3 PROLOG

This wee book simply and hopefully clearly shows you where in the Holy Bible, King Jesus Himself said He was/ is really God The Creator of all things while on a Royal visit to planet Earth. King Jesus came down from His capital, Heaven to Israel in 3B.C. & departed to Heaven H.Q. in A.D. 30. He is still The Creator controlling the universe and ultimate Judge. As you read this book please take care to follow these rules: 1. Read all things in their 1 st century A.D. JEWISH ISRAELI CONTEXT 2. If you do not follow rule 1 then you will be putting your own preconceived biases into the text. 3. The Israel of 3 B.C. to A.D. 30 was a deeply religious society despite the Roman Empire’s colonialism of the land of Israel. Despite the many competing groups in Israel every Jew knew the TeNaK (First or Old Covenant) rule that BLASPHEMY was punishable by DEATH by STONING . Blasphemy was defined as any man daring to be equal to the unseen God. 4. Israel believed in ONE God. And along came King Jesus….. 5. No pious Jew dared to call God ‘ MY Father’. Jews would say ‘ OUR Father ‘ but not MY. 6. In the essence of God, HE is FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT that is 1 x 1 x 1 = 1 GOD not three! 7. Read the ‘TRIUNITY IN THE UNIVERSE ‘BOOKS for the evidence. In this book we are looking at the places where King Jesus says He is GOD in The Flesh. King Jesus had many opportunities to refuse worship but He accepted it ! A good prophet does not do this . KING JESUS told satan to worship God but King Jesus accepted worship ! Dr Luke 4:6-8 And the devil said unto HIM, All this Power will I give you, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If THOU therefore will worship me , all shall be YOURS. And Y'SHUA answered and said unto him, Get thee behind ME, satan: for it is written, you shall worship THE LORD (YAHWEH) thy GOD , and HIM ONLY shall you serve. (Deut 10:20). Yes satan desires worship but King Jesus accepted worship as you will see.

The 4 th gospel record is commonly called John but the Bible not tradition shows it should be ‘Gospel of Lazarus’ to be more accurate — exactly the same historical data though.

4 EVIDENCE 1

The LORD JESUS Himself claimed to be God.

Thinking others recognized Him as God. Do you? He said, " I and the Father are one ." ( Lazarus10:30 KING JESUS BIBLE ) The New Covenant (Testament) literally says the Lord Jesus said, "I and The Father, WE are ONE [in total essence]." The Lord Jesus also claimed that He is the only way anyone comes to God: "I AM THE Way, and THE TRUTH, and THE Lif e; no one comes to The Father, but through Me ." ( Lazarus14:6) Again, it is very clear. The Lord Jesus used the definite article "the " rather than "a" when He stated He is ‘the way’ and not ‘a way’. Also note that He says, He Himself is THE TRUTH to God . Anyone or anything apart from HIM is a lie or a liar leading people away from God thus Islam or Hinduism or any other philosophy is automatically a lie. No ifs no buts. The Lord Jesus also says He Himself is THE LIFE to God. All other things are dead things, thus Islam, Marxism, Rabbincal Judaism, Buddhism etc are all dead things not life giving to God. In this small book we are going to give you historical evidence about King Jesus claims to be God THE Creator.

THE OTHER JEWS OF ISRAEL --

ONE NATION UNDER ONE GOD

Israel in A.D. 30 was a STRICT ONE – GOD society with a very zealous religious police — e.g. Lazarus 7:32. In such a society any ordinary looking human being claiming to be GOD would be legally stoned to death (technically for the offence of blasphemy).

5

But what if there was a male Jewish citizen of Israel who in reality was God, walking and talking as a human being in Israel ? Yes what if? Lazarus 7:45-53 (KING JESUS BIBLE) Take a close look at the reactions of these 1 st century A.D. educated Jews of Israel as they inspected what the Lord Jesus did and said about Himself --- not what 20 th century Muslims or liberals do today .

The 1st century A.D. Israel context is vital

Mark 1:8-11 GOD THE FATHER SAID HE WAS It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee , and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove .

Then a voice came from Heave n, You are MY SON THE BELOVED , in whom I am well pleased ."

Anyone want to argue with God THE Father?

I don’t.

6 IF GOD CAME TO EARTH WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM HIM TO PROVE HIS IDENTITY?

Actually, the God of Israel Himself came down as a man and walked with humans. We see Him on the dusty road with Avraham, agreeing to spare Sodom if only ten righteous souls are found there (Genesis 18). We see Him in the form of a man wrestling with Yacov (Gen. 32:24-30). We see Him standing by the door of the tabernacle talking with Moses face to face as to a friend (Exodus 33:9-11) So when we see Him in the its not really that surprising.

WHAT KIND of God is He? He is the omnipotent Creator Who could speak worlds into existence by the word of His mouth (Psalm 33: 6, 9). He is a distant God (He dwells in the high and holy place) but He also is near (He dwells with the contrite and the humble -- Isaiah 57:15). His holiness and majesty are overpowering (Ex. 20:18-19) but He comes down to live with His people (Ex. 25:8) Amazingly, this omnipotent Creator of the universe is intensely involved with the creatures He made, communicating with them by direct appearances, angels, and prophets.

The highest revelation of God in the Holy Bible is The Law, delivered to Moses by God from Mount Sinai amid smoke and fire, thunder and lightning, and trumpet blast (Ex. 19:16-19). There God revealed His glory to Moses -- “the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, . . . forgiving iniquity and transgression” (Ex. 34:6-7). We see His intense emotions in His stormy relationship with Israel -- His love and His grief at her frequent infidelities. His wrath was fearsome, but His compassion and mercy boundless. He made total demands on His people -- that they love Him with all their heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5).

And King Jesus?

What would this God be like if He were to enter the human race through the womb of a human mother, grow up as a child into manhood, brush shoulders with peasants and kings, Jews and Gentiles, sinners and saints? If King Jesus is really God in human flesh did He really portray the character of God?

As a human being king Jesus was unique . He has no equal in history. His influence has extended farther in time and space than that of any other person. Through the centuries king Jesus has inspired the greatest 7 art, literature, and music, as well as the greatest devotion, ever seen in this world. His reactions to human dilemmas were so creative and original, His life was so compassionate, so self-sacrificing, that the gospel writers could not have fabricated him. Much of the time they themselves did not understand Him.

If you are a Jew for example , chances are you have never encountered the real Lord Jesus. You have glimpsed Him through accounts of pogroms, persecutions, inquisitions, and the denunciations of Islamic jihads, Roman Catholic popes and some Protestant Reformers. Your ancestors have fled from country to country, seeking a safe haven from His followers. The cross makes you shudder, along with the taunt that you killed King Jesus. Christians deeply regret the abuses perpetrated against the Jewish people in the name of the Jewish King Jesus. But we feel that if only these historic barriers could be broken down, and you could understand the real King Jesus, you would admire Him too. After all King Jesus is 100% Jewish. And the first Christians were all Jewish!

King Jesus’ Character

King Jesus’ character, while irresistible to many, was scandalous to others. It both attracted and repelled. It can best be expressed in the one word, love .

He loved His people, the Jews, stating that His mission was first to “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew Levi 15:24). But they resented being called “lost sheep.” Their rejection stung Him deeply. Yet He devoted most of His ministry to His own people.

The problem with His love was that it was universal and could not be confined to any one nation or class . He embraced humanity in whatever form he encountered it. He respected Gentiles, ate their food, and slept in their houses, extending to them a place in the family of God (Lazarus 4:40). He felt at home with rich and poor, high and low. He accepted the hospitality of the rich, but refused to be influenced by money or power. He taught them to give their wealth to the poor. In an age when women were lesser citizens, with few rights and privileges, King Jesus brought them into His inner circle of followers, educated them, and gave them positions of leadership (Dr Luke 8:1-3; Acts 1:12-14).

8 In these contacts His life was never touched by

scandal.

His every act was scrutinized diligently by the paparazzi of his day, and they found His life transparently pure.

He also loved children, taking them in His arms and blessing them. He admired the humility and affectionate nature of children (Matt Levi 18:2-4). He said it was a terrible sin for anyone to cause a child to sin -- it was better for such a one to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and be drowned in the depth of the sea (v. 6). What does He say about the sexual abuse of children today?

Most scandalous to the orthodox was His association with morally degraded people -- prostitutes, tax-collectors who collaborated with the Romans, and even drunkards, robbers, and murderers. To Him no human being, however degraded, was beyond hope. He stated “Those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick. I came not to call ‘the righteous,’ but sinners to repentance” (Matt. 9:12). To every repentant sinner He extends God’s forgiveness with the power to live a transformed life.

He has boundless compassion for the suffering and afflicted . Most of King Jesus’ ministry was spent in healing people -- turning pain and grief into hope and joy. He had miraculous power to heal the sick -- quadriplegics, lepers, the blind, deaf, and insane. Secular historians give a certain amount of credibility to the miracle stories. The charges of His enemies that He performed miracles by the power of demons confirm that something beyond the ordinary was happening (Matt. 12:24). The Jewish Talmud acknowledges His miracles by calling Him a sorcerer. His most spectacular miracle was raising a man called Lazarus to life after he had been dead four days and his body stank (Lazarus 11:38-44 ). His miracles -- the exercise of creative power -- gave evidence to the people of His day that He was God.

The purity of King Jesus’ life was so repulsive to human nature that it aroused bitter opposition . He was constantly pursued by enemies seeking to destroy him. The world could endure him for only thirty- 9 three years before assassinating Him. He was always aware of the shortness of His life -- that He had only a few hours to work before night closed in on Him. How does one maintain sanity in the face of constant danger? Besides depending upon His Father’s protection until His work was done, He allowed no hatred to embitter His soul. He looked upon His betrayer, His judges, His executioners, with pity. “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” was His prayer as the spikes were pounded into his flesh (Dr Luke 23:34).

King Jesus’ Anger

Like the God of the TeNaK Scriptures, King Jesus exhibited wrath. He deplored selfish ambition -- the seeking of the highest place He hated hypocrisy -- the affecting of holiness to cover up sin. He said that public prayer, alms-giving, and fasting done to win the praise of others was not recognized by God (Matt. 6:1-6; compare Amos 5:21-24). Those who depended on their good works for acceptance with God -- who refused to recognize their lostness -- placed themselves beyond His ability to save them. The self-righteous felt no need, and so

cut themselves off from His power to save.

He fearlessly denounced the commercialization of religion. Each time He caught merchants swindling the worshipers in the temple, he threw over their tables, scattered their coins, and drove them out (Lazarus 2: 13-16; Matt Levi 21:12-13).

Ironically, King Jesus directed His most shocking denunciations toward the Pharisees -- the most religious of the Jews.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men ; for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees , hypocrites! for you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of extortion and rapacity. You blind Pharisee! first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the plate, that the outside also may be clean . . . .

10 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you build the tombs of the prophets . . . saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ . . . You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechariah . . . whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Truly, I say to you, all this will come upon this generation (Matt Levi. 23:13, 25, 29-36).

From Abel to Zechariah includes the whole of the Jewish Scriptures!

He said this three days before He was assassinated at their instigation. But then He broke down and wept.

O , Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! Behold, your house is forsaken and desolate (vv. 37-38).

Forty years later in AD 70 the temple was destroyed .

King Jesus’ Teachings

King Jesus is simply the greatest teacher in history . Vast crowds -- intelligentsia and peasants, men and women, old and young -- hung spell- bound by his words and astounding miracles. They forgot their hunger and the passage of time. He used common illustrations -- planting, baking, fishing, shepherding, keeping accounts -- to teach profound truths. He found in the natural world the same principles that operate in the spiritual world. The nations of the world use the lion, the bear, the dragon to represent their might. King Jesus illustrated the spread of his kingdom by the power of seeds to grow and produce a rich harvest (Matt Levi. 13:1-9, 18-23).

11 He told familiar stories, but gave them a surprising twist . The man God accepts is not the “saint” who boasts of his tithe-paying and abstinence from fleshly sins, but the sinner who cries to God for mercy (Dr Luke 18:9-14). The model neighbor is not the clergyman who passes by a victim of violence, but a hated foreigner who goes out of his way to give aid (Dr Luke 10:25- 37). Day laborers in a vineyard all get paid the same, whether they worked all day or only for the last hour (Matt. 20:1-16). The son who gets partied is not the one who faithfully worked the farm, but the one who came home in tatters after squandering a chunk of the family fortune (Dr Luke 15:11-32). By these startling illustrations King Jesus explained God’s mercy for the undeserving who feel their need and the danger of those who trust their own goodness and feel no need.

While the theme of most religions is man’s search for God, King Jesus represented God as searching for man -- a shepherd

seeking his lost sheep, a woman looking for a lost coin, a father rolling out the welcome mat to a rebellious son (Matt. 18:10-14; Dr Luke 15).

His teachings were revolutionary for his day and ours .

He taught love for one’s enemies, doing good in return for evil, destroying enemies by making friends of them -- principles of non-violence adopted by Gandhi and Martin Luther King (Matt. 5:38-48). In view of the boundless mercy of God toward sinners, King Jesus taught that we as sinners should forgive one another or God would not forgive us (Matt. 18:21-35).

King Jesus redefined greatness . He did not measure it by wealth or prestige or power. He deliberately shunned them so that people would be attracted to him only by the beauty of his character.

His concept of ruler-ship was extraordinary . Rather than climbing the ladder to succeed, he taught descending the ladder to serve. “Whoever would be first of all must be last of all.” Rather than oppressing the masses by ruling over them, he taught empowering the masses by serving them.

Whoever would be great among you must be your servant , and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even 12 as The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:26-28).

It was not beneath His dignity -- rather, it was an evidence of His divinity! -- to kneel down and wash the dirty feet of His disciples, including the one who betrayed Him to death.

