RALEIGH LITTLE THEATRE VII CAST BIOGRAPHIES

ANTON BAEZA (Ensemble) is a sophomore at Wake Technical Community College. He has been participating in theater for 3 years. He graduated from North Raleigh Christian Academy where he performed in Tarzan, White Christmas and West Side Story, where he played the part of Arab. This will be Anton’s first production with Raleigh Little Theatre and is very excited to be involved.

LAUREN BAMFORD (Fairy Godmother) is thrilled to return to the Raleigh Little Theatre stage! Recent theater credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Cary Players (Narrator), First Date at NRACT (Casey), and Cinderella at RLT (Cinderella). Thank you to her real family and her NC family for the endless love and support.

MADDIE BEHRENS (Mouse/Pony) is thrilled to be making her Raleigh Little Theatre debut. Maddie is in the 5th grade at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Her previous theatre credit includes being in the ensemble for NC Theatre Conservatory’s Oklahoma! She is currently a member of the Junior Live on Stage Company at NC Theatre Conservatory. She loves to dance, draw and sing. Her dream role is to play Glinda in Wicked. Maddie would like to thank her parents and her biggest cheerleader, her little sister Libby.

CAROLINE BRITT (Mouse/Pony) is a sixth grader at Martin Middle. Cinderella is her first “real” performance at Raleigh Little Theatre, but she loved being Charlie in Willy Wonka, Jr., with RLT’s Kids on Stage. Simba in Lion King Kids, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella Kids, and Qian-Po in Mulan, Jr., are some of her other favorite roles. Caroline wants to thank the directors and her family for their support, and she hopes you enjoy the show!

ROCKY CARR (Ensemble) is excited to be a part of the 35th anniversary production of Cinderella. While you would normally find him backstage as part of the crew for various Raleigh Little Theatre productions over the past 10 years, this will be his fourth onstage visit to the Land of Enchantment. Kudos to the entire production team for making this year’s Cinderella something truly special!

TREVON CARR (Ensemble) is currently auditioning for schools to continue his musical theater career. This will be Trevon’s first Raleigh Little Theatre and musical theater performance! Trevon is a bright spirit, and loves to learn and go outside his comfort zone.

DR. TIMOTHY CHERRY (Henrietta) is a retired art teacher who spends his time these days making and teaching hand built pottery at Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh. Most recently, he played Mrs. Bumbrake and Teacher in NRACT’s production of Peter and the Starcatcher. His roles at Raleigh Little Theatre include those in Me and My Girl (PARCHESTER), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (HYSTERIUM), The Pirates of Penzance (MAJOR-GENERAL STANLEY), The Man of LaMancha (SANCHO PANZA), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Ruthless: The Musical (SYLVIA), and, most recently, Spamalot (SIR BEDEVERE and GALAHAD’S MOTHER). He was honored with a Cantey award for his performance as FIPP in Urinetown: The Musical. Tim joined the Cinderella cast in the mid-nineties and has spent the better part of the subsequent twenty years playing straight woman to Dennis Poole, without whom he could not do this.

CC CHIAVETTA (Page One) is an eighth grader at Martin Middle School. She loves to ski whether it is on water or snow! This is CC’s third performance at Raleigh Little Theatre and her second time in Cinderella. She would like to thank her parents who have been so supportive in her drama pursuits as well as Mike McGee and the rest of the wonderful Cinderella team. She feels blessed to have this incredible opportunity!

CHELSEA CULLEN (Helper One) is making her Raleigh Little Theatre debut! A graduate of with a degree in Theatre Education, Chelsea recently returned from NYC where she studied with Lindsay Mendez and Ryan Scott Oliver, trained in clown work and performed in several short films. Previous roles include Judy Denmark in Ruthless! (Meredith Ensemble Theatre) and Bertie in The Corporated Secretaries (AlphaTheatre NYC). RACHEL DENNIS (Ensemble) is thrilled to join the cast of Cinderella for her first Raleigh Little Theatre production! Notable roles include Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Maria in The Sound of Music, and Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. She lives in Zebulon with her wonderful husband and their many pets. A huge thank you to Mike McGee, Joanna Li, and Jess Barbour for this amazing opportunity!

MICHAEL GILBERT-SINGLETARY (Ensemble) is making his Raleigh Little Theatre debut! Michael has a BA in Drama from UNCG, and has performed and directed in both NC and NYC. Favorites include Ensemble in Livin’ Out Loud (The Duplex, NYC), director of Preschool! A Pint-Sized Musical (West Village Musical Theatre Festival, NYC), Jacob Marley in Tim & Scrooge (Open Space Cafe Theatre, NC), Max Bialystock in The Producers, and director for Bram Stoker’s Dracula (High Point Community Theatre, NC).

