1. OVERVIEW: Bagan (or Pagan) is an ancient city that was the capital of the first Burmese empire. Located on the eastern bank of the Irrawaddy River in central Myanmar, it was home to more than 10,000 pagodas, temples and monasteries built between the 11th and 13th centuries by the ancient kings of Burma. Of which the remains of over 2,000 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day in a verdant sublime setting, part-covered with palms and tamarind caught in a bend of the lazy-flowing river and surrounded by the hazy silver-grey of distant mountains.

Bagain is one of the world’s greatest archeological sites. The region does not experience a rainy season, which enables tourists to visit and discover the temple town at ease all year-round.

Overview: Start with the busy local market at Nyaung Oo, and then continue to the golden Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the oldest and most impressive monuments in Bagan as it served as a prototype for later stupas built throughout the country. The itinerary is flexible so you can visit any temple if you want.

Itinerary:

Morning, tour starts from your hotel with your private car & guide. You will first visit Nyaung Oo Market, a village market where you can find from wet market of fish and meat to house hold things like rattan baskets, cotton wear and antiques. Next, a visit is made at the golden Shwezigon Pagoda; prototype golden stupa, Gubyaukgyi Temple; small temple good for panoramic view and famous for its fresco paintings of 12th century. (Check in at hotel & rest.)

Afternoon, continue to visit Ananda Temple; the most beautiful temple with 4 standing Buddha in four cardinal points, history or lord Buddha and outside of the temple is decorated with Terra- Cotta worriers in green glaze plaques. Stop at Lacquerware home industry and stroll around the village of Myinkaba, visit Manuha Temple; the temple of captive king of Tha-ton, Dhammayangyi Pahto and Pyattadagyi Temple or one of the pagoda for panoramic view of the city. Drive back to your hotel in the afternoon
