3 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Hello there, lucky winner!

I want to greet you to the Tinnitus Terminator Community. You’ve made it: You made the smart decision to try out this tinnitus cure. The lines you are now reading are the first steps toward a new life… One without that ringing and whooshing in your head, without dizziness, sleepless nights and depressive moods, one without useless visits to the doctor’s office, spending time and money on complicated medical investigations and pills with little or no effect.

Our community here reunites people like you and me, those who suffered or suffer from tinnitus, people who, due to their unpleasant experience with this condition, have dedicated their time into helping others recover. We are tied by the goal of setting our lives straight, aiming for a normal and fulfilling path, enjoying all the little and big surprises or happy moments our existence could bring. You are a winner for me, since you took initiative, decided to join us and take life into your own hands. In maximum 30 days, you will see that the steps I will ask you to follow have their meaning and will pay off.

In the next pages you will discover a questionnaire which will help you determine the severity of your tinnitus. Next, based on the intensity level of your condition, you will be asked to use the audio files received on the Members’ Area in a specific order for a certain number of minutes. If you didn’t download them yet, you can always return to the Member’s Area, by clicking here. I’ll give you all the instructions so that you know exactly what to do. Next, you will receive charts to track your progress. I will answer some of the frequently asked questions, so that you will have all the necessary tools for a prosperous evolution with the Tinnitus Terminator! This way, your daily schedule will be minimally affected by your effort to cure your tinnitus! I will have to ask you to have patience. Patience is a virtue, they say… Your tinnitus won’t improve in the next few days. You will get the first results in about 2 weeks. In the beginning, during the first 2 weeks in the program, most of the people who used the Tinnitus

3

4 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Protocol reported they felt less stressed (74%) and that they slept better (68%). For the third week in the program, most of the people (89%) remarked the symptoms had significantly reduced in intensity by up to 70%*1. Within the last 9 days of the program, all the tinnitus patients said the ringing in the ears stopped, thus achieving a 100% success rate. Yet, if you don’t get noticeable results by the

21stth day of the program, I advise you to stop it for 2 days and start over because some of us achieve milestones differently when it comes to healing processes. That does not mean you are a “lost case”, it just means with a bit more determination you can achieve your goal: a tinnitus-free life!

Thus being said, here is what you have to do:

1. Questionnaire: Answer the questions to determine your tinnitus severity level.

2. Program: Go through the audio recordings exactly as recommended, based on your type of tinnitus.

3. Charts: Use the charts you received to follow your progress and take action, according to the given advice.

4. FAQ: Read the frequently asked questions in order to eliminate any risk you won’t follow the program as needed and to adjust it to your needs and daily schedule.

As you know now, tinnitus is not a specific dysfunction of your ears, it’s a problem that lies in the . According to a study of the Washington University School of in St. Louis, “many people with tinnitus have had ear trauma or hearing loss, but not all of them […] at the same time, a lot of people with ear injuries or

Computer-based cognitive trainings – meaning the use of software technology, which aids functions of the brain – are already promoted as treatments for

ADHD, traumatic brain injuries and even schizophrenia3.

Above, you can see the conclusions of the researchers of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 2014. Their discovery is not new. In 2011, the Berkeley University of California published a similar study. Shaowen Bao, adjunct assistant professor in the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, talked about the inner hair cells, the sensory cells of the cochlea, that are responsible for signal transduction 4 . Each hair cell is tuned for a different frequency, thus damaging them would result in gap of hearing. The ringing, the classic symptom of tinnitus, doesn’t originate in the inner ear, though, but rather in some regions of the brain that receive input from the ear. “We argue that reorganizing the cortical map should be the goal, so that the nerves get some input and stop their tinnitus activity. […] You don’t want to leave these cells without sensory input” Shaowen Bao shows.

6 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Though not the most used solutions for tinnitus, therapies, such as the Tinnitus Terminator are known and approved by the American Tinnitus

Association5. According to ATA, the sound therapy could help in:

• Masking: Meaning to expose the patient to an external noise loud enough that it covers the sound of their tinnitus; • Distracting: To use an external sound to divert the patient’s attention from their tinnitus; • Habituation: To hide the unpleasant tinnitus with an external sound, making it be perceived as unimportant and easily ignored; • Neuromodulation: Meaning to use specialized to minimize the neural hyperactivity, to be the cause of tinnitus.