AYDAN HANSEN (Ensemble) is pleased to be returning to the Raleigh Little Theatre stage in this year’s production of Cinderella. His last appearance was in Divas!, and he has since performed with WILO and the Cary Players, with his most recent onstage performance being Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Aydan thanks you for supporting local theatre.

BETH HILBERT (Mouse/Pony) is overjoyed to be performing for the first time at Raleigh Little Theatre! A fourth grader at Magellan Charter School, Beth has previously danced the role of Mouse in a local production of The Nutcracker. Seeing Cinderella at age 6 made her want to be a performer, and thanks her parents, family, teachers and friends who have supported her in making her dream come true!

IZ IBANEZ (Ensemble) is thrilled to be back at Raleigh Little Theatre for Cinderella XXXV after earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from Emory & Henry College. Credits include Golde (TOS Fiddler on the Roof ), Quilla the Quiet (RLT’s OPQRS, etc); Katie (Meet Me in St. Louis), and Banquo (Macbeth). Iz thanks the cast and crew for the joy they bring to rehearsal, her parents who love her; and her dogs—even though they can’t read.

TYRONE KIAKU (Ensemble) is a recent graduate of Western Carolina University (B.M. Music Performance). He has taken acting class at Raleigh Little Theatre and is thrilled to be making his Theatrical DEBUT in Cinderella. LAUREN KNOTT (Cinderella) is thrilled to be stepping back into the glass slippers for her fourth year with Cinderella. She has been a part of twelve productions with Raleigh Little Theatre, including her favorite role to date, Millie, in Perfect Arrangement. Other favorite performances at RLT include Memphis, Spamalot, and four years fundraising with Divas!. Other notable shows include Hairspray (Velma) with NCSU Theatre and Spring Awakening (Ilse), Xanadu (Kira), and Steel Magnolias (Annelle) with NRACT. Much love to cast and crew and extra love to my mom for being my number one fan, and even more supportive than a fairy godmother.

SAVANNAH LANGE (Mouse/Pony) is a 5th grader, Student Council President and News Anchor of Rand Rd. Elementary. This will be her first performance at Raleigh Little Theatre. Her favorite role is Lucy in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Savannah studies piano, guitar, ukulele, voice and acting. Savannah has one older sister, Madison, who is her best friend. Savannah sends much love to her parents, Jennifer and John Lange, the rest of her family, her friends, RLT, the cast, and her teachers who have all been so supportive of making her dreams a reality.

MIRANDA MILLANG-VALDIVIA (Helper Two) is so excited to make her Raleigh Little Theatre debut! She is a recent graduate from NC State with a BS in Fashion & Textile Management and spent her time outside of classes in the theatre. At NC State, her credits include Mary Bennet

CHRISTIAN MUCCI (Prince Charming) is a high school graduate pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts at Liberty University next year. Performing in his first Raleigh Little Theatre production, Christian is excited to work along such a talented and diverse cast, especially during the Christmas season! Into his fifth year of acting, he is also currently cast as Peter in Field of Dreams’ Peter and the Star Catcher. Christian would like to thank his family and Jesus for their unconditional love and devotion.

M. DENNIS POOLE (Gertrude) is thrilled to return for his 21st year as Gertrude; however, this is his 22nd year in Cinderella because he played King Darling III in 1987. Since making his Raleigh Little Theatre debut in 1984 in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dennis has performed in and worked backstage on over 100 shows. TJ ROGERS (King Darling III ) is a music teacher from Sanford, NC. This is his debut performance at Raleigh Little Theatre. TJ enjoys studying voice with Dr. Collins and serving as worship leader at White Plains United Methodist Church. CHARLEIGH SMITH (Ensemble) is a senior at North Carolina State University. She is honored to be participating in Cinderella for the second year in a row! Local credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Guys and Dolls with the Cary Players and Molly in NRACT’s Peter and the Starcatcher. HANNAH SMITH (Page Two) feels blessed to be a part of Raleigh Little Theatre’s 35th annual production of Cinderella. This is her first show at Raleigh Little Theatre. Other roles include Ariel in Footloose, Beth Bradley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Brenda in Hairspray. NATALIA SOTO (Ensemble) is jubilated to make her Raleigh Little Theatre debut in Cinderella. She was most recently seen in White Iris Light Opera’s production of Patience. Favorite credits include Wendla in Spring Awakening (NRACT) and Beth in Little Women (Women’s Theatre Festival). In January, you can see Natalia in Burning Coal’s production of Ashe in Johannesburg. When she’s not on stage, Natalia enjoys going to the skate park and the library. Thanks for supporting local theatre!

