Keeping it on the fairway…

While we have been able to repair some of the damage done to the fairways, some of it is going to take time to heal. Nearly all the bunkers are looking good and others should be repaired by next weekend.

Well done to the staff for tidiness of the golf course. It’s all been cut and the greens and tees are in good condition.

Valentine's Picnic

What a superb event the annual Valentine's picnic turned out to be.

The weather held and gave us a stunning evening outside under the stars. The food was fantastic; the music was just right and even got some people dancing, and the atmosphere was magical. The whole package was so much better than any restaurant could serve up!

Well done to the whole Zwartkop Catering team – happy tummies and happy hearts!

Zwartkop Nite Race Series – Wed, 19th Feb

You can still join us for tomorrow’s Nite Race – enter online to avoid having to queue – www.bouttime.co.za. Headlamps are advised please for all 10 km runners as the light is fading quickly after 18h30!

Toks van der Linde – Thurs, 20th Feb

Play in the Meat Day and stay for a fun evening in the bar with rugby legend and commentator Toks van der Linde.

Eldoraigne High School had their school trials here yesterday and Ruan Botha got to add a hole-in-one on the 17th to his scorecard. Well done!

Chris Delport’s Captains Corner…

The league results for the past week were:

The Senior Handicap league played against Bronkhorstspruit away on 13 February and won 3/1, with wins by Tertius Horak/ Hennie Nel and Platjie Klaassen/ Pieter Hoffman, and halves by Niekie Joubert/ Donald Dykman and Koos le Roux/ Ian Carty.

The Men’s Handicap team 1 played against Cullinan at home on 16 February and won 4/0, with wins by Corne van Zyl/ Sallie Herbst, Shawn Rouse/ Roscoe Hall, Ben Zeelie/ Danie Zeelie and Neil Goosen/ Marlin Esau.

The Senior Scratch league team 1 played against Wingate 1 and Akasia at Silver Lakes on 15 February. They halved with Wingate with wins by Robin Ashby and William Skinner and beat Akasia 3.5/0.5 with wins by Robin Ashby, William Skinner, Corne Basson and a half by Neil Goosen.

The Senior Scratch league team 2 played against Waterkloof and Services at Silver Lakes on 15 February. They halved against Waterkloof with wins by Leon Scheepers Sr and Almero Meyer and also halved against Services with wins by Leon Scheepers Sr and Almero Meyer.

The 3rd edition of the Singles Club was held on Sunday 16 February and due to the various leagues only 15 players could participate. The results were:

Best Gross: Brent Goddard - 73 Runner-up: Dewald Venter - 74 3rd place: Leon Scheepers Jr - 74

Best net: Robert Oosthuizen - 69 Runner-up: Leon Scheepers Sr - 72 3rd place: Herman Dippenaar - 72

Liezl McMaster won the Jokers Wild Draw on Friday took home R320. Come down this week so you don’t miss out! The draw gets done at 18h30 & we have live music going to keep you in a festive mood.
