcast live from the Gate G plaza from 10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.

FAMILY FUNZONE: The Family Funzone includes bounce houses, live music with a DJ, a mini-carousel, inflatables, and live entertainment. The Family Funzone is located outside of section 146 along with Marlins Fan Headquarters.

50/50 RAFFLE: The Florida Marlins Community Foundation will host a 50-50 Raffle every Sunday during the 2009 season. Raffle tickets are available for the following donations: 1 for $3, 2 for $5, 5 for $10 or 20 for $15. The raffle is held from the time the gates open until the end of the third inning. One lucky winner will receive one-half of the money collected from the raffle that day. The other half will be used for the Cornerstones for Kids programs. GENERAL INFORMATION COMMUNITY CORNER: The Community Corner consists of two kiosks at section 149 and serves as the headquarters for the Florida Marlins community programs. The Florida Marlins Community Foundation will staff their kiosk every game from the time the gates open until the last out of the third inning. Auctions, raffles, and Marlins official Game Programs, Score Cards, Year Books and Media Guides are available. Look for great deals on excellent seats including the Batter’s Box thanks to ticket donations to the Foundation!

CELEBRATION CLUB: The Florida Marlins Community Foundation allows fans to display a message on Marlins Vision. Personalized messages will be shown in the middle of the 4th inning of every Marlins home game. Messages will run for the first 12 people who call the Marlins office to make a reservation or sign up at www.marlins.com. Fans taking advantage of this program will also receive a framed picture of the message. The cost is $50.00 per message, with all proceeds benefiting the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. In addition, each caller will have the option to pick up one dozen roses or a gift bag (adult or child’s) a $40 donation.

Billy the Marlin or the Marlins Mermaids can deliver a gift bag and/or roses directly to a fan’s seat location for a $100 donation. If it is a fan’s birthday, Billy/Mermaids will lead the section to sing “Happy Birthday.” The first person to place a reservation for a delivery and message will be featured on Marlins Vision as the Al’s Florist & Gifts “Catch of the Day.” Cost of the “Catch of the Day” is $150. Also, one child a game can accompany Billy the Marlin on the field during the 7th inning stretch to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” for a $100 donation.

Note: Marriage proposals can be arranged. The cost is a $250 donation, which includes a live proposal, DVD and a dozen roses. This requires special coordination so the more notice the better. This request should always be filtered through the Community Foundation. Payment must be received 24 hours prior to the scheduled game. Fans should call (305) 623-6497 to make a reservation.

The program is intended to allow participants to earn income, develop and maintain professional skills, establish new business networks and potentially earn a full-time position with the Marlins organization. The Registration Period for MCSF is currently open and will close on July 19, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. EST All applicants must consent to a criminal background check and provide a valid driver's license or other form of government issued ID. Commissions and bonuses will be paid based on new season and group ticket sales. Marlins will consider hiring top performers as full-time Sales Executives.