EMILY SPAIN (Ensemble) is a freshman at Meredith College and is excited to return to the Raleigh Little Theatre stage for this year’s production of Cinderella. PRODUCTION STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

JESS BARBOUR (Choreographer) is a full time actor, teacher, and Equity Member Candidate earning her BFA in Theatre from Elon University and studied at the Esper Studio in NYC. She is Raleigh Little Theatre’s Diva 2017! She has choreographed with St. David’s Episcopal School for 9 years and bounced all over the Triangle choreographing productions with NRACT, RLT, Apex HS, Meredith College, and Sanderson HS. Almost 10 years after performing in Cinderella, she is grateful to all for the opportunity to get to work on the other side of the table with this fantastic cast and crew!

DENNIS R. BERFIELD (Production Manager/Technical Director) is from South Williamsport Pennsylvania. He attended Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. He went on to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in Scenic Design and Technology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. During his time in undergraduate and graduate school, Dennis worked at various regional and off-Broadway theaters as a Scenic Artist, Carpenter, Master Carpenter, Scenic Designer, Assistant Technical Director, Scenic Coordinator, as well as many other backstage production roles. After working professionally for a number of years, Dennis became an adjunct professor at Millinkin University in Decatur, IL and eventually went on to become the Technical Director at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

MARIE BERRY (Mouse Nanny) is supervising the littlest cast members for her 16th year. She loves working back stage with auditions and dressing crews. During the day, she is a mild mannered librarian at Wiggins Memorial Library at Campbell University. Thank you to all of the Cinderella cast and crew especially mice and their parents and Mike McGee and Dan Eckert.

BRITTANY DINGLE (Assistant Choreographer) is very excited to part of Cinderella for the sweet, charming third time as assistant choreographer. She has been a member of the Raleigh Little Theatre family as a teaching artist, ASM for Alice @ Wonderland, and is very blessed to be part of such a thriving arts community. Her work includes make up assistant and more in middle schools production of the Lion King, assistant choreographer for Guys and Dolls at Cary Arts Center, and assistant director of Arsenic and Old Lace at the Renaissance in Wake Forest. She would like to thank all of her family and friends who support her at the forefront, background, and above! For Brendan!

DAN ECKERT (Stage Manager) joins Cinderella for his 19th year, previously as Assistant Stage Manager and Deck Crew Chief. He has served as Stage Manager and ASM on 30+ RLT productions, most recently Sister Act and Little Shop of Horrors. In addition to backstage and production staff roles on 120+ Raleigh Little Theatre productions, Dan enjoys helping theatres thrive—he is on the RLT and NRACT boards of directors, previously on theatre boards in Seattle and Washington DC. Professionally, Dan designs datacenters and leads teams of engineers. He also loves exploring the country on his motorcycle. Thank you to Mike, Tori, and Hannah—and all the wonderful cast and crew!

ALEC HAKLAR (Assistant Technical Director) is a New Jersey native who graduated from North Carolina State University in May 2017. Prior to Raleigh Little Theatre, Alec worked as a freelance scenic carpenter at NC State’s University Theatre, Two River Theater, New Jersey Repertory Company, , and the Berkshire Theatre Festival.

TORI HARDEN (Assistant Stage Manager) is excited to be returning for her fifth Raleigh Little Theatre production and her second Cinderella production! Tori has enjoyed working the past year with RLT and NCT on several productions. Some favorites were Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act, Newsies, and In the Heights. Tori wants to thank RLT and NCT for each and every opportunity, friends and family for their love and support, and God for the strength and courage in pursuing theatre.

He has done numerous other community theater shows; his favorite playing Rapunzel’s Prince in Into the Woods. A few of their most recent credits include assistant directing both The Curious Savage and Sylvia (FMT), and deck crew for Next to Normal (NRACT). TODD HOUSEKNECHT (Sound Designer) has been very active in Community Theater in the Raleigh area for 11 years, providing set construction, technical direction, lighting design and sound engineering assistance for organizations that include Raleigh Little Theatre, Cary Players, NRACT, Forest Moon, and others. Highlights include Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, Cinderella, Spamalot, Hedwig, Sweeney Todd, and many, many others.