You might ask yourself why, if researchers are aware for a few years now that the cause for tinnitus rests in the brain, the easy cure for this condition is not made available for the public at large, although is mentioned by universities and medical authorities in the field. I know the answer and I found it when trying to present the Tinnitus Terminator to doctors or to pharma companies. All of them rejected even the idea of discussing an alternative to the typical tinnitus management solutions. My solution was not promoting something expensive, nothing that could generate a profit or make people depend on “something”, whether we are talking about devices or pills. The Tinnitus Terminator is sabotaging the pharmaceutical market, by offering a cure, by being a therapy that relies neither on drugs, nor on expensive doctors’ visits.

Go through the following questionnaire in order to find out the effects of tinnitus on an individual’s lifestyle and general well- being. Some of the effects below may apply to you and your unique situation and others may not. Based on your answers, you will be able to determine your tinnitus intensity level and find the best way to apply the program to your specific situation.

Answer every question by circling the number that best reflects how your tinnitus and related symptoms have impacted you over the past week. When you reach the last one, calculate the total of circled answers to obtain a final number. If it’s easier for you, just print the next two pages.

Total

Score: 0 -> 30 = Tinnitus type A

Score 31 -> 50 = Tinnitus type B

Score 51 to 104 = Tinnitus type C

If the total score of questions 5, 8, 16, 19, 22, 24, 25, 26 and 23 is higher or equal to 20, no matter the total score = Tinnitus type C

11

12 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com The Questionnaire: Your score and what to do next

Thank you for taking the time to honestly answer these questions.

I understand you might find it difficult to think about your tinnitus and examine how it has impacted and changed your life; but you are taking the first steps towards curing your tinnitus and taking back control of your life.

If your total score for the questions above is smaller or equal to 30, you have tinnitus type A. If your score is 31 to 50, you have tinnitus type B. If your score is higher than or equal to than 51, you have tinnitus type C.

However, regardless of the score, there are certain factors that indicate a more prominent necessity for the audio therapy presented in the Tinnitus Terminator program, such as the indicators of (questions 5, 8, 16, 19, 22, 24, 25 and 26) and the one connected to sleep issues (question 23). If your score for these questions is higher or equal to 20, no matter the final score, you should follow the program as advised for tinnitus type C.

These depression indicators note a problem with depression. While your tinnitus can be a serious issue you have to deal with, depression can be an even more severe complication. This is why it is helpful and also very important to know how bad your depression is. It is recommended that you pay special attention to the depression indicators and seriously look at your scores and figure out the best way to deal with any depression that might be holding you back. In a similar way, the indicator of sleep problems also needs to be carefully noted and considered. Lack of sleep can impact every aspect of your life and can have a negative effect on every major system of your body – including mental processes, nerve communication, hormone levels, and oxygen flow – all of which can impact your tinnitus!

13 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Program: Sound therapy

The auditory cortex of the brain is the area responsible for processing sounds in the brain by receiving, interpreting, and processing those signals into the unique and distinguishable sounds we hear. activates far more than just that one area in the brain such as regions associated with , movement and memory. This is why audio therapy is a complex and scientifically proven technique used in improving and healing various conditions that have to do with hearing and minor mental difficulties such as memory, , and focusing ability.

Unlike many other treatments that profess to cure tinnitus, there is no need to take any medication during the course of this healing process. You have everything you need to cure your tinnitus already; you just need the plan and

13

14 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com you’re all set. There are no medications or drugs involved in the Tinnitus Terminator program. All you have to do is to listen to the sound therapy recordings. It could not be any simpler.

On the Members’ Area, that you can visit anytime by clicking on this link here, you will find 30 different audio files that are meant to help you complete this program. Make sure you download them to your computer.

Before starting your therapy, I will have to ask you to set the volume of your listening device. Most of those who used the Tinnitus Terminator preferred to use headphones. I’d recommend them, whether they are connected to a mobile listening device, your laptop or your computer. Others, who don’t like using headphones, listen to the audio files with a set of speakers, with no other background noises. The first recording you should listen to is the How Loud It Should Be mp3. Each person needs to adjust volume for the therapy audio files according to it, based on the device used to play the tracks and individual hearing needs. The How Loud It Should be mp3 will enumerate a series of common words that, if you can clearly and easy understand show that you set your listening device to the right volume level for your needs. Keep the same volume for all the tracks you will have to listen next.

