ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2018 – COMPETITION REPORT

Once again it has been a busy year for the clubs and Schools.

The National Schools Competition was in the Autumn term for the girls and Spring term for the boys.

The girls competition results were as follows:- U18 Winners - Runners up King's School Bruton U16 Winners - Millfield Runners up U14 Winners - Millfield Runners ups

For the boys the format of the competition changed to a Round Robin and started in the morning through to tea time. The opinion of the teams was that they thought it was a fairer competition as it gave every team more playing time, and a better chance of succeeding. The format will be adopted for the girls in the Autumn term onwards.

The boys results were as follows:- U16 winners - King's College Taunton Runners up King's School Bruton U14 winners - Taunton School Runners up King's College Taunton

In future the Committee will set the dates of these Competitions at their May meeting after which Schools wishing to hold a National Schools Competition must register their desire to do so but the criteria is as follows:-

- 2 astro turf pitches near each other - easily accessible changing rooms and toilets - parking available near the pitches.

In future the Committee will administer all competitions - NSC, Schools Indoor, Prep: Schools In2Hockey Competition so that any school in Somerset has the opportunity to enter these tournaments Independent as well as State.

The Junior Clubs Competitions went well this year with the weather sabotaging only one tournament - U10's. We wish all those representing Somerset at the Regional tournament the best of luck.

Clubs Indoor - It would be great if more clubs both Junior and Senior would enter this competition.

Somerset Cup - Once again a successful competition with Yeovil and Sherborne winning both the Men's and the Ladies.