JOANNA LI (Music Director, composer, keys) is thrilled to return to Cinderella at Raleigh Little Theatre for the third year! Recent projects include Once at Theatre Raleigh, Godspell at The Legacy Theatre (Atlanta,) and Cabaret at Playmakers Summer Youth Conservatory (Chapel Hill.) Future projects include Fun Home at Virginia Stage Company (Norfolk, VA) and Hair with Parallel 45 Theatre (Traverse City, MI.) Love to Andrea and Greta.

THOMAS MAUNEY (Props Master, Scenic Designer) has designed for Triangle companies including Raleigh Ensemble Players, NC Symphony, Theatre Raleigh, Capital Opera Raleigh, Actors Comedy Lab, Raleigh Dance Theater, Theatre in the Park, Deep Dish Theater Company, Raleigh Little Theater, Applause, Carolina Ballet, The Justice Theater Project and the Miss NC Pageant. For four seasons, Thomas served as Production Manager/Technical Director at The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and has spent several years on faculty at Peace College and Cardinal Gibbons High. He holds a BFA from UNC Greensboro and an MFA from the University of Montana, both in design for theatre and has been named to Who’s Who in Entertainment. His corporate event and museum work has taken him across North America and Europe.

MIKE McGEE (Director) is honored to be taking over as Director of Cinderella 35. Thank you to Rod and Nancy Rich for all they’ve done for the show since taking over for Haskell. Mike previously spent many years in many capacities with Cinderella including Stage Managing Haskell’s last 4 years and Rod and Nancy’s first year. Other favorite directing credits include Sylvia and The Curious Savage with Forest Moon Theatre and The Portrait of Laura with Sonorous Road. Also, an actor, favorite roles include Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman (both at Neuse Little Theatre) and Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple (Garner Towne Players). Thank you to this hard working and talented design team, cast and crew! Special thanks to my creative partners Jess and Jo! Love to Maggie, Jessica and Lilja.

VICKI OLSON (Costume Designer) is enjoying her 24th season with Raleigh Little Theatre. After receiving her MFA from UNC-G in 1985 she joined RLT as its first professional costume designer. Her creativity and fine work can be seen in countless productions including Spamalot, Hairspray, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Much Ado About Nothing, and Cinderella. She has enjoyed working with so many talented and wonderful people, this show being no exception, and hopes you enjoy seeing it.

RALEIGH LITTLE THEATRE XIII PRODUCTION STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

CHARLES PHANEUF (Executive Director) is a Raleigh native who returned to the area and to RLT in 2012. He was previously Managing Director of Joe’s Movement Emporium, a multi-disciplinary performing arts center located outside of Washington, DC, and Associate Managing Director at Shakespeare Theatre Company during the expansion into the Harman Center for the Arts. Charles is a founding member of the Capital Fringe Festival and Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, both in Washington. He is a UNC-Chapel Hill alumni, President-Elect of the Friends of the Gregg at NCSU, and is serving on the Dix Park Master Plan Advisory Committee. Charles was named “40 Under 40” by the Triangle Business Journal in 2014, and Tar Heel of the Week by the News and Observer in 2018.

PATRICK TORRES (Artistic Director) has been a professional director and educator for over 15 years. Prior to joining Raleigh Little Theatre, he served as a Directing Fellow at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Associate Artistic Director of Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT), and Director of Middle and High School Programs at Creative Action. His work as a freelance director has been seen at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Southwest Shakespeare Festival, Round House Theatre, The Source Festival, and the Hangar Theatre, among others. He served as the Assistant Director for The Glass Menagerie starring Sally Field at the Kennedy Center through an award given by the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. In 2003, he was selected as a Drama League Directing Fellow and in 2005 was named a Young leader of Color by the Theatre Communications Group. As an educator, he developed the After-School Playwriting Program for YPT which won the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from First Lady Michelle Obama in 2010. Patrick has a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi. He would like to thank his wife and family for their support.

CAILEN WADDELL (Lighting Designer) is excited to be designing another production at Raleigh Little Theatre. He believes he has squeezed more lighting fixtures into this theater than have ever been here before and is quite proud of this. He would like to thank his wife, Liz, for listening to the soundtrack of the show on repeat for weeks at a time while he worked on the lighting cues.

HANNAH WOLFERT (Assistant Stage Manager) has worked backstage for countless shows in multiple community theatres since moving to Raleigh five years ago. Among her favorites have been Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Raleigh Little Theatre), Dogfight (North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre), and Rock of Ages (Theatre Raleigh). This is her fourth year helping backstage with RLT’s Cinderella, and her first time ASMing at RLT! She is thrilled to be working with such a talented group of people!