15 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Program: Sound Therapy 1. The White Noise Therapy

The first part of the program is the White Noise Therapy. It is designed to initiate the healing process by stimulating the central part of the brain and rehabilitating the hearing function. White noise has been scientifically proven to work towards hearing restoration and annihilation of tinnitus symptoms. It might remind you of background sounds such as a running shower, sprinklers, distant lawn mower, traffic background, fan noise and soft radio static.

According to Jonathan Hobson, lead author of a new Cochrane review, white noise reduces the contrast between the patient’s tinnitus signal and the background noise. This reduces the person’s of the phantom sounds and the distress they cause6. Though not enough to cure tinnitus, the white noises help you improve cognitive performance7, such boosting your attention and memory functions8.

In our case, listening to this part of the program will help you get a certain cognitive sensibility and attention towards fine sounds and will make you more receptive towards the next two acoustic parts of the Tinnitus Terminator.

2. The Fine Sounds Therapy

Classical music does not contain wide variations in

amplitude, which conveys a soothing sensation that positively

affects the limbic system, which is the emotional processor in

the brain and is directly connected to a person’s reaction to tinnitus. It also stimulates the auditory cortex, sharpening one’s power of focus and creativity. The Fine Sounds section of the Tinnitus Terminator takes advantage of this mental stimulation, helping you to both alleviate your tinnitus and increase your cognitive abilities.

18

19 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com The Fine Sounds Therapy encompasses all classical music and features selections from Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Chopin, and some American composers as well. Classical music stimulates the cognitive functions of the brain and has proven effective in many types of audio therapies. It has long been shown by the medical community that music, particularly classical music, can have a positive impact on a person's physical, mental, and emotional well-being9.

This is why the practice of pregnant women listening to classical music or playing classical music to their bellies is so popular these days. It is to help induce a state of wellness to their babies and improve their development and growth while in the womb. You might be wondering “what does this have to do with me?”

Classical music has been proven to “work wonders” on your brain, meaning it helps release the tension and you perceive on a mental state and acts like a soothing factor coming from the frontal lobe of your brain, in which the backward cortex sends signals to the frontal cortex via a mild sedative. Basically, it helps decrease the neural paths that link any upsetting, stressful sensations to your medial prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for highly complex actions, such as planning cognitive behavior, personality expression, decision making etc.

Basically, everything that makes you “tick” on a cognitive level.

The Tinnitus Terminator program moves on from White Noise to Classical

Fine Sounds because it is the easiest transition from the low level white sounds to a more moderate tone, enabling your ears to relax and actually enjoy the sound you’re listening.

3. The Call of Nature Therapy

This final step of the program focuses on stimulating the

specific part of brain called the Nucleus Accumbens10, which

generates an emotional reaction to musical sounds. With the Call of Nature Therapy, your general of balance is restored, helping make it easier to relax and embrace the beauty of the world’s natural, unhindered sounds. This audio section is comprised of special pieces of natural sounds and vibrations found deep within the heart of tropical forests and ocean. As previously mentioned, the Nucleus Accumbens plays a major role in your emotional reactions because it is directly connected to the mental processing of motivation, pleasure and reward. This region of the brain is also associated with your “addictive side”, meaning it “shelters” neurotransmitters such as dopamine, phenethylamine, tyramine and others. Natural medium sounds

Getting your mind involved in questions about life, its meaning and its boundaries are the best form of replacement for tinnitus.

This is the final part of the audio therapy and it has been specially designed to strengthen and maximize the healing power of the treatment. These last sessions consist of relaxing sounds of nature: dolphins playing, birds chirping, rainforest sounds, falling rain, ocean waves, wind blowing, insects buzzing, and other similar sounds that are relaxing and calming. This type of sound has a soothing effect and the tracks in these last sessions are meant to conclude the therapy program in a relaxed and positive way.

One of the biggest differences between the nature sounds and the other ones you will hear in the treatment program is that nature sounds have an organic ebb and flow to them. Unlike the White Noise Therapy, where every recording has a volume consistency to it, this part is more “colorful” in tonalities, which means sounds will be louder, then softer, and will vary in tone and pitch.

42 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Frequently Asked Questions

The questions and answers below should offer you clear advice on how to go through the Tinnitus Terminator without difficulties. Please read them before starting the program.

