Gerald Cupchik announces the publication of his book The Aesthetics of Emotion : Up the down staircase of the mind-body (Cambridge University Press, 2016). He applies aesthetic theory, research and developments in neuroscience to integrate opposing viewpoints about the nature of emotion, interviews a curator and nine artists about their projects, and explores the origins of "cave art" in brain and social

2 developments more than 30,000 years ago. Members of IAEA and others are invited to visit a dedicated website where they can find nine Open Access lectures (about 20 minutes each) as well as interviews with the artists, and other resources including a transcript of Dan Berlyne's autobiographical interview from 1973. Lecturer in Psychology (two posts) The Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths, University of London is looking to appoint two excellent researchers to the position of Lecturer in Psychology for January 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. As well as pursuing an independent programme of research, the post holders will contribute to teaching across a range of modules primarily on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and to administrative roles in the department. We are particularly keen to appoint a candidate who can attract significant grant income, whose research shows clear pathways to impact, and who can complement existing research strengths in our Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience, Development and Education Science and The Psychology of Aesthetics and Performance research groups. We also have more focal areas of specialism in Anomalistic Psychology, , Health and Well- Being, and Social Relations and Groups.