What would the world be like if government officials lived by the ethic of King Jesus, to rule by serving ? How many dictators siphon off the cream of their national economies to enrich themselves with palaces, yachts, and jets, while their people live in squalor!

King Jesus advocated radical self sacrifice . He compared successful living to seed buried in the ground where it appears to die but later yields a rich harvest (Lazarus 12:24). To bury one’s life in the furrow of the world’s need -- to lose one’s life in service to humanity -- promotes the highest self-development and richest rewards. The greatest disillusionment with life comes from self-seeking. King Jesus expressed this concept with the paradox: “Whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for My sake, he will save it” (Dr Luke 9:24). He demanded a total response from His followers -- that they love Him more than family or possessions or life itself.

King Jesus’ life fits the description of the prophet Isaiah:

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon ME, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion - to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit (Isa. 61:1-3). 13 The Radical Effect of King Jesus’ Life

What moves Christians to the depth of their being is their understanding that God did not send a substitute to help their tormented world – HE Himself came down and suffered with us and gave His life a ransom to redeem us. He left the throne of the universe and the adoration of heavenly angels to become a servant to His rebellious creation. Such sacrifice, such love, creates in us a desire to be like Him.

It is this love for King Jesus that drives Christians to the ends of the earth -- to malarial tropics, parched deserts, and arctic lands -- where they have often laid down their lives in their zeal to spread the good news of salvation. The love of King Jesus leads them to see potential in every human being -- the head- hunters and cannibals of Pacific isles, the untouchables of India, the drunkards and addicts of the inner city. To lift up the fallen, they establish schools, welfare centers, churches,

and hospitals. Through their efforts deprived peoples of the world have been transformed into farmers, teachers, nurses, doctors, and statesmen.

The love of King Jesus led William Carey to translate the Scriptures into many languages of India, to establish a university there, and to persuade the government to pass a law against sati , the practice of burning a widow on her husband’s funeral pyre.

The love of King Jesus led David Livingstone to penetrate the deepest jungles of Africa, where at last his heart

14 was buried under a mvulu tree in Zambia , to open up routes for

trade and the gospel.

The love of King Jesus drove Hudson Taylor into the interior of China where he buried his beloved wife and seven of his children, to introduce the Chinese people to their Creator God. The love of King Jesus led William Wilberforce to mount a twenty-year crusade in the English Parliament to abolish the slave trade.

The love of King Jesus drove Samuel Morris- Prince Kaboo to be used

as a great missionary from Africa to the USA

It is love for king Jesus that enables Christians to endure persecution -- destruction of property, rape, torture, imprisonment, and death - - for his sake. In horrifying hell-holes Christians have witnessed to their torturers -- Inquisitors, Nazis, Communists, Muslims -- sometimes melting the hearts of their oppressors by returning good for evil.

It is love for King Jesus that drives Christians to disaster areas of the world to bring relief to lands wasted by tsunamis, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes. They consider it a privilege to minister to the needy, regardless of race, religion, or status.

15 King Jesus’ wonderful character has not been properly reflected by his followers throughout the centuries. After His death, thousands of Jews became His disciples, based on personal contact with Him and His contemporaries. Could contemplative Jews of today see in this historical King Jesus what these first-century Jewish followers did? Lets summarize : IF GOD CAME TO EARTH I would see Him:

TEACH ---- as no man has taught before or since King Jesus taught with power, authority and in parables. DO MIRACLES ---- as signs of His identity HIS BIRTH – entrance to planet earth would be miraculous SHOW AMAZING LOVE ---- to sinners BE IN CONTROL OVER CREATION The winds, storm obey Him BE WITHOUT SIN – yet all men and women are sinners God has no sin. King Jesus has no sin. OVERCOME DEATH -- since death overcomes all men and women. King Jesus’ resurrection proves this. HISTORY would be divided — we have B.C. and A.D.

Yes God has personally visited us!

Lazarus 1:43-51 -- THE SURPRISED JEW -- NATHANEL

Now Philip was from Bethsaida , the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, " We have found Him of whom Moses in the Torah (law), and also the Neviim (prophets), wrote -- Jesus of Nazareth, The Son of Joseph." And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, " Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!" 48 Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael answered and said to Him ,

16 "Rabbi, You are The Son of God!

You are the King of Israel!" 50 Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these." And He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and th e angels of God ascending and descending upon The Son of Man."

QUESTION: How did King JESUS SEE Nathanael? Only God can see like this.

For the eyes of The LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him — 2 Chron 16:9

THE MAGI WORSHIP KING JESUS

You will seek ME and find ME when you seek ME with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

Those we least expect to honor King Jesus may worship Him, and those we least expect to oppose Him may seek His death . Matthew Levi 2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in , during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is HE Who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star when it rose and have come to WORSHIP HIM .”

17

When King Herod heard this he was disturbed , and all Jerusalem with him. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for The Child. As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”

QUES: The aliens, the magi came to worship King Jesus. Why? They followed the star to King Jesus The Creator. Deuteronomy 4:29 says, “But if from there you seek YAHWEH your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and with all your soul’. King Herod knew this but his heart wasn’t really in worshipping King Jesus. He was a murderer. You cannot lie to God. What about you?

Not only did the wise men bring gold to confess their submission to the King, but they also brought incense to worship Him.

INCENSE was used in worship at the temple in Jerusalem . It was used in thanksgiving and praise gifts to God. The incense gave the meal offerings their pleasant aroma.

Our lives as believers are to be “a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God” (Phil. 4:18).

These wise men pointed to our great High Priest who was without sin , and the perfect offering He gave to The Father. He was always a pleasing aroma to His Father.

The wise men laid another gift at the feet of king Jesus. It was a gift that reminds us of the death of the perfect sacrifice for sin.

MYRRH was another aromatic fragrance . Nicodemus brought a hundred pounds of myrrh and aloes to prepare the body of king Jesus for burial after he took Him down from the cross.

The myrrh reminds us that King Jesus The Son of God, “took up our iniquities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him and afflicted.” King Jesus “was pierced for our transgressions,

18 He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon

Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”

What will you bring to King Jesus today? GOLD, incense, myrrh —gifts for a king. Have you acknowledged His right to rule over your life because He is the sinless One who gave Himself as a sacrifice for your sins? Wise men still seek the presence of the King and worship Him. Are you a wise person? Here is more evidence………

THE LEPER WORSHIPS KING JESUS

Matthew Levi 8:1-4

When HE was come down from the Mountain , Great Multitudes followed HIM. 2 And Pay Attention, there came a LEPER and WORSHIPPED HIM ,

19 saying, LORD , if THOU will, THOU can make me clean. and Y’SHUA put forth HIS hand, and touched HIM, saying, I will; be thou clean. and immediately his tzara'at (leprosy) was cleansed 4 And Y’SHUA says unto HIM, See you tell no man; but go your way, show yourself to the Cohen (Priest) and offer the gift that Moshe (Moses) commanded, for a testimony unto them.

QUESTIONS: Who did the leper worship here? If King Jesus is not God why did He not tell the leper NOT to worship Him? That’s what a good prophet of God like Moses would say.

He normally ticked off the Scribes or Pharisees when they were in error. Why didn’t King Jesus tell the leper not to call him LORD?

THE JEWISH RULER WORSHIPS KING JESUS

Matthew Levi 9:10-17 And it came to pass, as Y’SHUA reclined at meat in the house, behold, many Tax Collectors and Sinners came and sat down with HIM and HIS Disciples and when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto HIS Disciples,

Why does your Teacher (Rabbi) Eat with Tax Collectors and Sinners? 12 But when Y’SHUA heard that, HE said unto them, They that be whole (strong) need not a Doctor,

20 but they that are sick but go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice : for I AM not come to call the righteous, but Sinners to Repentance . 9:14 Then came to HIM the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft , but THY Disciples fast not? And Y’SHUA said unto them, Can the children of the Bride Chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. No man puts a piece of New Cloth unto an old Garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the tear is made worse 9:17 Nor do men put New Wine into old wine skins: else the wine-skins burst, and the wine runs out, and the skins perish: but they put new wine into new wine-skins, and both are preserved together. Pay Attention (behold), there came a certain Ruler ,

and WORSHIPPED HIM , saying , My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay THY hand upon her, and she shall live. 19 And Y’SHUA arose, and followed him, and so did HIS Disciples. 20 And, Pay Attention ( behold), a WOMAN

, who was diseased with an Issue of Blood (Hemorrhage) for 12 Years, came behind HIM, and touched the hem of HIS Garment for she kept saying within herself , If I may but touch HIS Garment, I shall be whole but Y’SHUA turned HIM about, and when HE saw her, HE said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith has made thee whole. and the woman was made whole from that hour . 21 23 And when Y’SHUA came into the Ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the people making a noise HE said unto them, Go out for the maid (korasion) is not dead, but sleeps. and they laughed HIM to scorn but when the people were put forth, HE went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And this report thereof went abroad into all that land.

QUES: Did you notice King Jesus did not rebuke the Jewish Ruler’s worship of Him? Didn’t this Israeli ruler know only God is to be worshipped?

THE HEALED WOMAN

9:20 The Torah stipulated all Jews to wear a fringe or tazzel on all four corners of the outer garment with one thread of deep blue on each tazzel. The "garment" King Jesus wore was an outer cloak that most Jewish men wear-- modern equivalent of a prayer shawl or the Talit in Hebrew. There are tassels (tziotziot) on the four corners of this garment.

These tassels had specific from and design. The numerical value of the tassels adds up to 613. They are symbolic of a need for every Jewish man to remember the 613 commandments of God. The desperate woman wanted healing. She was not bending at the feet of King Jesus just to touch the edge of His gown. She was touching the tassels that hung from the Talti (Prayer Shawl) King Jesus wore because she knew that He was more than just a Rabbi from Galilee. She thought the fullness of the Godhead was in Him (613 Commandments). That is why she risked being ridiculed as an unclean woman just to touch the hem of his garment (the tassels of his talit). She knew that when she lay hold of "God's Commandments", she would lay hold of the totality of God which would in turn, heal her. This passage shows King Jesus is fully God because only God can heal!

22 THE DISCIPLES @ SEA WORSHIP KING JESUS

Matthew Levi 14: 24-33 But the Ship was now in the center of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the 4th Watch of the night Y’SHUA went unto them walking on the sea . 26 And when the disciples saw HIM walking on the sea , they were troubled, saying , It is a phantom (phantasma-spirit) ; and they cried out for fear but straightaway Y’SHUA spoke unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

14:28 And Peter answered HIM and said, LORD, if it be THOU, bid me come unto THEE on the water and HE said, Come. and when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water,

to go to Y’SHUA. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink (katapontizomai), he cried, saying, LORD, Save me. and immediately Y’SHUA Stretched forth HIS hand, and Caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, why did you doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and WORSHIPPED (proskuneo) HIM , saying, Of a truth THOU ART THE SON OF GOD .

23 14:34-35 And when they were gone over, they came into the Land of Gennesaret . And when the men of that place had knowledge of HIM, they sent out into all that country round about, 14:35-36 and brought unto HIM all that were diseased; And begged HIM that they might only touch the hem of HIS Garmen t: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole (diasozo).

WOMAN OF CANAAN WORSHIPS KING JESUS

MATTHEW LWEVI 15:-22-28 And, behold, a Woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto HIM, saying , Have mercy (pity) on me, O LORD, THOU SON of David; my daughter is grievously possessed with a demon (devil). K J 23 But HE answered her not a word. W 23 And HIS Disciples came and begged HIM, saying, Send her away; for she cries after us. K J 24 But HE answered and said, I AM not sent but unto the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. W 25 Then came she and WORSHIPPED (proskuneo ) HIM, saying, LORD, help me.

K J 26 But HE answered and said , It is not fair to take the children's bread,

and to cast it to dogs. W 27 And she said, Truth, LORD : even the little (pet) dogs (c.f . 2 Kings 8:13,1 Sam 17:43) eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. K J 28 Then Y’SHUA answered and said unto her, O woman, Great is thy faith : be it unto thee even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

QUES: Did you notice King Jesus did not rebuke the Woman of Canaan worship of Him? He didn’t tell her, ’ Don’t call me LORD’

ZEBEDEE FAMILY WORSHIP KING JESUS

Matthew 20:17 And Y’SHUA going up to Jerusalem took The 12 Disciples apart in the way, and said unto them Pay Attention (Behold), we go up to Jerusalem; and THE SON OF MAN shall be Betrayed unto the Chief Priests and unto the Scribes, and they shall Condemn HIM to Death, and shall Deliver HIM to the Gentiles to Mock, and to Scourge, and to Crucify HIM: and The Third day HE shall Rise Again . A 20:20-21 Then came to HIM the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, WORSHIPPING HIM, and desiring a certain thing of HIM. And HE said unto her, What will thou? She says unto HIM, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on THY Right Hand, and the other on the left, in THY Kingdom. B 22-23 But Y’SHUA answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of The Cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with The Baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto HIM, We are able. and HE said unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on MY Right hand, and on MY Left , is not MINE to give but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of MY FATHER.

25 C 20:24 And when The Ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. B 20:25-26 But Y’SHUA called them unto HIM, and said, Ye know that the Princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them but it shall not be so among you: A 20:26-27 but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your servant; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant even as THE SON OF MAN came not to be served unto, but to serve, and to give HIS LIFE a ransom for many

POST RESURRECTION ISRAEL WORSHIP OF KING JESUS

Matthew Levi 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Y’SHUA, WHO was Crucified HE is not here: for HE is Risen, as HE said. Come, See the place where THE LORD lately lay. X 7 And go quickly, and tell HIS Disciples that HE is Risen from the Dead;

and, behold, HE goes before you into Galilee; there shall ye see HIM: lo, I have told you. Y 8 And they departed quickly from the Sepulchre with fear and great joy; Y 8 and did run to bring HIS Disciples word.