1. What is included in the Tinnitus Terminator package?

The Tinnitus Terminator is a complete program meant to help you cure tinnitus and improve your hearing. It contains:

• The Tinnitus Terminator eBook ; • 30 audio files, each 15 minute-long, structured on 3 therapy sessions (10 audio files for White Noise, 10 audio files for Fine Sounds, 10 audio files for Call of Nature); • 1 How Loud It Should Be audio, to help you determine the volume level of your therapy; • 1 Audio Tracker audio to check upon the evolution of your therapy; • The Tinnitus Terminator Pocket Guide: the short structure of the protocol, meant to be printed.

2. What device should I use to listen to the audio files?

I personally recommend to use any device, music player that you have and to listen to the audio files with your headphones. If you don’t like to cover your ears with headphones, you can also listen to the audio files in a quiet room, with no background noise, every day at the same distance to the speakers.

3. Where can I find all the audio files?

You can download all the audio files, as well as the eBook and the Pocket Guide, on the Members’ Area. You can return to it every time you consider it necessary, by clicking here.

4. How loud should I play the 30 audio files so that they have the proper effect over my tinnitus?

42

43 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Each person needs to adjust volume for the therapy audio files according to the How Loud It Should Be audio file, based on the device used to play the tracks and individual hearing needs. This recording will enumerate a series of common words that, if you can clearly and easy understand, shows that you set your listening device to the right volume level for your needs. Keep the same volume for all the tracks you will have to listen to next.

5. When is it better to listen to the audio files of the 3-part program?

I recommend listening to the audio files during the last hour before going to sleep. Let’s say, for instance, that you go to sleep at 10 pm; that means you should listen to your 15 minutes of therapy anytime between 9 to 10 pm. The reason I’m recommending this is because “sleeping heals you”, meaning that the changes in your brain this therapy produces will continue to work while your brain is resting and, because there aren’t any other external factors for it to pay attention to, it will focus more on the healing process.

6. What happens if I skipped a day?

If you skipped a day, it’s not like it’s the end of the world. The Tinnitus Terminator is a simple program that can also be followed while traveling. You have the Pocket Guide that you can print and you can easily copy the audio files on any portable media player to take them with you. Anyhow, if you skipped a day… take an at least 2-day pause and start over the entire program.

7. When is it better to go through the Depression and Anxiety Marks questionnaire?

Go through the Depression and Anxiety Marks questionnaire preferably in the morning, the day after you finished one of the therapy parts, before listening to the first audio file of the next one.

8. When should I listen to the Audio Tracker?

The Audio Tracker and the Depression and Anxiety Marks questionnaire go hand in hand. Please listen to the Audio Tracker after you finished a therapy and before going to another one, in the morning, when your brain is well rested.

9. When will I notice my tinnitus has improved? 43

44 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com You will get the first results in about 2 weeks. In the beginning, during the first 2 weeks in the program, most of the people who used the Tinnitus Protocol reported they felt less stressed (74%) and that they slept better (68%). For the third week in the program, most of the people (89%) remarked the ringing and noise in their head reduced in intensity by up to 70%. Within the last 9 days of the program, all the tinnitus patients said the ringing in the ears stopped, thus achieving a 100% success rate. Yet, if you don’t get noticeable results by the 21stth day of the program, I advise you to stop it for 2 days and start over because some of us achieve milestones differently when it comes to healing processes. If this happens, it doesn’t mean you can’t cure your tinnitus.

10. Should I make any changes in my life when I follow the Tinnitus Terminator program?

The Tinnitus Terminator is an easy to follow program that is not meant to affect your current lifestyle. Of course, you might be more successful into faster curing your tinnitus if you have a healthy diet and sleep at least 6 hours every night. But, again, this is up to you. The Tinnitus Terminator is a side-effects free therapy that aims to heal tinnitus in 30 days, without requiring you to do anything else besides exercising your hearing with specially designed audio tracks.

11. Do you have a hard copy of this eBook?

Due to the nature of this project and the fact that nobody was willing to pay attention to it, from doctors to recording studios, this project is available only online for a limited time only. If you need a hard copy, I strongly advise to print the schedule of your therapy and the evaluation questionnaires and you won’t need more than 24 pages printed. Check the Tinnitus Terminator Pocket Guide for the most efficient and printer friendly version of the protocol.

