College Fair Press Release 9-28-18 Press Release The 11th Annual Abilene ISD and Abilene Education Foundation College and Technical School Fair Monday, October 1st, 2018 6:00 to 8:00 PM Abilene Convention Center Foyer The Abilene Education Foundation and Abilene ISD invite all AISD students, as well as students in the surrounding area, to the College and Technical School Fair. Parents are also welcome. The College and Technical School Fair will be held on October 1st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Abilene Convention Center located at 1100 North 6th Street. Over 50 colleges & universities will be in attendance (see next page for list). Due to changes in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) timeline, we will provide a booth staffed by financial aid professionals from area higher education institutions to answer questions that students and parents may have. Students are highly encouraged to register in advance at www.gotocollegefairs.com where they can create a profile with their contact information and interests. Upon completion, the website will generate a barcode for the student. Rather than filling out a separate information card for each college, the student will provide the barcode to college reps, who will scan the barcode to collect pertinent student information, affording students and college representatives more face-to-face interaction time. Contact Person: Amanda Wiskow, COOL Program Coordinator 677-1444 ext. 1736 Thank you for your support of AISD!
