he Art Gallery of South Australia is Adelaide’s splendid Ttreasure house, holding one of Australia’s finest, largest and oldest public art collections. The Art Gallery of South Australia Foundation was established in 1981 to raise funds to support the growth of the Gallery’s collections. Ninety percent of the Gallery’s collection has been acquired through the generosity of private and corporate donors and many works of art acquired through the Foundation remain the highlights of the collections today. The role of the Art Gallery Foundation is to continue this tradition, by encouraging financial support through membership, donations, and gifts of works of art, to keep the Gallery at the forefront of Australian and international art. The Art Gallery of South Australia is a wonderful and invaluable cultural resource, offering unique experiences for its members. Specially designed lectures, tours, exhibitions and other events make membership of the Art Gallery Foundation a rewarding experience. Gifts of significant works of art can also be made through the Foundation. In appreciation of donors’ generosity, the Foundation offers appropriate acknowledgment and membership for all contributions. Gifts are tax deductible under the Federal Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. Bequests to the Foundation create a legacy for generations to help ensure the Gallery’s future. Bequests can be varied in nature: cash, works of art or real property are some common examples. Gifts, donations and bequests can be made to honour people or organisations. Please contact the Foundation if you would like to receive a copy of the Gallery’s publication on bequests.