12. What should I do if I don’t understand something, I have questions regarding the program?

As I was telling you in the beginning, you are not alone. I look over every single person who joined the Tinnitus Terminator community as a friend. I can understand what you’re going through. I get that you are frustrated, tired, 44

45 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com maybe a little depressed. That you can’t sleep at nights and every single task can turn into a challenge you’re not feeling up to. I was in your shoes and I completely understand where you’re coming to. As easy as I tried to design the Tinnitus Terminator program to fit everybody, I believe that everyone is unique and thus, many questions may come up. If you’d like to meet the wonderful volunteers who are a part of this helpful community, ask questions, get support, do write us at: [email protected]

46 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com A Tinnitus-Free Life

Many people compare tinnitus to the soaring sensation in the ear that feels

like they are slowly going deaf. Sounds are muffled and harder to distinguish.

The buzzing and noises in the ear drown out the true sound around, sending

one into a disorienting place where sounds are garbled and distorted. Severe

or prolonged cases of tinnitus can lead to partial or complete hearing loss over

time.

This is the unfortunate and unfair curse of tinnitus. You may feel like you

are alone in your suffering and trials and struggles, but that is far from the

truth. Many people suffer from tinnitus each and every day; even some very

famous people in history struggled with tinnitus and related hearing loss. One

of the most notable of these is famous musician Beethoven.

Beethoven was a man who possessed an extraordinary gift for music.

However, as fate would have it, he was destined to suffer from gradual

deafness, which began early in his life around the age of 26. All his life,

Beethoven struggled with hearing issues and gradual hearing loss, and by the

end of his life his hearing had completely deteriorated. He suffered from a

severe form of tinnitus that made it hard for him to fully perceive musical

sounds and distinguish noises and sounds from the clamor in his own ears.

This caused him a great deal of stress and trauma, and very early into his

struggle with the disorder, he began to retreat into himself and at times went

out of his way to avoid conversations, crowds, and social events. Beethoven

kept to himself as much as possible and towards the worst years of his battle

46

47 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com with tinnitus he barely left his home or had any interaction with anyone.

Amazingly enough, it was not until after he began losing his hearing that

Beethoven began to create some of his most famous, inspirational, and moving

pieces.

Historians and those who were closest to the musical genius have reported

that Beethoven used a number of ingenious tricks and pieces of technology to

help him overcome his tinnitus and deal with his hearing loss. One thing

Beethoven did was to learn to recognize the note and tone of every key on the

piano based on its location. This allowed him to play the song in his head as

he remembered what the notes sounded like and then simply assign the right

key on the piano to that tone. It is also said that he would use a variety of ear

horns to help him hear better; he even had some specially made for him.

Another unique trick Beethoven came up with to help him overcome the

communication barriers that existed was a series of conversation books, many

of which survived to this day. These documents recorded his views on his

own music, how it should be performed, along with many other intimate

thoughts on life and creation. These pieces of writing have been a source of

invaluable information and insight to historians. Only a handful of these

books remain, although some historians and experts think that as many as 400

such volumes were created and used. No one really knows what became of

hundreds of these books, but we do know that Beethoven used his own

creativity and genius to come up with a way to beat his tinnitus and continue

living his life.

Despite all his best efforts, Beethoven never cured himself of his tinnitus

and left this world with little hearing left. Fortunately, things have changed. 47

48 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com It truly is inspirational to see how one man embraced his circumstances and

used them to motivate himself to do better things and fight for and reach his

goals and dreams. You can do the same if you are willing to embrace your life

and learn how to cure yourself from your tinnitus. It can be challenging and

frustrating at times, but it can be done and it can change your life! Beethoven’s

life story and struggle are the expression of the unrelenting drive to overcome

the obstacles we should possess and guide ourselves by. Let Beethoven be

your inspiration as you make your way through this protocol and discover

how you can cure your tinnitus without all the drugs and medication!

48

49 © Tinnitus-Terminator.com Timothy Seaton lives in Denver, Colorado and, for years, he tried to cure tinnitus with different treatments. A couple of ears back, while performing a surgery to help him recover, the doctors accidently cut a facial nerve, leaving him without the sense of .

The Tinnitus Terminator represents his own discovery, based on his struggle to make this awful condition go away.

Based on the premises that tinnitus is not caused by high or loud sounds, but roots deep in the brain, being trigged by a complex interplay of brain signals that gone “wrong”, damaging the tiny vibrating receptors called “hair cells” in the inner ear, the Tinnitus Terminator is a unique solution. It introduces all those who decided to fight against the roaring and ringing in their ears to customized sounds/stimuli, designed to retrain your brain in working properly.

The success this easy, side-effect free therapy has known over a short while, made the Tinnitus Terminator a very popular alternative treatment eBook, read and followed by thousands of people.