26

W 9-10 And as they went to tell HIS Disciples, Pay Attention (Behold), Y’SHUA met them, saying, All hail. and they came and held HIM by the feet, and WORSHIPPED HIM Then said Y’SHUA unto them, Be not afraid: go tell MY brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see ME.

Note: Disciples worshipped King Jesus after His resurrection. King Jesus accepted it. Wow. Notice what King Jesus says after they worshipped Him.

GALILEE: 11 APOSTLES WORSHIP KING JESUS

Matthew Levi 28:16 Then the Eleven Disciples went away into Galilee, into a Mountain where Y’SHUA had appointed them. and when they saw HIM, they WORSHIPPED HIM : but some doubted. and Y’SHUA came and spoke unto them , saying, All Power is given unto ME in Heaven and in Earth. Ab 28:19 Go ye therefore, and Teach all nations, Baptizing them in THE NAME OF THE FATHER, and OF THE SON, and OF THE RUACH HA-KODESH (THE HOLY SPIRIT): teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and, lo, I AM with you always, even unto the End of the World. Amen.

27

QUES: Did you notice King Jesus did not rebuke the Apostles’ worship of Him on the Mountain? Instaed of rebuking them for worshipping Him he tells them He has ‘’ All Power is given unto ME in Heaven and in Earth’’. How can King Jesus be with us always even unto the End of the World? Only God can do this.

THE SICK MAN - KING JESUS FORGIVER OF SINS Mark 2:1-14 And again HE entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that HE was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on

which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you ." And some of The Scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this Man speak BLASPHEMIES like this? Who can forgive sins BUT GOD ALONE?" But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? "Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise, take up your bed and walk'?

28 "But that you may know that The Son of Man has Power on earth to forgive sins"-- He said to the paralytic,

"I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go your way to your house." Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God , saying, " We never saw

anything like this!" Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them. As He passed by, He saw Levi ben Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me ." So he arose and followed Him.

THE TOMB MAN WORSHIPS KING JESUS

MARK 4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, HE said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had dismissed the crowd they took HIM along as HE was in the boat And there were also with HIM other little boats. B 4:37-41 And there arose a Great Wind-Storm, and the waves were beating into the boat so that it was filled already and HE was on the stern of the boat sleeping on the headrest and they awakened HIM and said unto HIM , MASTER carest THOU not that we perish? 39 And HE arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,'' Shalom (Peace) , be still !. And the wind ceased, and there was a Great Calm.

29 40 And HE said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, WHO then is this ONE that even the wind and the sea obey HIM? Lazarus 3:22-35 JOHN THE BAPTIZER ’S TESTIMONY –

THE ONE FROM ABOVE

After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea , and there He remained with them and baptized. Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. For John had not yet been thrown into prison. Then there arose a dispute between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purification. And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified-- behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!" 31 John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven. "You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not The Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before Him. ' "He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom,

who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. 30 "He must increase, but I must decrease. "HE Who comes FROM ABOVE is above all ; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. HE Who comes FROM Heaven is ABOVE al l. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. "He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 35-36 " The Father loves The Son, and has given ALL things into His hand. "He who believes in The Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe The Son shall not see life, but the Wrath of God abides on him ."

QUESTIONS: Where did King Jesus come from? Heaven or earth? John the Baptizer was sent by God as the forerunner of King Jesus. What testimony does he give in verses 35-36? What happens if you deny The Father and The Son? Wrath means ‘’very strong anger’’. Is it not dangerous to have God’s anger at you?

32 Lazarus 5 1-47 THE SABBATH BREAKING MIRACLE

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, " Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered Him, " Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." 8 Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured,

"It is the Sabbath it is not lawful for you to carry your bed."

He answered them, "He who made me well said to me, 'Take up your bed and walk.' Then they asked him, "Who is the Man who said to you, 'Take up your bed and walk'?" But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you." 15-18 The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus , and sought to kill Him , because He had done these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, 33 "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working so the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself EQUAL with God.

19-23 Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees The Father do; for whatever He does , The Son also does in like manner . "For The Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these , that you may marvel . "For as The Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so The Son gives life to whom He will. "For The Father judges no one, but has committed all

judgment to THE SON "that all should hono r The Son just as they honor The Father. He who does not honor The Son does not honor The Father Who sent Him . 24-27 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. "Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is , when the dead will hear The Voice of The Son of God; and those who hear will live.

34 "For as The Father has life in Himself, so He has granted The Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is The Son of Man. 28 " Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth -- those who have done good, to the Resurrection of Life, and those who have done evil, to the Resurrection of Condemnation. 30 "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. "There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. 36 "But I have a greater witness than John's; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish -- the very works that I do-- bear witness of Me, that The Father has sent Me . And The Father Himself, Who sent Me, has testified of Me . You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. But you do not have His word abiding in you, because Whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 –47 You search The Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which Testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. I do not receive honor from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. I have come in My Father's Name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? "Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one

who accuses you -- Moses, in whom you trust. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me ; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

Questions: What do King Jesus’ Works show? Who is The Father? Why did The Father send The Son? Verses 19-23 Do you honor The Son exactly like The Father? Who judges the world? Whose voice do dead people hear at the Resurrection? Verse 15-17 Who is Lord of the Sabbath? Why did the Jews want to murder King Jesus in verses 15-18?

35 Lazarus 6:22-71 IS HE REALLY THE BREAD FROM HEAVEN?

On the following day , when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone--however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks-- when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. 25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here ?" Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which The Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him." Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, " This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent." so they said to Him, "What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do? 31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" 32 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 " For The bread of God is He who comes down from Heaven

and gives Life to the world ." Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always." And Jesus said to them, "I AM T he Bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe .All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

36 For I have come down From Heaven , not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees The Son and believes in Him may have Everlasting Life; and I will raise him up at the last day." 41 The Jews then

complained about Him, because He said, "I AM The Bread which came down from Heaven." And they said, "Is not this Jesus ben Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I have come down from Heaven'?" 43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

45-51 "It is written in the Prophets,( Isa 54:13 )'And they shall all be taught by

God .' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from The Father COMES TO ME .

"Not that anyone has seen The Father, except He who is from God; He has seen The Father. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. " I AM the bread of Life . Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

37 I AM The Living Bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall

give for the life of the world." 52 The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves , saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?" Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life , and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. "This is the Bread which came down from Heaven -- not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."

59 These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum. Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can understand it?" When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you? What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. but there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father . From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are THE MESSIAH, The SON of The Living God." Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?" He spoke of Judas Iscariot ben Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

QUESTIONS:Why does King Jesus say He is The Bread from Heaven? Why did some disciples give up on King Jesus? What is so amazing about verses 45-51?If you are taught by God where do you go to? Who has the words of Eternal Life?

38 Lazarus 8:46-59 STONES REACTION - BEFORE AVRAHAM

"Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

KING JESUS HAS NO SIN BUT ALL OF US ARE SINNERS ONLY GOD HAS NO SIN

46 " Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God." 48 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, "Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?" Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me . And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges . "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death ." 52 Then the Jews said to Him, "Now we know that You have a demon! Avraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, 'If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.' 53 " Are You GREATER than our father Avraham, who is dead? And the prophet s are dead. Whom do You make Yourself out to be? " Jesus answered, "If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing . It is My Father Who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God . 39 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, 'I do not know Him,' I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him & keep His word. Your father Avraham rejoiced to see My day & he saw it & was glad." 57-59 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet 50 years old, and have You seen Avraham ?" Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Avraham was , I AM ." Then they took up STONES to throw at Him;

but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the center of them, and so passed by.

Questions: Who saw Avraham in 2000 B.C. ? How old was King Jesus? God is from eternity to eternity. Why did the Jews pick up stones to stone King Jesus? What is meant by I AM? Does King Jesus have any sin? Why not? Only God has no sin! Why does King Jesus say ‘ MY FATHER’?

Lazarus 9:26 — 41 WHO IS REALLY BLIND?

KING JESUS ACCEPTS WORSHIP V 38 Therefore his parents said, "He is of age; ask him." So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, "Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner. He answered and said, " Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. 40 One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see." 26 Then they said to him again, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?" He answered them, "I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?" Then they reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but we are Moses' disciples. 29 We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know w here He is from. "The man answered and said to them, "Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes! "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him." Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. 33 "If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing." 34 They answered and said to him, "You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?" And they cast him out. 35 – 37 JESUS heard that they cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in THE SON of God?" He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you." Then he said, "LORD, I believe ! And he WORSHIPPED HIM .

38 And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world , that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind." Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no

sin but now you say, 'We see.'so your sin remains .

QUESTIONS: Who worshipped King Jesus here? Who asked "Do you believe in THE SON of God?"

41 Lazarus 10: 22—33 STONES AGAIN --V31

Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch. then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are THE MESSIAH, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me . but you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and

they follow Me ." And I Give them Eternal Life , and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. 30 I and My Father are one." 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

32 Jesus answered them , "Ma ny Good Works I have shown you From My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me ?"

42

33-37 The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You but for blasphemy , and because You, being a Man, MAKE YOURSELF GOD."

34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came and the Scripture cannot be broken), "do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming ,' because I said, 'I AM The Son of God' ? "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works , that you may know and believe that The Father is IN Me, and I IN Him . Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand .

Questions: What do the works do? Who gives eternal life? Who is in The Father? Who is in The Son? Why did the Jews say King Jesus had committed blasphemy? Who made Himself equal to God? Why the stones reaction? Zech 13:7 God says ‘ The Man who is My Equal’- who?

PSALM 82 I SAID, ‘YE ARE GODS’

A PSALM OF ASAPH PSALM 82 GOD IN THE SANCTUARY

A 1 God as Righteous Judge

B 2-4 Earthly Judges -- Bad C 5 Wrong Justice -- Negative C 5 Wrong Justice -- Positive

B 6-7 Earthly Judges -- Condemned A 8 God as Righteous Judge

43 A 1 GOD stands in the Congregation of the Mighty; HE judges among the gods. B 2-4 How long will ye judge unjustly , and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. C 5 They know not , neither will they understand; C 5 they walk on in darkness : all the foundations of the earth are out of course. B 6-7 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of THE MOST HIGH. 7 But ye shall die like Adam , and fall like one of the princes. A 8 Arise, O GOD, judge the earth: for YOU shall inherit all nations.

NOTE: Verses 6-7 This phrase ' gods ' (Elohim) refers to humans . It is only used with respect to EARTHLY men acting in the capacity of GOD i.e. God's agents in carrying out HIS justice. Moses is one - Exodus 7:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh : and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.. See also Ex 22:8-9 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges , to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods. For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challenges to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour. Acts 23:5 Then said Paul, I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

WHAT PSALM 82 MEANS

This psalm begins on a very solemn note: God as a judge who is convening His court in order to pronounce charges. The teaching of the Bible is that man was created in God’s image to reign and to rule as a vice regent over the earth (Gen. 1:26,28 ; cf. also Ps. 8:6 ; Rom. 8:17-21 ; 2 Tim. 2:12 ). Rulers are appointed by God to carry out His purposes of restraining evil and rewarding those who do what is good (cf. Rom. 13:1-4 ). In this sense rulers not only act for God; they, in a sense, act as God (as “gods”): Verse 1: The word translated "meeting" is used to describe Israel. "The powerful" means Israel’s leaders. Some of them are hurting God’s people

44 Verse 2: God asks two questions. The answer to both is ‘Until God decides to give help to poor people that need it’. ‘You’ means the rulers of Israel. God commanded the Israelites to care for the needy, the helpless, and the oppressed: “You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow’s garment in pledge . But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the Lord your God redeemed you from there; (Deut. 24:17- 19 ; cf. also Exod. 23:2-3 , 6-9; Lev. 19:15, Deut. 1:17 ). Verses 3 – 4: God gives help by making the rulers and important people obey him. “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love respectful greetings in the market places, and chief seats in the synagogues, and places of honor at banquets, who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers; these will receive greater condemnation” (Dr Luke 20:46-47 ). Verse 5: This tells us that the *godless do not know what they are doing. They are *like men who cannot see their way in the dark. As they walk, they think that the ground is moving under their feet! Verses 6 – 7: God tells the gods that they will die. The mood of the Psalm suggests that God’s patience with the corrupt leadership was exhausted. Human magistrates are in a position of authority because God appointed them (cf. Rom. 13:1 ) V 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth! For it is Thou who dost possess all the nations. “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 7:10 ; cf. 1 Cor. 16:22 ;Rev. 22:20 ). The word shaphat - four times (“judges,” v. 1; “judge,” v. 2; “vindicate,” v. 3; “judge,” v. 8). all three functions of governing i.e. legislative, the executive, and the judicial elohim ~ one of God’s names in *Hebrew. It means very powerful. elyon ~ one of God’s names in *Hebrew. It means very important. Psalm 82:6 must be explored within the larger context of Lazarus’s Gospel. Lazarus quotes the words of the Lord Jesus to show that there are no other gods besides the one true God. For Christ to then acknowledge the existence of other gods would be a clear contradiction, which shows that King Jesus was not suggesting that these were actual gods at all. He simply used them as an example to prove a specific point. The context shows that King Jesus wasn’t placing Himself on the level of the other so-called gods. We know this because of the following reasons: In Lazarus 10:28 King Jesus claimed the very prerogatives of YAHWEH GOD. In Lazarus 10:34-36 King Jesus places Himself on the level of the Word of God directed against the so-called "gods."- judges

45 Check the comparison: ... he called them gods to whom The Word of God came ...... say of him whom The Father consecrated and Sent into the world ... Just as the Word spoken against the judges came from God, the Lord Jesus also came from God to the people of Israel. King Jesus, like the spoken and inscripturated Word, originates from God and entered the world with the specific purpose of perfectly revealing God’s will to man. In fact, Lazarus identifies King Jesus as the eternal Word of God who became flesh: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . He was in the beginning with God . All things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made ... And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us , and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only begotten Son from The Father, full of grace and truth ... No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, He has made him known." Lazarus 1:1-3, 14, 18 Throughout Lazarus’ Gospel the Lord constantly emphasizes His preexistence: "Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of My own accord, but He sent Me .’ Lazarus 8:42 "Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that He had come from God and was going back to God ," Lazarus 13:3 "for The Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God. I came from The Father and have come into the world , and now I am leaving the world and going to The Father." Lazarus 16:27-28 King Jesus clearly doesn’t place himself on the same level of being with the gods of Psalm 82:6, but on a much higher and exalted level. How much higher? King Jesus explicitly states that he originates from the Father in heaven and is co-equal to the Father, being able to do what God alone can do. Do you wonder why King Jesus mentions the gods -judges in the first place if He wasn’t placing himself on their level? It is really very simple. King Jesus’ point here is to show that since the Scriptures apply the term "gods" to Jewish men who represent God without this being blasphemous then the Jews cannot charge king Jesus with blasphemy for calling Himself God; especially when King Jesus does works to prove that He is God’s eternal Son, precisely the point King Jesus makes in the conclusion of the chapter: "‘If I am not doing the Works of My Father, then do not believe ME; but if I do them , even though you do not believe Me , believe the Works, that you may know and understand that The Father is in Me and I am in the Father. ’ Again they sought to arrest Him , b ut He escaped from their hands." Lazarus 10:37-39 Note that the Jews tried all the more to kill Christ since they knew from his words that he didn’t deny their accusation. They correctly concluded that

46 King Jesus’ comments only reinforced their charge that he was claiming to be God. To summarize the data, we discover that: The Holy Bible affirms that there is only one God. King Jesus claims to be this one God .

