2013-14 SCHEDULE AUGUSTANA AT USD T WILIGHT OPEN SATURDAY , F EB . 22 | V ERMILLION , S.D. | T HE DAKOTA DOME INDOOR December Storylines 7 Minnesota State Preseason Open • Augustana will split their squad in their final week of regular-season competition. - Mankato, Minn. • The Vikings will send nine men and eight women to the University of Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln, Neb. on Feb. 22. January • The rest of the Augustana squads will head to the University of South Dakota Twilight meet on Feb. 22 18 Dordt Open • Augustana experienced another successful outing, recording eight qualifying marks. - Siuox Center, Iowa • Using those qualifying marks from the past two weeks, both teams made big jumps in the USTFCCCA rankings. 25 Jack Johnson Invite • On the season, the Vikings have earned provisional marks in 18 events; see where they rank in Division II below. - Minneapolis, Minn. • Augustana’s women’s 4x400-meter relay team has impressed this season and they look to qualify at the UNL Tune-Up. 31-2/1 Minnesota State Multi & Open • Quietly, Ryan Heuer has put together a solid indoor season and earned his first career qualifying mark last weekend. - Mankato, Minn. • With one weekend before the NSIC championships, both Viking squads are conference title threats. February 8 Ted Nelson Classic Last time out: DMRs dominate as Vikings hit eight more qualifying marks at MSU Open - Mankato, Minn. • Led by two national top-three DMR times, Augustana walked away from the MSU Open with more qualifying marks. 15 Minnesota State Classic • Augustana’s men scorched the Myers Fieldhouse track clocking an auto-qualifying mark and the second-fastest D2 time. - Mankato, Minn. • In race order, Henrik Hansson, Skyler Kuil, Aduo Omot, and Harald Karbo turned in the performance of the day. 16-17 NSIC Mulit-Event Championships • The women, Emma Anderson, Carina Hofmeister, Kayla Mescher, and Kyle Blakeslee nearly equaled the men’s - Mankato, Minn. effort, clocking the third-best time in the nation and a provisional mark -- Mescher hit a provisional 800m mark as well. 22 USD Twilight • John Klecker turned some heads with his qualifying 3,000-meter time, which is the second-fastest in Augustana history. - Vermillion, S.D. • Per the usual, CJ Ham improved his weight throw and shot put qualifying marks, raising his school-record WT mark. 22 Nebraska Tune-Up • Kyle Blakeslee added her third 3,000-meter qualifying time in winning the event. - Lincoln, Neb. • Breaking through in the men’s 60-meter hurdles, Ryan Heuer recorded his first collegiate qualifying mark. 28-3/1 NSIC Indoor Championships - Bemidji, Minn. Poll position: men and women make double-digit leaps in USTFCCCA week four rankings March • After two weeks of outstanding performances, the men join the women in the top 25 rankings. 14-15 NCAA Indoor Championships • Augustana’s women jumped up 12 more spots to No. 12 led by Kristin Brondbo’s automatic qualifying 3k time. - Winston-Salem, N.C. • Kelsey Kaufmann’s 10th-ranked high jump mark and the women’s DMR time add significant points to the ranking. • The men’s mid-distance/DMR marks raised them 14 spots from last week, 43 from two weeks ago, to No. 22 this week. OUTDOOR March Let’s get provisional 29 WSC Wildcat Classic • With the addition of the two DMR times as well as Klecker and Heuer’s marks, the Vikings have 18 different qualifiers. - Wayne, Neb. • Kristin Brondbo’s 3,000-meter time reigns supreme, ranking first in Division II ad is the only auto mark in D2. • The men’s DMR time is second by less than a half-second and the women’s time ranks third in Division II.
