Stables Manager Position The Stables at Innsbrook is seeking a qualified Head Trainer and or Stables Manager. Candidates must possess professional equine nutrition and management experience and or riding instruction and training resume. Being self-motivated with a standard for details a must! The recently renovated Innsbrook facility boasts 7 pastures totaling 30 acres, 11 chat paddocks, competition size large indoor and outdoor arenas, two barns totaling 35 stalls, a hay barn, and a residence on the property available to the right person. The facility has 3 tack rooms, storage rooms, multiple outside wash racks and hitching posts/tie spots for clients to have space with their horses. The stables offers access to over 20 miles of trails, ranging from all-weather, flat chat trails to wooded options, as well as Kentucky-style open space for hill work and gallops. Tractor, manure spreader, UTV, snow clearing, road and infrastructure maintenance provided. Parking and facility amenable to clinics, shows, and driving. Trainers welcome to bring their own customers in, as well as provide care and support for Innsbrook residents. Alternatively, salary available for a Stable Manager with the right experience who can accommodate a trainer or trainers and lesson program in a supportive program. Current lesson program clients range from Western Dressage, recreational trail riders and competitive Dressage and Eventing riders, as well as beginners and a strong 1/2 day summer camp program (30-200 campers). The right Trainer candidate will be open to working around multiple disciplines or able to teach and train in multiple disciplines. Required Key Skills
− Equine First-Aid, bandaging, and wound care experience. − Training, handling and conditioning: Applicable for trainers − Experienced horse handling in a professional program: Applicable for Stables Manager − Facility and arena management − Pasture management − Client support − Equine nutrition and health care. − Riding Instruction: Applicable for Trainer − Safety knowledge and management for equestrian programs and facility − People and critical thinking skills − Ability to support and work within the standards of a professional equestrian business as defined by commercial equestrian liability policy and industry standards. Basic Responsibilities
− Hiring, scheduling, and supervision of barn staff. − Daily care of horses, water & feeding according to individualized ration formulas. − Turn-outs to paddocks and pastures according to rotation schedule. − Client recruitment, retention, and support. − Maintenance of stalls, barns, paddocks, arenas, pastures, and fencing. − Ordering/Purchasing/Pickup of feed, hay, and shavings and supplies and maintain records of such purchases. − Schedule veterinary appointments as required, and maintain records of visits. − Keep schedules, records and administer medications as required. Fee based − Equipment preventive maintenance, cleanliness, oil & radiator, tire pressure, grease fittings. − Maintain lesson and training program − Provide or support a summer camp program − Provide professional care services; such as lunging, bandaging, training, injury or wound care.