1. King Jesus, like the oral and written Word, originates from God since He is the eternal Word made flesh. 2. Much like the Word that came in judgment against the so-called gods (earthly judges) was on a higher plane than they were, King Jesus likewise is on a higher level than the rest of the so-called gods. 3. The so-called gods only represented the true God, whereas King Jesus not only represents God but He is fully God in essence and nature.

Since Scripture could apply the term gods to God’s agents without this being considered blasphemy, then King Jesus claiming to be God cannot be considered blasphemous especially when He performs divine works to prove that he is essentially incarnate Deity. "Do you indeed speak righteousness, O gods? Do you judge uprightly, O sons of men? ; Surely there is a God (KING JESUS) Who judges on earth !’" Ps58:1- 11 Jewish people knew there is only one God. "that they may know that You alone , whose Name is the LORD , are the Most High over all the earth." Psalm 83:18 "There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours . All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things ; you ALONE are God ." Psalm 86:8-10 Psalm 82 warned the unrighteous judges (leaders) of Israel of God’s impending judgment upon them. When king Jesus appealed to this psalm He not only identified Himself as the fulfilment of verse 8, He also identified them as the fulfilment of verses 1-7. The warning of the psalm was being fulfilled in their midst God had finally come to judge the “gods.” How much better the name God suited king Jesus than the title “gods” suited the scribes and the Pharisees The problem for many in this verse concerns the meaning of King Jesus’ quotation from Ps 82:6. It is important to look at the OT context : The whole line reads, "I say, you are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you." King Jesus picks up on the term " sons of the Most High" in 10:36, w here He refers to himself as The Son of God . The psalm was understood in rabbinic circles as an attack on unjust judges who, though they have been given the title "gods" because of their quasi-divine function of exercising judgment, are just as mortal as other men.

47 What is the argument here?

If it was an OT practice to refer to men like the judges as gods, and not blasphemy, why did the Jewish authorities object when this term was applied to king Jesus? This is evidently a case of arguing from the lesser to the greater, a common form of rabbinic argument. The reason the OT judges could be called gods is because they were vehicles of the word of God (cf. 10:35). But granting that premise, King Jesus deserves much more than they to be called God. He is the Word incarnate, whom The Father sanctified and sent into the world to save the world. In light of the prologue to the Gospel of Lazarus it was the most natural interpretation. If it is permissible to call men "gods" because they were the vehicles of the word of God, how much more permissible is it to use the word "God" of Him who is the Word of God? THE SON OF GOD or GOD THE SON

What is the significance of the term 'The Son of God' and what were the charges leveled at Christ by the illegal Sanhedrin court? Lazarus 19:7 the Jews said:

'We have a law , and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out to be the Son of God. ' So what was this 'law' which they claimed king Jesus was guilty of breaking? ( Exodus 20, Lev 24:16 And he that blasphemes The Name of YAHWEH, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemes The Name of the LORD, shall be put to death.) It is a fact that is as true today as it was true then - to a Jew brought up on the TeNaK (Old Testament) there is only one God and to claim to be another 'god', or even the Son of the true God, is blasphemy. Another deception, Islam has a similar problem with this claim. The 4 th gospel has three recorded instances of King Jesus claiming to be The Son of God (Lazarus 5:18; 10:33; 19:7) and, together with the quotations below, they establish two points beyond doubt.

1. The first is that the Jews took for granted that the special claim of King Jesus to be the Son of God, and His calling 'God His own Father,' was nothing less than claiming divine equality with God, or making Himself God. 2. The second point is that this claim of divine Sonship, which the Jews plainly understood as a claim to Deity, was the real issue in the trial before the Sanhedrin which resulted in His crucifixion. In view of the claims of king Jesus, a Jew had no logical alternative to belief in His Godhead, except the imperative duty of putting king Jesus to death (this is made clear by the Jewish writer, M. Salvador, in his 48 book, Jesus Christ ). The record of the 'trial,' make it clear that they rightly understood the phrases ' begotten of God ' or ' stand at the right hand of God ' to be claims of equality.

In Matthew Levi 26:59-66 they plainly accuse Christ of blasphemy for this claim: now the chief priests and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death, but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward 61 and said, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. '" 62 And the high priest stood up and said, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" 63 But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him, "I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, The Son of God ." Jesus said to him, "You have said so. But I tell you, hereafter you will see The Son of Man seated at the Right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of Heaven. " 65 Then the high priest tore his robes, and said, " He has uttered blasphemy. Why do we still need witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66 What is your judgment?" They answered, "He deserves death."

Notice that King Jesus merely affirmed that He was the ' Son of Man ' who would be ' seated at the right hand of Power ' and would come in the future ' on the clouds of heaven '! This was blasphemy under Jewish law.

Dr Luke 22v70-71 again makes it clear when He is asked:

'Are you The Son of God, then?'

And He said to them, 'You say that I am.' And they said, 'What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.'

Clearly, they were satisfied that He confirmed their question as being the truth because their response indicates that they are now certain (without need of further witnesses) that He was guilty of blasphemy .

49 This is made clearer still in Mark 14:61-64 where the High Priest asks Him: ''Are you The Messiah, The Son of The Blessed One? '

And Jesus said, ' I AM; and you shall see The Son of Man sitting at the Right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of Heaven. ' And tearing his clothes the high priest said, ' What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the BLASPHEMY; how does it seem to you?' And they ALL condemned Him to be deserving of death. '

Notice that Matthew 26 has basically the same account but, in verse 61, witnesses stated: ' This man stated, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days. '' What king Jesus really said is recorded in Lazarus 2:20-22; but He clearly claimed that He would raise the temple (which the disciples realized afterwards was His body) and, as noted earlier, He claimed that He would raise His own body. That this Scripture can stand alone (as compared with Lazarus10:17-18) as evidence that King Jesus was equal with God, is shown by the reply He gave in Lazarus 5:17-23 where He showed that whatever the Father does the Son also does.

If you look at the scriptural reasons for putting to death (see the discussion under Lazarus 8:58, for instance) then you will see that King Jesus was obviously not guilty of any of them. However, consider these points: He had many opportunities to deny His claim if He really had not meant to claim that He was equal to God - but He never ever denied that He was equal with God - in fact He made so many claims of Oneness with the Father, that no listener could be in any doubt as to His origin. King Jesus never made any attempt to deny their assertion, or to show them that they had put the wrong construction on His claim.

On the many occasions when the Jews were wrong in their use of the Law, or were hypocritical (e.g., Matthew 22:18 & 23:13, Dr Luke 11:44), king Jesus quickly pointed out their error . Is there a single example in the New Testament where king Jesus failed to make it clear (to the Pharisees, Sadducees, Jews) that they were wrong? Even when His answer was not direct so that they were forced into silence because they knew He was speaking about them, He always made it clear when they were in error. If King Jesus was not The Son of God and was not equal to God, why would He not make this plain to the Jews when He knew the penalty for such a claim was horrendous death on a cross!? 50

It is inconceivable that the Jews condemned Him simply because they misunderstood the true nature of his claims. It is plain from the Scriptural records that they put Him to death because they clearly recognized the claims He was making - but refused to accept Him despite the evidence of the miracles –the very works- which, it is clear, only God could do!

Peter reminded them of this soon after:

'You denied the Holy and Righteous One.' (Acts 3v14) Closely connected with His claim to be God's Son was His claim to be the Christ or the Messiah. What kind of Messiah did the Jewish prophets led the people to expect?

Isaiah had described the coming one as: (Isaiah 7:14): 'Immanuel – GOD WITH US ' and as: (Isaiah 9:6): ' Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father , Prince of Peace.'

Jeremiah 23v5: 'See the days are coming - it is 'Yahweh' who speaks - when I will raise a virtuous Branch for David, who will reign as true king and be wise, practising honesty and integrity in the land. In His days Judah will be saved and Israel dwell in confidence . And this is the name he will be called: 'YAHWEH-our-righteousness.'

Micah (5:2) spoke of His eternal pre-existence Daniel (7:14) predicted His everlasting dominion ; Zechariah (13:7) amazingly says of Him as the man WHO is my EQUAL How can a man be equal to God? in Malachi (3:1) His advent is described as 'YAHWEH' coming suddenly to His temple' Lazarus13v19 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with ME has lifted up his heel against ME. 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I AM. 51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives ME and he that receives ME receives HIM that sent ME. The meaning of the phrase in the sense of full Deity is especially clear at Lazarus 13v19 where king Jesus says that He has told them things before they come to pass, that when they do come to pass the disciples may believe that EGO EMI (I AM) . YAHWEH is the only One who knows the future as a present fact and king Jesus is telling them beforehand that when it does come to pass in the future, they may know that 'I AM ' (ego eimi), i.e. they will recognise that He is YAHWEH. The Jews clearly recognised this claim and that is why they set out to stone Him !

OMNIPRESENT: 'For where two or three are gathered together in My name , there am I in the midst of them' (Matt. 18:20; cf. Matt. 28:20; Eph. 1:23).

Christians worship king Jesus and pray to Him because He is God and commanded it! Refer to Lazarus14:14

OMNIPOTENT: 'ALL power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth' ( Matt. 28:18; cf. Hebrews 1:3; Lazarus 5:21-23; Eph. 1:20-23 ).

The 'Triune' God has determined that King Jesus shall have ALL power - how could the Godhead allow this if He is not God?

OMNISCIENT: 'In whom are hid ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge ' (Colossians 2:3; cf. Lazarus 2:24,25) .

Again, if king Jesus was not God how could He possibly have ' ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge '?

IMMUTABLE: 'Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever ' ( Hebrews 13:8 ).

How could this possibly be true unless the Lord Jesus Christ had always existed in the form of God? If He was a created being like us no one could ever make this claim for there is always the possibility that created beings can sin or pass out of existence!

52 CREATOR : 'ALL things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made' (Lazarus 1:3; cf. Col. 1:15-16 ).

If the Lord Jesus Christ was not God then this could not be said about Him! Did He make Himself?

We need to always remember that God said:

'I, the Lord, am the Maker of all things , stretching out the heavens by Myself, and spreading out the earth all alone' (Isaiah 44v24)

Yet these New Testament Scriptures ( Lazarus 1:1-3; cf. Col. 1:15-16 ) tell us that King Jesus did these things, for 'the Word was with God, and the Word was God'. The Word is King Jesus Who must have been with God (as described in Isaiah 44:24 ) in a way that is beyond the human interpretation that the cults and all other religious are forced to put on the Scripture to avoid seeing the real historical, Biblical Jesus.

GOD SAVES — KING JESUS SAVES

"For The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost" (Dr Luke 19:10). Again, in this simplistic phrase Y'Shua, The Son of Miriyam and Yosef, spoke of two things: His Deity (by calling Himself the subject of the prophet Dani'el's vision)

and His mission (by calling Himself the One God Who spoke to Mosheh on Mount Sinai) as it is written in Dani'el and Yechezk'el (Ezekiel): 53

In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was One like The Son of Man, coming with the clouds of Heaven. He approached The Ancient of Days and was led into His presence (Dani'el 7:13-14). For this is what the LORD GOD says: I Myself will search for My sheep and look after them (Yechezk'el-Ezekiel 34:11ff).

Lazarus 14:5-11 SEE THE SON -- SEEN THE FATHER

Thomas said to Him, " LORD, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, "I AM---THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also ; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him. " Philip said to Him, " Lord, show us The Father, and it is sufficient for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen The Father; how can you say,'Show us The Father' ? Do you not believe that I am in The Father, and The Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but The Father who dwells in Me does the works . Believe Me that I am in The Father and The Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves .

EXODUS 3v13- 16 EH YEH ‘ASHER EHYEH—Hebrew = EGO EMI - Greek = I AM (present indicative tense )

Exodus 3 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law , the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of YAHWEH appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when YAHWEH saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

54 5And he said, Draw not near here: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou stand is holy ground. Moreover he said, I AM the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. 7And YAHWEH said , I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto Me: and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou may bring forth My people the children of Israel out of Egypt. 11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? 12 And He said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers has sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM (EH YEH ‘ASHER EHYEH ): and HE said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israe l, I AM has sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, The God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you : this is MY NAME FOREVER, and this is My memorial unto all generations . 16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, YAHWEH God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Yacov, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt: And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites,

55 and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a Land flowing with M ilk and

Honey .

