Christmas Pudding Memory Test Get Someone Else to Read out All the Words on the Card Christmas Tree Pudding Christmas Christmas Party Christmas Star Christmas Crackers Christmas Stocking Christmas Party Board Game Instructions A teamwork game for two or more players or teams. Try to win but also help others to win! You will need: • a dice • a counter each • the four activity card piles • scrap paper and pencils for doodling • one-minute sand timer or stopwatch How to play: 1. Shuffle and place each set of cards face down near the corner of the board where they match the corner space. 2. All counters start on the middle ‘Christmas Star’ space. 3. All throw the dice and the one with the highest number starts the game. Then, take it in turns working clockwise around the players. 4. The aim of the game is to collect one card from each corner space and take them back to the middle ‘Christmas Star’ space. 5. Make your way around the board. When you land on a corner space, pick a card and do the activity on that card. If you manage to do the activity successfully, you keep that card. Collect all four to win the game. 6. You have to land exactly on a corner space to be able to do the activity. You have to move every time you throw, even if it’s off a corner place you are trying to get to. 7. If you land on a corner place, you still have to do an activity from that corner, even if you have already collected that card. visit twinkl.com The Cards Each activity needs timing as you only have one minute to be able to complete each task. Christmas Stocking Sketches Draw a picture of the thing on the card and everyone else has to guess what it is. Christmas Tree Mimes Act out (using no words or noises) the thing on the card while others guess what you are miming. There is a hint on each card which can be left out totally or said to the guessers after 30 seconds if they still haven’t guessed. Christmas Crackers Perform the tune written on the card by humming or ‘la la la-ing’ while the others guess what it is. Christmas Pudding Memory Test Get someone else to read out all the words on the card. You have one minute to remember and say at least five of them. (If this is too easy, make the number higher.) Other squares: Land on a ‘Christmas Star’ place (including the middle one) and you get another throw of the dice. Land on a smaller version of the corner spaces and go straight to that corner space. Do the next activity with your eyes closed. Alternatives: • Lengthen the game by having to collect two cards from each teacher. • Have a quicker game by everyone playing together as one team. visit twinkl.com Christmas Stocking Christmas • Leveling Your Supply Chain Or Leveling Your Competition
Leveling Your Supply Chain or Leveling Your Competition by: Tompkins Solutions Staff, Tompkins Solutions By Jim Tompkins CEO, Tompkins International I like the idea of Christmas in July. July is a slow sales month (after the summer season but before the Back-To- School season) and often retail supply chains are slow. So, boosting sales in July is a good idea and a July promotion may not only increase sales, but also offer an opportunity to clear out merchandise before products begin to arrive for the holiday season, leveling supply chain operations. But, Holy cow! If you Google "Christmas in July" you get: • Over 100 clip art designs (Santa on the beach, Christmas stocking by the pool, sand castles of snowmen, palm trees with Christmas lights, and more) • Decorating ideas • Party ideas • Movie/Video promotions • SALES, SALES, SALES Therefore, it is not surprising that, just like everything else, eCommerce is jumping on this band wagon. But wait a minute, Christmas is five months away! I understand that in the southern hemisphere, July is the middle of winter, and in order to preserve the "winter feel" of Christmas you find big celebrations in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and South America. This is not the case here in North Carolina. It is 95 degrees outside and there is no "winter feel". I believe that is the point - to some they get a sense of relief from the heat by thinking about winter and Christmas. Here I sit in my Santa hat on my boat with Christmas lights, listening to "Frosty the Snowman" while eating my Reindeer Crunch ice cream.
