30th Annual Helping Hands Award Dinner CONTENTS A NOTE SUMMER 2014 from within p22-25 30th Annual Helping Never a Shortage of Helping Hands Hands Award Dinner In 1985, the Helping Hands Award Dinner made its debut at the University of Notre Dame. Nearly 300 people attended the event, which honored James W. Frick. Fast forward 29 years to the 30th Annual Helping Hands Award Dinner held May 7th at the Hilton Garden Inn. This year’s event raised $225,345 to support the work of Center for Hospice Care. Road to Hope Program As the Annual Report and Employee Giving story in this issue describes, we are very fortunate to have the support – the “helping hands” – of our generous community. While many give of their treasure, others give of their time and talent. Volunteers are essential to many of our events, including two of our largest – Walk for Hospice p15 29th Annual Walk for Hospice and Bike Michiana for Hospice. Walk for Hospice was held August 10th on the grounds of our new Mishawaka Campus. A few new twists on this perennial favorite were enjoyed by participants. Be sure to see the fall issue for photos.

The 6th Annual Bike Michiana for Hospice will take place on September 14th at St. Patrick’s PARTNERSHIPS County Park.