56 Lazarus 18 1-8 HUMANS FALL BEFORE GOD

When Jesus had spoken these words , He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. Then Judas, having received a detachment of Troops,

and Officers from the Chief Priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, "Whom are you seeking? They answered Him, "Jesus of Nazareth ." Jesus said to them, "I AM ." An d Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. Then -- when He said to them, "I AM ," -- they DREW BACK

and FELL to the ground . Then He asked them again, "Whom are you seeking?" And they said, "Jesus o f Nazareth. "Jesus answered,

"I have told you that I AM. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way ,"

Lazarus 19:19 "Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the Cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS".

King Jesus Was Condemned To Death For "blasphemy"

Caiaphas condemned King Jesus to death . Mark 14:63-64 "Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?" And they all condemned Him to be worthy of death." Caiaphas then had to persuade the Romans to execute king Jesus. Israel was an occupied territory, and the Jews did not have the authority to execute prisoners. wrote the words "JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS" on a sign . The sign was written in Hebrew, Latin and Greek. It wsa probably a very large sign, easily read from the busy road by Mount of Olives. King Jesus was the "featured criminal" and was sentenced to death under for "sedition against the Roman state", and under Jewish law for "the sin of blasphemy." In Hebrew, the sign read as: "Y’Shua Ha'Nazarei W'Melech Ha'Yehudim" THIS IS JESUS THE NAZARENE THE KING OF THE JEWS The code in Hebrew above the Cross

First letters of each of four words spell YHWH, the name of God.

"Y’shua Ha'Nazarei W'Melech Ha'Yehudim"

King Jesus was tried and condemned for "blasphemy ". Above the Cross was written , in a simple code, YHWH , the Name of God. This code was clearly visible to the Sanhedrin, which is why they asked Pontius Pilate to change what He had written over the Cross, to break the code. Lazarus19:21-22, "Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'He said, "I am the King of the Jews".' Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written "

58 WHY DO YOU CALL ME GOOD?"

Mark 10:18, Matthew 19:16-17, Dr Luke 18:19

THE CONTEXT

Mark 10:13 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to Me,

and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16 And He took the children in his arms, put His hands on them and blessed them. 17 As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before Him. " Good teacher," he asked, " what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

18 "Why do you call ME good?" Jesus answered . "No one is good -- except God alone.

19 You know the commandments : `Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'" 20 "Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy." 21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. " One thing you lack ," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." 22 At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth

59 King Jesus has just taught the people that to enter the kingdom of God, get

eternal life we must accept it as a gift , just like the children who have no inhibitions to accept gifts. King Jesus tells us that we have to "unlearn" our adult behavior of "having to earn everything" because we cannot earn God's favor and grace, but have to accept it as a free gift of love. And the next we read is that this man comes up and asks " what MUST I DO to inherit eternal life ". This shows how much this is entrenched in our nature and how hard it is to accept the pure grace of God. God's grace is without pre-conditions but not without

consequences. Whoever has tasted of God's grace will strive to live a life which is pleasing to God. Maybe he thought if he praises King Jesus first , he might get a more favorable answer from him? One that is "easier to fullfil"? Isn't that a common approach of many people towards those who are (perceived to be) in authority on a certain issue? But King Jesus looks through these smoke screens and goes right to the core problem. This doesn't mean that this man was a total hypocrite - just trying to manipulate a bit in his own favor. King Jesus won't let him do so. Several indications that this man was very serious with his quest. He was a very religious man and had diligently observed the commandments of God. When Jesus gives him a short list of them, he responds that he has obeyed all these from his childhood on to this day. He was indeed a devout and committed believer. But in all his diligent observance of God's law, there still was a insecurity if that was "enough" to get eternal life. This didn't let him rest in peace

Matthew 19:17 "And he said unto him, Why callest thou ME Good? none good but one, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." Matthew 19:21 "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shall have treasure in Heaven: and come follow ME." Matthew 19:22 "But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 60 The question seems odd. The rich young ruler had just asked King Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life, prefacing the question with the title "Good teacher." King Jesus replies with another question. "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Mark 10:17). King Jesus' answer: "Why do you call me good? No one is good-except God alone" (Mark 10:18). That statement has caused some people to think that perhaps King Jesus means something like, "God is good, and you shouldn't call me good because I am not really God." But that's precisely the opposite of what King Jesus means to say . King Jesus took the word "good" literally. The young man had called Him, "Good teacher." He said it as a way of being respectful, but he wasn't really thinking of the meaning of the word. This man is "praising Jesus highly" but then goes on to NOT obey what King Jesus tells him he should do to inherit the eternal life that he desires. King Jesus knows all true goodness comes from God . He's saying, "When you call me good, do you really know what you're saying? If I am good in the ultimate sense, it's because I am not merely a good person; it's because I am God in human flesh." So when King Jesus says, "Why do you call me good?" He's asking the question, "Do you really know who you are talking to? And do you really know what you are saying?" Only God is infinitely good. He is the source of all goodness. By comparison all men’s righteousness is as "filthy rags" in his sight ( Isaiah 64:6). King Jesus said ‘I am Good ‘ as I have told Israel:

I AM The Good Shepherd - Lazarus 10:11. Matt 20:15 Jesus said “ is your eye evil because I AM GOOD ?' . Heb. 4:15 He “was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin ” “And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin ”(I Jn. 3:5). ( Koran agrees ‘’A PURE SON ‘’ S 19:19 ) I give people Eternal Life 61 No prophet has ever talked in this "presumptious" way. "How can I get eternal life?" is the question. "Follow ME!" is the answer that Jesus gives. Do you see what he is claiming? He does NOT say, these are the teachings that God has given me. Follow these rules and you will get to heaven. Neither did he just say, "follow God, submit to God", but he said "Follow ME!". King Jesus talks to this man as if it is in His hand to give eternal life . Follow King Jesus and you have eternal life. It is a constant topic in the teaching of King Jesus. It is completely against the tradition of Jewish teachers, which are approached and chosen by their students. But none of the disciples chose king Jesus. It is always King Jesus who comes up to them and "claims them" and commands them to follow Him. King Jesus connects "obtaining eternal life" with "following Him". I AM the resurrection and the life , he who believes in ME will live (eternally), even though he dies (physically); and whoever lives and believes in me will never die (spiritually) - Lazarus 11:25-26 I will give them eternal life and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. -- Lazarus 10:28 In the Gospel of Lazarus alone there are 16 passages connecting the very words "eternal life" with faith in King Jesus. And not only with the faith in King Jesus, but that it is King Jesus himself who is GIVING this eternal life. Indeed Jesus several times says: I AM The LIFE. How can Moslems read this and conclude that King Jesus never claimed to be God? Half his preaching is blasphemous if he was NOT God. I forgive all sins as only God does I receive worship from Jews and Gentiles (see pages 21-32). When King Jesus was worshiped, He never corrected His followers when they bowed down and worshiped Him. He never said, “Please, don’t worship Me…only My Father should be worshiped.” King Jesus didn't say "I show you the way". He said "I AM The WAY" King Jesus didn't say "I tell you about the truth". He said "I AM The TRUTH," King Jesus didn't say "Following my words might give you a chance at eternal life". He said "I AM the LIFE". – Lazarus 14:6 King Jesus said: Follow Me… Peter said to HIM "We have left everything to follow you !" So what does that mean to you?

Why did our Lord say this? Was He denying His inherent deity as God The Son? 62 I recall a conversation I once had with a Jehovah’s Witness at my front door who tried to use this verse as “proof” that king Jesus couldn’t possibly be God. Talking to me as if I were a slow-witted child he asked, “Now, you believe that God is good, right?” Yes, I agreed, God is good. “That’s right!” he said. “And so if God is good and Jesus said ‘don’t call Me good’ then how can Jesus be God?” The guy seemed very pleased with himself until I pointed out that he had deliberately misread the verse. King Jesus didn’t say, “Don’t call Me good” but instead had carefully asked the young man, “Why do you call Me good?” I then asked him if he thought it was right or wrong to call king Jesus good. He wasn’t sure what to say, so I continued, “I think we would both have to agree that king Jesus is good. That’s why mournful sinners were drawn to Him, that’s why righteous people loved Him, that’s why even His enemies were forced to invent false charges against Him at His trial. We can’t even say that king Jesus was relatively good in comparison to the rest of humanity, because the scriptures testify that there is absolutely no sin or unrighteousness in Him whatsoever. King Jesus was and is entirely and completely good, with a goodness utterly indistinguishable from God’s goodness.” I then concluded, “If Jesus is undeniably good, and we both agree that only God is good, then who must this Jesus be?” After this the JW walked away.

Until you know who God is, you'll never know who you are. That's why King Jesus won't let this young man get away with using the word "good" casually. King If Jesus is truly "good," then King Jesus is truly God. And compared to Him, we are all miserable sinners. Martin Luther said we should preach law to the proud and grace to the humble. The young man walked away sorrowful because he had an inflated opinion of his own attainments. His love of money revealed the darkness in his heart. Of the three gospel accounts of this story, only Mark records that King Jesus loved him (v. 21 ). And in an ironic twist, he loved him enough to tell him the truth, knowing that he would walk away. Sometimes love lets people go so they can come back later. We read this story and are left wondering what happened to the young man. Today's question kicks us right in our own self-inflated sense of importance. We're not as good as we think we are, and compared to King Jesus, we're not good at all. Salvation begins when we confess that God is good and we are not. We can be clothed with the righteousness of Christ. That's why he asks us the same question he asked the rich young ruler: "Why do you call me good?" WHAT’S YOUR REASON FOR CALLING ME GOOD?

63 Righteous Lord, you and you alone are good. And compared to you, there is no goodness in me at all. Thank you for providing all I need now and for eternity. Amen

THE STRESS PROBLEM Sometimes it is very important to know WHICH WORD to stress in a sentence. This sentence has seven very different "plain meanings" depending on which word you stress in it: "I never said Fatima stole my wallet" What is the meaning of this sentence? Did you think "I NEVER said Fatima stole my wallet" or "I never said FATIMA stole my wallet" or "I never said Fatima stole my WALLET" ... all of which mean totally different things. The problem is that in a written document we don't have the intonation anymore but then, we usually don't have "just one sentence" either and the context will make clear what is the right intonation (and meaning) of a phrase even if there are several possible meanings when taken isolated. Mark 10:18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good -- except God alone. Reading this verse correctly we can see that our Lord was simply trying to make this man slow down and put the pieces of the puzzle together as to who this “good Jesus” must truly be. King Jesus was not denying His goodness, but questioning this man's motives by asking him "*WHY* do you call ME good?" because this man is "altogether too obsequious and effusive in his approach’’. And why would He do that in this particular case ? There were many people who came to King Jesus, mostly asking for healing, and He usually healed them with only a brief word about the importance of faith or of living without sin.

But here King Jesus spoke of much more, granting a sort of “mini- Theophany” by way of a subtle revelation of His divinity .Why did He do this? The answer is in the fact that this young man’s request was different from anyone else’s. He came, seeking not physical healing, but salvation . “What good thing must I do to inherit eternal life?” Please notice the wisdom in our Lord’s response. He first spoke of the need to follow the commandments of God, or in other words, of the necessity to not bring further harm to one’s soul by doing those things which are contrary to eternal life. The effects of sin aren’t marked on some scoreboard in heaven, but upon our souls. Righteousness matters, and the commandments of God are important to us, or else 64 King Jesus wouldn’t have said so. Now this young man claimed to have kept all the commandments from his youth . This was apparently not a false boast, for King Jesus looked upon him and loved him when he said this. From Matthew’s gospel we can see that the young man was even further blessed to recognize that the commandments alone were not enough to save him, and so he asked with urgency, “What do I still lack?”

Have you ever thought to ask God, “Lord, what do I still lack?” Most of us would rather tell God what we think is missing from our lives, and be miserable until He gives it to us. But what a bold thing it is to ask, “Lord, what do I still lack?” We can begin to see why King Jesus loved this man. And indeed, here was a fellow about as ready as any person could be to receive the answer from King Jesus Christ as to what he needed to gain eternal life. And King Jesus told him, “One thing you lack . Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. And come , take up the cross, and follow Me ”. At this command, the man became sad and went away grieving, for he had great possessions. This answer of King Jesus cuts right through to the core of his problem. He was rich and his wealth and the security that comes with wealth was too important for him to give up. He wanted eternal life, and he would have made great efforts to do many good deeds with his wealth and his abilities, no question about that. But giving it up completely? Trusting ONLY God and having his security in God only? This was too much for him. He did get the answer that he needed. But it was also the answer that exposed his true heart. His wealth and position was more important than God. And he went away sad. At another time King Jesus said: You cannot serve two masters. Either God or money. And King Jesus' command revealed that though this man had kept all the "outward commandments of behavior", he was guilty of br eaking the first commandment "I AM YAHWEH your God, you shall have NO other gods before Me". Nothing is allowed to take priority over God. For him it was money, security, position.

Yes, God is the source of all goodness and truth.

Our Lord knew He was asking a difficult and unexpected thing of this young man. That is why He first graciously allowed the man a certain spiritual insight into His divine authority. “ It is not simply your ‘good teacher’ asking this of you; it is your good God. Follow Me in both life and death, and you will live in My kingdom forever .” The inescapable tragedy of this story is that even with this kind and wonderful revelation, the man still turned his back on King Jesus and walked away.

65 Was King Jesus too harsh? Notice that the young man didn’t go away angry or offended. He went away grieving . When people think they are being treated unfairly they generally get mad. But when they are asked to do what they know is right, but find that they are unwilling to make the sacrifice, their souls are filled with sorrow. No matter how much we try to excuse, justify, or distract ourselves, that thing remains as a kind of barricade between us and our good King Jesus. Sorrow of soul is the natural result, and this seems to be what was taking place in this young man’s heart.

The Rich man was measuring the goodness of Lord Jesus Christ according to merely human standard and was not able to achieve God's state of perfection. Rich man said “All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?” The young ruler "went away sad" (Mark 10:22 ) because he realized that although he had devoted himself in keeping the commandments but has failed to keep the first and greatest of the commandments “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength ( Matthew 22:37-38 )”. The man’s riches were of more worth to him than God, he was sad to give up his wealth. He thought he can enter eternal life by his own good works and by not completely following King Jesus Christ Hence he was not considered as righteous in the eyes of God. Proverb 16:25 “There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”. The Holy Bible says that it is difficult for a rich person to be saved. Matthew 19:24 "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the

kingdom of God .

King Jesus pointed out that one cannot serve both God and money . One can follow 10 commandments but still they live spiritual defeated lives and have not OVERCOME the world still living in wicked, greedy and hypocritical lives. Why do so many people hate King Jesus? King Jesus Christ "declares the FATHER" (Lazarus 1:18). And reveals The Father to whomever The Son desires

66 (Matt. 11:27). King Jesus was revealing the Father to his disciples in His whole ministry. God and Jesus are one. King Jesus said, "I and the Father are one!” King Jesus always spoke in His own authority. He never said, “Thus saith the Lord …” as did the prophets; He always said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you…” He even asserted that “heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away”(Mark 13:31). The words of King Jesus are the very words of God.

Acts 2:36: Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Col. 2:9 "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form." Col. 1:19, "For it was The Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,"

The reason why Muslims hate King Jesus Christ is they love darkness of sin rather than light of truth (Lazarus 3:19-21), their Pride causes them to reject him (Psa. 10:4) and Some are Unwilling to obey and follow Him in everything thing ( Lazarus 7:16-17) and to come to the knowledge of truth. If you believe, embrace Jesus Christ as Lord, then obey Him & have everlasting life ( Lazarus 12:48-50) and be a good soldier of Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:3)!

King Jesus is the incarnate Word (that was God) made flesh (Lazarus 1:1,14; Col. 2:9), found in appearance as a man, and that He humbled Himself to the point of death (Phil. 2:8). What we also need to understand is that He was made under the Law (Gal. 4:4) took on the form of a servant (Php 2:7) and He was made like unto sinful flesh (Rom 8:3 ) and He was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Summary: The statement/question by King Jesus "Why do you call me good? Only God is good" does ask this man for his motivation for praising King Jesus . And it admonishes him not to attribute to him a quality which he is ultimately not 67 willing to accept and act upon in obedience. King Jesus does not reject that this attribute is appropriate for him, but more than just "any praise" King Jesus desires that the praise that is offered to Him is true and genuine . [re-read pages 18-32, 40 -42 where King Jesus does accept worship.]

Furthermore, this passage contains some clear statements that link eternal life with our relationship to King Jesus. These claims would be blasphemous if indeed king Jesus were just a man like any other prophet. Only God is the giver of life. So, this very passage contains a very strong claim fo r King Jesus as GOD The Creator. MAN’S 6 TRIALS OF GOD (KING JESUS)

Three Jewish Trials Number 1 Trial –Annas (Lazaraus 18;12-14) Number 2 Trial – Caiaphas (Dr Luke 22;54) - both illegal done before day light Number 3 Trial – Dr Luke 22:66-71 Three Gentile Trials Number 4 Trial –Pilate for the 1 st time (Dr Luke 23:1-6) Number 5 Trial –Herod Antipas ( Dr Luke 23:8-12) Number 6 Trial - Pilate for the 2nd time (Dr Luke 23:13-25)

King Jesus Trial – The Questions king Jesus went through six trials before His execution. The Jewish High Priest and the Jewish High Court (the Sanhedrin) effectively asked king Jesus two questions: Are you the Messiah? and Are you The Son of God or God The Son that is God who is visible? To both of these, king Jesus answered, "I AM." This was enough to condemn king Jesus for blaspheming God by claiming to be God IF HE was not God.

68 King Jesus Trial – Parts and Stages There were six parts to king Jesus’ trial: three stages in a religious court and three stages before a Roman court.

• The night of his arrest, king Jesus was brought before Annas, Caiaphas, and the Sanhedrin (a group of religious leaders). In these trials He was charged with blasphemy, claiming to be The Son of God. He was imprisoned at Caiaphas’ palace. “Meanwhile, the high priest questioned king Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. ‘I have spoken openly to the world,’ king Jesus replied. ‘I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret. Why question ME? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said.’

“When Jesus said this , one of the officials nearby struck him in the face. ‘Is this the way you answer the high priest?’ he demanded.

“‘If I said something wrong,’ Jesus replied , ‘testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?’ Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest” (Lazarus 18:19-24).

• Next, king Jesus was taken before Pilate, who was the Roman Governor, who declared, “I find no guilt in this man.”

"‘If I said something wrong,’ Jesus replied, ‘testify as to what is wrong. But if

I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?’ Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest” (John 18:23-24).

• King Jesus was then sent to Herod. King Jesus refused to answer any questions so Herod returned Him to Pilot.

“When he learned that Jesus was under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time” (Dr Luke 23:7).

69 • Then He was returned to Pilate, who finally sentenced king Jesus to death.

“Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe, they sent him back to Pilate. That day Herod and Pilate became friends—before this they had been enemies” (Dr Luke 23:11-12).

In these trials, the authorities disregarded many of their own laws.

1. Trial were not to be held during feast time. 2. Every member of the court was to vote individually to convict or acquit. In the trials king Jesus went through, He was convicted by acclamation. 3. A night had to pass before a death sentence could be carried out. In the trials of king Jesus, only a few hours passed before He was placed on the cross. 4. The Jewish Leaders had no authority to execute anyone. 5. Trial were not to be held at night . King Jesus’ trial was held before dawn. 6. The accused person was to be given representation . King Jesus had none. 7. The accused person was not to be asked self-incriminating questions.

King Jesus was asked if He was the Christ .

The trials before the Roman authorities started with Pilate

(Lazarus18:23) after king Jesus was beaten. The charges brought against Him were very different from the charges in His religious trials. He was charged with inciting people to riot, forbidding the people to pay their taxes, and claiming to be King. Pilate found no reason to kill king Jesus so he sent

70 Him to Herod (Dr Luke 23:7). Herod had king Jesus ridiculed , but wanting to avoid the political liability, sent Jesus back to Pilate (Dr Luke 23:11-12). This was the last trial as Pilate tried to appease the animosity of the Jews by having Jesus

scourged. The Roman scourge is a terrible whipping of 39 lashes . In a final effort to have king Jesus released, Pilate offered the prisoner Barabbas to be crucified and Jesus released, but to no avail. The crowds called for Barabbas to be released and king Jesus to be crucified. Pilate granted their demand and surrendered Jesus to their will (Dr Luke 23:25). The trials of king Jesus represent the ultimate mockery of justice. King Jesus, the most innocent man in the history of the world, was found guilty of crimes and sentenced to death by crucifixion. THE SIX TRIALS OF KING JESUS:DETAILS Unique in world history is the trial of a man for who HE IS.

I. BEFORE ANNAS

1. Lazarus 18:12-13, “ So the band and the chief captain, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound Him, and led Him to Annas first: for he was father-in- law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.” 2. Annas had been removed by Roman authority, but evidently the rulers of the Jews still counted him as high priest. Annas questioned king Jesus, and one of his officers struck king Jesus with his hand (Lazarus . 18:19-23).

71 II. BEFORE CAIAPHAS AND THE SANHEDRIN

1. Lazarus 19:24“Annas therefore sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.” 2. Roman authorities counted him as the High Priest. 3. Lazarus entered in with King Jesus into the court of the high priest, but Peter stayed outside and warmed by the enemies fire (Lazarus.18:15-18; Mt. 26:57-58, 26:69-75 4. Matthew Levi 26:59- “Now the chief priest and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death; and they found it not, though many false witnesses came.” 5. “ For many bare false witness against Him , and their witness agreed not together. And there stood up certain, and bear false witness against Him saying, We heard him say, I will destroy this temple made with hands , and in three days I will build another made without hands. And not even so did their witness agree together Mark. 15:56-59).” 6. Then the high priest said, “I adjure thee by the living God , that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ the Son of God. King Jesus said. Unto him, “Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of

heaven (Matt. 26:65-68).” 7. The Court condemned Him to death. They said He was guilty of blasphemy because HE said he was The Son of God .

72 III. BEFORE THE SANHEDRIN EARLY THE NEXT

MORNING

1. Matthew Levi. 27:1-2 “ Now when morning was come , all the chief priest and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death; and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him up to Pilate the governor.” 2. Mark’s account also shows that the court condemned king Jesus during the night (Mk. 14:43, 14:55-65) and met again the next morning (Mk. 15:1). 3 Why did the Sanhedrin meet again the next morning? Walter M. Chandler in his first volume entitled, The Trial Of Jesus, states that according to the rules of the Sanhedrin, the court was not to hear a capital punishment case at night. Do you think they were trying to give what they had done the appearance of legality?

IV. BEFORE PILATE THE FIRST TIME

1. Matthew, Mark, and John say that they carried Jesus to Pilate the next morning (Mt. 27:1-2; Mk. 15:1; Lazarus 18:28). 2 Lazarus 18:28 “They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, (Roman palace) and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Praetorium that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.” 3. Lazarus 18:28 king Jesus kept the Passover with His disciples prior to the regular time for the Passover. a. Why? King Jesus died at the time they were to start killing the passover lambs ! b. Ex. 12:6 “at even” Hebrew reads. Between the two evenings”.

73 c. The Passover feast was instituted before the event that it was to commemorate (Ex. 12:1-14). d. king Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper before the event that it was to commemorate (Mt. 26:26-29). e. The passover lambs were a type of Messiah“ the lamb of God” ( Isa. 53:5-8; Lazarus . 1:29; I Cor. 5:7-8; I Pet. 1:18-20; Rev. 5:1-7, 7:9-10, 7:13-14, 7: 17, 13:8,15:3-4, 19:9, 21:14, 22:1, 22:3-4). f. The lambs were to be without blemish that prefigured Christ being without sin (Ex. 12: 5; I Pet. 1:18-20). g. When the Israelites applied the blood of the lambs it delivered them from the Egyptian bondage (Ex. 12:7, 12:13, 12 41-42), and when the blood of Christ is applied it delivers from the bondage of sin (Rom. 5:7; Eph. 1:7; Col.1:14). h. Not a bone in a Passover lamb was to be broken (Ex. 12:46), and this prefigured that not a bone in the body of Christ was broken (Lazarus 19:31-37). 4. Pilate questioned king Jesus and found no crime in him ( Jn . 18:33-40; Dr Luke. 23:4-5; Matthew 27: 17-19), but when he learned that he was of Herod’s jurisdiction he sent him to Herod (Dr Luke. 23:7).

V. BEFORE HEROD

1. Herod was glad that Pilate sent king Jesus to him (Dr Lu. 23:8). 2. Herod questioned king Jesus “in many words, and the chief priest and scribes stood, vehemently accusing him (Dr Luke. 23:9-10).” 3. Herod found no fault in King Jesus , but he and his soldiers mocked him and “arraying Him in gorgeous apparel sent him back to Pilate (Dr Lu. 23: 11-12).”

VI. BEFORE PILATE THE SECOND TIME

1. When Herod sent king Jesus back to Pilate he called the chief priest and the rulers of the people , and said unto them, “Ye brought unto me 74 this man, as one that perverts the people: and behold, I, having examined him before you found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: no, nor yet Herod: for he sent him back to us; and behold, nothing worthy of death by him. I will therefore chastise him, and release him (Dr Lu. 23:14-16).” 2. These murders cried out, “ Away with the man and release unto us Barabbas”, Barabbas had caused an insurrection and was guilty of murder (Dr Lu. 23:18-19). 3. Pilate then had king Jesus scourged, and the soldiers mocked Him (Lazarus 19:1-3). 4. Pilate affirmed to them again, “ I find no crime in Him and he said unto them, “Behold, the man (Lazarus19:4-5).” 5. What did Pilate mean by “Behold, the man !” Did he not mean, don’t you think he has suffered enough? 6. When Pilate saw that a “tumult was arising , he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see you to it (Mt. 27:24-25).” 7 The people answered and said, “His blood be on us, and on our children (Mt. 27:25),” but when that time came they were ready to kill the apostles on accusation that they were intending “to bring this man’s blood upon us (Acts 5:27-28, 5:33).” 8. Was Pilate innocent? Surely not! He was a moral coward ! He knew that king Jesus had “done nothing worthy of death (Mt. 27:18)”, and he also had been warned by his wife (Mt. 27:19); and he should have released King Jesus. 9. Sometimes a victim’s stomach organs protruded by scourging, and some died when they were scourged. 10. king Jesus must have been in such a terrible condition that they compelled

Simon of Cyrene of Africa to bear His cross to Calvary (Mk. 15:21).

75 The total number of trials is six. Six is the numeric number of Man in the Bible .

On judgment Day the following people and groups will all stand before God at the Seventh Trial: - Annas - Caiaphas - The Sanhedrin - Pilate - Herod and you if you do not trust in Him .

The GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT

Revelation of King Jesus 20:11

"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the Earth and the Heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them."

At this Seventh trial King Jesus Christ will judge all of those who judged Him, as He will also judge all unbelievers. THE NAME of GOD WRITTEN OVER THE CROSS King Jesus Said At His Trial That He Is God Mark 14:61-63 "Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" Jesus said, "I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."

At the trial of king Jesus, He was asked by Caiaphas if He was "the Son of The Blessed." The High Priest was saying, "Are You the Son of God?"

The Name of God is "I AM"

At the burning bush, God had revealed His name to Moses. In Exodus 3:14, God 76 said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." King Jesus used the words "I AM" at His trial, on purpose, indicating His Deityy! King Jesus replied by saying in Hebrew (not in Greek) " I AM ", which is the name of God. King Jesus said, at His trial that:

1. He is God

2. He would sit at the right hand of God

3. He would return from Heaven

What Was Achieved By King Jesus At The Crucifixion? At the Crucifixion king Jesus Christ was cursed by God the Father. In Galatians 3:13, we read, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'"

All believers in king Jesus Christ have the legal right under the terms of the New Covenant to live a life free from the Biblical curses recorded in Genesis chapter 3.

The Crucifixion took away permanently the Curse of the Law of: - Death - Sickness - Poverty - Satan

The Crowd Choose Barabbas Rather Than King Jesus. - A Perfect Picture Of The Gospel

Matthew Levi 27:15-21, "Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Yshua (Jesus) who is called 77 Messiah?" For he knew that they had

handed Him over because of envy.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him." But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas!"

The word "Barabbas" literally means in Hebrew, "son of the father". Which spiritual father did Barabbas belong to? King Jesus said, in Lazarus 8:44, "You are of your father the devil". Mark 15:7, Barabbas was a murderer, and therefore a son of the Devil.

As far as Barabbas was concerned, there was the perfect exchange. Barabbas went free, and King Jesus died in his place. This is a perfect picture of the Gospel. The

Son of God died in the place of a son of the Devil.

The Rejection Experienced By King Jesus On The Cross

The worst aspect of the Crucifixion was NOT the excruciating pain. It was the total rejection that King Jesus felt . King Jesus was rejected by absolutely everybody, including His Father in Heaven . We read in Isaiah 53:3, "He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief ,"

78 KING JESUS WAS REJECTED BY:

1. His family who thought He was " out of His mind " - Mark 3:21.

2. By everyone at his local synagogue - Mark 6.3 .

3. King Jesus' disciples In Gethsemane were completely indifferent and fell asleep three times. They were completely indifferent to King Jesus' problems, whilst He was literally sweating blood.

4. Judas betrayed King Jesus to the Romans with…a kiss…for money…. after stealing from king Jesus for three years.

5. The religious authorities of the day rejected His ministry, as He was Cross- examined before Annas.

6. King Jesus replied that He had always spoken openly in the Temple, and wherever Jews met.

7. Roman soldiers then punched King Jesus in His face .

8. Annas then had tied King Jesus up, and had Him taken to the high priest, Caiphas.

9. The representatives of the church, who were supposed to be worshipping the living God, were treating Him like a common criminal. 10. Caiaphas asked King Jesus, "Tell us if You are the Christ, The Son of God!"

11. King Jesus truthfully replied, "I AM" (God’s Name).

12. Caiaphas then tore his clothes, and the Sanhedrin demanded King Jesus' execution by the Romans. 13. king Jesus was condemned and humiliated, despite telling the truth.

79

14. Then the Sanhedrin spat in His face, beat Him, and struck Him after blindfolding Him, saying, "Prophecy to us, Christ. Who is the one who struck You?" (Matthew Levi 26:67)

15 . In the courtyard Peter cursed and swore at king Jesus (Matt 26: 74)

16. Then they Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium (Lazarus 18:28). King Jesus was led to the slaughter by the Sanhedrin, representing the organised Jewish religion. 17. It is recorded in Lazarus 18:28, "But they themselves (the Sanhedrin) did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover."

18. This was the worst type of religious hypocrisy . They were prepared to lead king Jesus to His certain death, but would not "defile themselves".

19. The crowds chose Barabbas rather than King Jesus to be released.

20. Barabbas was a known terrorist and murderer, but the crowd preferred him to king Jesus, who had ministered to them for 3.5 years.

21 King Jesus was totally rejected by the crowds of people that He had served.

22. When Pontius Pilate asked the crowds what to do with King Jesus they cried out, "Crucify Him".

23.King Jesus had done nothing wrong at all. He had preached, healed the sick and raised the dead for 3 years.

24. Pilate said "I can find no fault with this Man." He then washed his hands of Him, indicating he absolved himself of responsibility.

25. Roman law had rejected king Jesus, and the trial was illegal, since Pontius Pilate, by his own admission, could find nothing wrong that king Jesus had done .

6. king Jesus was then mocked by the Roman soldiers, dressed in a crown of thorns, a robe, and hit on the head and about the face with reeds, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews".

27. king Jesus was scourged very severely. 80

28. Following the scourging, He was too weak to carry the Patibulum.

29. King Jesus was then crucified naked before the entire crowds at Jerusalem, and before His own mother, on a public highway.

30. Many Jews in Israel were present because of the Passover.

31. At the Crucifixion king Jesus was mocked by the Jewish leaders, and by some of the crowds.

32. Both thieves swore at and taunted king Jesus, although the second thief later repented.

33. Finally King Jesus was rejected by God the Father. King Jesus said, " My God, My God, why have you rejected Me"

34. In His life king Jesus was rejected by everyone, including: - His family - His friends - His disciples - Those He healed (who did not come back to say thank you) - His home synagogue - The Sanhedrin - The religious establishment - The crowds - The Roman authorities - The Roman legal system - The Roman soldiers - The thieves on the Cross - God the Father

Philippians 2:5-11, "He (King Jesus) humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the Cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name , that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

81 King Jesus endured unspeakable horror and rejection, and God raised Him up to the highest possible place. King Jesus conquered rejection by obedience to God, and God raised King Jesus to the highest possible place.

Anatomical & Physiological Details Of Death By Crucifixion

King Jesus was crucified. Crucifixion is the most painful torture ever invented, and is the origin of the word " Excruciating".

1. Crucifixion was invented by the Persians in 300 BC, and perfected by the Romans in 100 BC. 2. It is the most painful death ever invented by man and is where we get our term "excruciating." 3. It was reserved primarily for the most vicious of male criminals. 4. King Jesus refused the anaesthetic wine which was offered to Him by the Roman soldiers because of His promise in Matthew 26: 29, "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."

5. King Jesus was stripped naked and His clothing divided by the Roman guards. This was in fulfilment of Psalm 22:18, "They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots."

6. The Crucifixion of King Jesus guaranteed a horrific, slow, painful death.

7. Having been nailed the Cross, King Jesus had an impossible anatomical position to maintain.

8. King Jesus' knees were flexed at about 45 degrees, and He was forced to bear His weight with the muscles of His thigh, which is not an anatomical position which is possible to maintain for more than a few minutes without severe cramp in the muscles of the thigh and calf.

9. King Jesus' weight was borne on His feet, with nails driven through them. 10. As the strength of the muscles of King Jesus' lower limbs tired, the weight of His body had to be transferred to His wrists, His arms, and His shoulders. 11. Within a few minutes of being placed on the Cross, King Jesus' shoulders were dislocated. 12. Minutes later King Jesus' elbows and wrists became dislocated.

82 13. The result of these upper limb dislocations is that His arms were 9 inches longer than normal, 14. In addition prophecy was fulfilled in Psalm 22:14 , "I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint." 15. After King Jesus' wrists, elbows, and shoulders were dislocated, the weight of His body on his upper limbs caused traction forces on the Pectoralis Major muscles of His chest wall.

16. These traction forces caused His rib cage to be pulled upwards and outwards, in a most unnatural state. His chest wall was permanently in a position of maximal respiratory inspiration. In order to exhale, King Jesus was physiologically required to force His body.

17. In order to breathe out, King Jesus had to push down on the nails in His feet to raise His body, and allow His rib cage to move downwards and inwards to expire air from His lungs.

18. His lungs were in a resting position of constant maximum inspiration.

19. Crucifixion is a medical catastrophe. 20. The problem was that King Jesus could not easily push down on the nails in His feet because the muscles of His legs, bent at 45 degrees, were extremely fatigued, in severe cramp, and in an anatomically compromised position.

21. Unlike all Hollywood movies about the Crucifixion, the victim was extremely active.

22. The crucified victim was physiologically forced to move up and down the cross, a distance of about 12 inches, in order to breathe.

23. The process of respiration caused excruciating pain, mixed with the absolute terror of asphyxiation. 24. As the six hours of the Crucifixion wore on, King Jesus was less and less able to bear His weight on His legs, as His thigh and calf muscles became increasingly exhausted.

25. There was increasing dislocation of His wrists, elbows and shoulders, and further elevation of His chest wall, making His breathing more and more difficult

83

26. Within minutes of crucifixion King Jesus became severely dyspnoeic (short of breath). 27. His movements up and down the Cross to breathe caused excruciating pain in His wrist, His feet, and His dislocated elbows and shoulders.

28. The movements became less frequent as king Jesus became increasingly exhausted, but the terror of imminent death by asphyxiation forced Him to continue in His efforts to breathe.

29. King Jesus' lower limb muscles developed excruciating cramp from the effort of pushing down on His legs, to raise His body, so that He could breathe out, in their anatomically compromised position.

30. The pain from His two shattered median nerves in His wrists exploded with every movement.

31. King Jesus was covered in blood and sweat.

32. The blood was a result of the Scourging that nearly killed Him, and the sweat as a result of His violent involuntary attempts to effort to expire air from His lungs.

33. Throughout all this He was completely naked, and the leaders of the Jews, the crowds, and the thieves on both sides of Him were jeering, swearing and laughing at Him.

34. In addition, King Jesus' own mother was watching.

35. Physiologically, king Jesus' body was undergoing a series of catastrophic and terminal events.

36. Because king Jesus could not maintain adequate ventilation of His lungs, He was in a state of hypoventilation.

84

37. His blood oxygen level began to fall, and He developed Hypoxia (low blood oxygen).

38. In addition, because of His restricted respiratory movements, His blood carbon dioxide (CO2) level began to rise, a condition known as Hypercapnia. 39. This rising CO2 level stimulated His heart to beat faster to increase the delivery of oxygen, and the removal of CO2

40. The Respiratory Centre in king Jesus' brain sent urgent messages to his lungs to breathe faster, and king Jesus began to pant.

41. King Jesus' physiological reflexes demanded that He took deeper breaths, and He involuntarily moved up and down the Cross much faster, despite the excruciating pain. 42. The agonising movements spontaneously started several times a minute, to the delight of the crowd who jeered Him, the Roman soldiers, and the Sanhedrin. 43. However, due to the nailing of king Jesus to the Cross and His increasing exhaustion, He was unable to provide more oxygen to His oxygen starved body.

44. The twin forces of Hypoxia (too little oxygen) and Hypercapnia (too much CO2) caused His heart to beat faster and faster, and king Jesus developed Tachycardia.

45. King Jesus' heart beat faster and faster, and His pulse rate was probably about 220 beats/ minute, the maximum normally sustainable.

46 . King Jesus had drunk nothing for 15 hours, since 6 pm the previous evening .

47. King Jesus had endured a scourging which nearly killed Him.

48. He was bleeding from all over His body following the Scourging, the crown of thorns, the nails in His wrists and feet, and the lacerations following His beatings and falls. 85

49. King Jesus was already very dehydrated, and His blood pressure fell alarmingly.

50. His blood pressure was probably about 80/50.

51. He was in First Degree Shock , with Hypovolaemia (low blood volume), Tachycardia (excessively fast Heart Rate), Tachypnoea (excessively fast Respiratory Rate), and Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

52. By about noon king Jesus' heart probably began to fail.

53. king Jesus' lungs probably began to fill up with Pulmonary Oedema.

54. This only served to exacerbate His breathing, which was already severely compromised.

55. king Jesus was in Heart Failure and Respiratory Failure.

56. king Jesus said, "I thirst" because His body was crying out for fluids.

57. king Jesus was in desperate need of an intravenous infusion of blood and plasma to save His life

58. king Jesus could not breathe properly and was slowly suffocating to death.

59. king Jesus probably developed a Haemopericardium.

60. Plasma and blood gathered in the space around His heart, called the Pericardium.

61. This fluid around His heart caused Cardiac Tamponade (fluid around His heart, which prevented King Jesus' heart from beating properly).

86 62. Because of the increasing physiological demands on king Jesus' heart, and the advanced state of Haemopericardium, king Jesus probably eventually sustained Cardiac Rupture. His heart literally burst. This was probably the cause of His death .

63. To slow the process of death the soldiers put a small wooden seat on the Cross, which would allow king Jesus the "privilege" of bearing His weight on his sacrum.

64. The effect of this was that it could take up to nine days to die on a Cross.

65. When the Romans wanted to expedite death they would simply break the legs of the victim, causing the victim to suffocate in a matter of minutes. This was called Crucifragrum.

66. At three o'clock in the afternoon king Jesus said, " Tetelastai," meaning, " It is finished."

67. At that moment, He gave up His Spirit, and He died.

68. When the soldiers came to king Jesus to break His legs, He was already dead. Not a bone of His body was broken, in fulfilment of prophecy (above).

69. king Jesus died after six hours of the most excruciating and terrifying torture ever invented.

70. King Jesus died so that ordinary people like you and me could go to Heaven.

87 Recording of The Crucifixion by Contemporary Historians

Cornelius Tacitus

The Crucifixion of king Jesus of Nazareth was noted by Cornelius Tacitus who was a Roman historian , born in 52-54 A.D. Tacitus stated that King Jesus had been crucified by Pontius Pilate.

Flavius Josephus

Josephus was born in 37 A.D. and was a Jewish Pharisee. He wrote: "Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works ..... Pilate ... condemned him to the Cross ... he appeared to them alive again on the third day."

The Crucifixion of King Jesus Christ was widely accepted and discussed by a great many ancient writers

The fact is that the Crucifixion of King Jesus Christ was accepted as fact by a great number of ancient writers. The Crucifixion was widely discussed as a fact by both Chri stian and secular writers, many of whom wanted to discuss the three hour period of darkness during the Crucifixion, which obviously greatly alarmed the ancient world .

Amongst such writers are:

Lucian, who died in A.D. 312. author of ‘The Death Of Peregrinus’, mentions Jesus’ crucifixion - Thallus, a historian writing in AD. 52, - Julius Africanus writing about A.D. 221 Tacticus , a lawyer and official Roman historian says that King Jesus suffered the extreme penalty (crucifixion) during the reign of , under Pontius Pilate. 88 Josephus , a Jewish General and historian, reports that Pilate condemned him (King Jesus) to be crucified. In fact his writings, Josephus practically gives King Jesus’s entire ministry history as was known.

Mara Bar-Serapion , late first century a pagan writing his son from prison. He confirms that Israel had been punished and was currently suffering because of how they had killed their “wise king” Jesus hailed by Romans as the “King Of The Jews” (Mt.27:37, Mk.15:26, Lk.23:38, Jn.19:21) The Jewish Talmud, reports that King Jesus was “hanged on a tree” aka crucified. (Acts 5:30, Acts 10:39, Gal.3:13)

- This large number of historians makes the Crucifixion among the best-attested events in ancient writing. King Jesus Was Railroaded-Did Not Have A Legal Trial

Matthew Levi 27:22-26 "Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done? "But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!" When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it." And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

Pilate never condemned King Jesus for doing anything wrong . Pilate simply asked the crowd what they wanted to do with King Jesus Christ, and the crowd, inspired by the Sanhedrin, cried out for Him to be crucified. Pontius Pilate washed his hands, and said that he was innocent of Jesus' Blood. The Roman Legal System had failed, and Pontius Pilate said to the crowd, "You see to it".

89 Everyone has to make a decision in their lives about what to do

with KING JESUS MESSIAH Old Testament prophets kept calling the people back to faithfulness, and prophesied of the coming Savior and King, the Messiah who would reign over God's people: "For a child will be born to us, a son is given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God , Eternal Father, Prince of Pea ce . There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. (Isaiah 9:6,7) "And in the days of those kings the God of Heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever." (Daniel 2:44) "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the tribes of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity." (Micah 5:2) "Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away His judgments against you, He has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel , the Lord, is in your midst; you will fear disaster no more." (Zephaniah 3:14,15) God is true to His promise of a King, true to His intent that the King over mankind should be Himself. God had promised David that his "seed" would establish the kingdom (II Sam 7:12). Jesus Christ was that "seed of David", the coming King, sent by God, as God, to restore God's kingship over mankind. (Matt. 1:1; Acts 13:23; Rom.

1:3,4; Rev. 22:16). The angel, Gabriel, told Mary prior to the birth of king Jesus,

90 "He shall be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end." (Dr Luke 1:32,33) John the Baptiser proclaimed the coming Kingdom, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 3:2) "Kingdom of heaven" and "kingdom of God" are used interchangeably in Matthew's gospel. King Jesus began His ministry saying the same thing, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matt. 4:17; Mk. 1:15; Dr Lk 4:1). Repentance as a prelude to experiencing the kingdom indicates that it is a spiritual reality. The Kingdom of God is the central theme of King Jesus' preaching. "The kingdom of God has come upon you" (Matthew 12:28; Dr Luke 11:20). He

used many parables concerning the "kingdom." The chief accusations against King Jesus as His arrest and trial was that He claimed to be "king". "Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, and summoned Jesus, and said to Him, 'You are the King of the Jews?' Jesus answered, 'Are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about Me?' Pilate answered, 'I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered You up to me; what have You done?' Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting, that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.' Pilate therefore said to Him, 'So You are a king?' Jesus answered, 'You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears My voice .'" Lazarus 18:33-37) They put purple robes of royalty on Him, put on a crown of thorns and gave

Him a mock sceptre to ridicule His kingship: "Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged Him. And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and arrayed Him in a purple robe; and they

91 began to come up to Him, and say, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' and to give Him blows in the face." (Lazarus19:1-3) Pilate presented the battered Jesus, saying, "Behold your King!" (John 19:14). The superscription on the cross read, "Jesus, King of the Jews" (Matt 27:37; Mk 15:26; Dr Lk 23:38) "And Pilate wrote an inscription also, and put it on the cross. And it was written, 'JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS .' Therefore this inscription many of the Jews read, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and in Greek. And so the chief priests of the Jews were saying to Pilate, 'Do not write, 'The King of the Jews'; but that He said, 'I am King of the Jews,' Pilate answered, 'What I have written I have written.'" (Lazarus19:19-22) The Jewish leaders wanted it changed, to read "He claimed to be 'King of the Jews'". But it was written in three languages and remained written just as God intended. From the cross Jesus exclaimed, "It is finished" (Lazarus 19:30) "Accomplished! Completed! Brought to fruition! I have established My kingdom!" By dying He won the battle, the spiritual battle with Satan. He is the Theocratic King, the Divine King, who has conquered sin, death and Satan to establish His spiritual kingdom . The Cross is His victorious battle; The Resurrection is His coronation; Shavoot (Pentecost) was the inauguration of the kingdom . In the first sermon of the church on Pentecost, Peter declared that David had prophesied of "his seed seated upon the throne" (Acts 2:30), and that by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God had done just that raised up Jesus to be Lord and

King! The preaching of the early church was of the "king, Jesus" (Acts 17:7); they were preaching concerning "the kingdom of God" (Acts 19:8; 20:25; 28:31), and that "through much tribulation we enter into the kingdom of God" (Acts 14:22). God used the physical kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament to pictorially portray the spiritual Kingdom that He intended to restore through His Son, Jesus Christ in the new covenant. "God is Spirit" (John 4:24) His kingdom, His reign and rule and lordship is spiritual. The Jewish people in King Jesus' day couldn't seem to see that. A servant-king, a despised king, a rejected king, a suffering king, a crucified King did not fit their proud, self-centered expectations. King Jesus and His message did not fit their system. The kingdom of God is universal ALL

92 mankind can be restored to God's intent, by allowing God in Christ to rule and control in their lives. "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him;for 'Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Rom 10:12; cf. Ephesians 2:14-16) "Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Dr Luke 17:20,21) It is not physical: "the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:17) It is not of this earthly world: "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting, that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm." (John 18:36) It is a kingdom that can only be entered by spiritual new birth: "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born

again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.' .... "Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.'" (Lazarus 3:3,5) "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3) King Jesus would not allow the people to force Him into their mold to be a natural, physical King: "Jesus therefore perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force, to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone."

(Lazarus 6:15) The kingdom, or authority, or rule of God is a spiritual reality in this present age, and it will appear in its final, perfected form in the eternity of the new heavens and new earth when Christ returns.

93 The kingdom was established by Christ at His first advent, but only to those with eyes to see, spiritually. When He comes again, the whole world will see the power and glory of that present spiritual and eternal kingdom. Jesus is King. He is King "after the order of Melchisedec...King of Righteousness... King of Peace ." (Hebrews 6:20-7:2) "His throne is forever." (Hebrews 1:8) He is "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" (Revelation 17:14). Christians are "a kingdom of priests" as was God's intent (Exodus 19:5,6). We are a "royal priesthood, holy nation" (I Peter 2:9; Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Christians have been transferred into the kingdom of Christ: "For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." (Colossians 1:13,14) Christians are still like those persons present at the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. We are still shouting, chanting, singing "Hosanna" to the King. We "sing unto the Lord" (Isaiah. 12:5; Ps 98:1; Zech 2:10; Ps. 137:3). Is Jesus Christ reigning as sovereign in your life?...as King? ...as

Lord? Is Jesus Christ King in the kingdom of your heart? Are we prepared to let Jesus Christ reign and rule over the collective kingdom of His church? Are we praying evangelistically that Jesus Christ might reign as King over all peoples? These are the questions we must ask ourselves individually and collectively, as we understand that "Jesus Is King." The condition for His effective Kingship/Lordship in our lives is still that of faith - our receptivity of His activity. The condition is still the obedience of listening to what the Lord Jesus Christ Jesus as King wants to do in our lives, individually and collectively.

YSHUA-Jesus is King and we can still shout, "Hosanna!"

Lazarus ( John) 19:1-12 ISRAELI POLICE--- LAW CHARGE –IDENTITY THE ISSUE

So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. Then they said, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck Him with their hands. Pilate then went out again, and said to them, "Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him. Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, "Behold the Man! Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, "Crucify Him, crucify Him!" Pilate said to them, "You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him." 7-12 The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to our law He must die, because He made Himself the Son of God." Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, "Where are You from ?" But Jesus gave him no answer . Then Pilate said to Him, "Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?" Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin. From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, "If you let this Man go, you are not 's friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar."

Mark 14:53-64 And they led Jesus away to the high priest ; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of The High Priest. And he sat with the servants and

warmed himself at the fire. Now the chief priests and all

95 the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none. For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree. Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying, "We heard Him say, 'I will destroy this Temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.'" But not even then did their testimony agree. And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying, "Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?" But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, "Are You The Messiah, The Son of The Blessed?" And Jesus said, "I AM . And you will see The Son of Man sitting at the right hand of The Power, and coming with the clouds of Heaven." Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "What further need do we have of witnesses?

"You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?" And they all condemned Him to be worthy of death.

Question: Why did The High Priest tear his clothes?

THOMAS THE APOSTLE CONCLUDES

Lazarus 26-29 And after eight days again HIS Disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Y’SHUA, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Shalom Alay-Kom (Peace be unto you).

27 Then said HE to Thomas, bring here your finger , and behold MY Hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into MY Side: and be not faithless, but believing . 28 And Thomas answered and said unto HIM my LORD and my GOD.

96

29 Y’SHUA said unto him, Thomas, because you have seen ME, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. B 30-31 And many other miracle -signs truly did Y’SHUA in the presence of HIS disciples, which are not written in This Book 31 But these are written, that you should go on believing that Y’SHUA IS THE MESSIAH, THE SON of GOD and that believing you might have Life through HIS NAME

Now that you have seen the actions and words of The Lord Jesus about Himself and also the reactions of top educated Jewish leaders and lawyers about who King Jesus really was claiming to be what are you going to do?

The Resurrection of The Lord Jesus proves that He is God because Only God has power over life and death. I don’t nor do you -- only God The Creator.

Imperial Rescript Emperor Claudius AD 41

The Nazareth Inscription is a marble tablet measuring approximately 24 inches by 15 inches. In 1878 it became an addition to the private Froehner Collection of ancient inscriptions and manuscripts.

EDICT OF CAESAR

It is my decision [concerning] graves and tombs--whoever has made them for the religious observances of parents, or children, or household members-- that these remain undisturbed forever.

But if anyone legally charges that another person has destroyed, or has in any manner extracted those who have been buried, or has moved with wicked intent those who have been buried to other places, committing a crime against them, or has moved sepulcher-sealing stones, against such a person, I order that a judicial tribunal be created,

97 just as [is done] concerning the gods in human religious observances, even more so will it be obligatory to treat with honor those who have been entombed.

You are absolutely not to allow anyone to move [those who have been entombed]. But if [someone does], I wish that [violator] to suffer capital punishment under the title of tomb-breaker.

Since its original publication in 1930 by M. Franz Cumont, no scholar has published evidence to disprove its authenticity. It is evidence of Christians preaching the resurrection of King Jesus within a decade of His crucifixion in 30 AD.

Some Notes: lines 3 and 4 assume the existence of family tombs for dead bodies—ancient Jews did not cremate. There are no known examples of family tombs, like those in Second Temple Israel, to be found among the other ethnic groups in the Roman Empire. This fact strongly points that the Nazareth Inscription was written for Jews and Jewish Christians and not for pagan gentiles as a response to The Resurrection of King Jesus. Why the death sentence for removing dead bodies in Israel? And of all places Nazareth! Roman sentence was to fine people before King Jesus’ resurrection!

YES KING JESUS WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD.

98 FINAL CONCLUSIONS

King Jesus accepted worship yet told satan to worship God. Jews and Gentiles worshipped King Jesus and not once did King Jesus rebuke anyone. On the contrary He blessed these worshippers. When some Jews objected to King Jesus saying He was equal to The Father the reaction was attempted stoning to death – for blasphemy. King Jesus forgave sinners something only God can and does. Unique in world history is the fact that King Jesus was not charged with anything before going to court. He was sent to death for admitting HE IS GOD. This book has given you over 40 evidences. Yes King Jesus did say He is God The Creator.

Now read the Gospels thoroughly for The Resurrection side and be amazed. The Lord Jesus was either a liar or a fool or Is GOD in the flesh. Your choice.

Lazarus 1:1-19 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

99 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light . That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming

into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'HE who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before

me.'" And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

For The Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

100 Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?

The Bible teaches clearly that: KING JESUS forgives sin: '... the Son of Man hath power upon earth to forgive sins' (Dr Luke 5:20-25 ). The Pharisees were right (Dr Luke 5:21 ) - only God can forgive sins!

(Man shocked at price tag on ´Forgiveness´).

He is the source of life: 'In Him was life; and the life was the light of men' ( John 1:4,5 ).

HE is the Judge of all: '.... the Father ... hath committed all judgment unto the Son' ( John 5:22; 101 cf. 2 Timothy 4:1 ). If King Jesus were only a fallible created creature, and not God, who would sensibly desire their eternal destiny to be in His hands?

He raises the dead : '... The hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God' (John 5:21,25 ).

He is worshipp ed as God: '... let all the angels of God worship Him ' ( Heb. 1:6; cf. Phil. 2:10,11 ). Only God is to be worshipped! ( Acts 10:26; 14:11; Revelation 19:10; 22:9)

He is prayed to: '... Lord Jesus, receive my spirit' (Lazarus 14:14; Acts

7:59,60; cf. 1 Cor. 1:2).

He is God manifested in the flesh: 'The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth'. (Lazarus 1:14; 1 Timothy 3:16)

Rev A 1:8 ' I AM THE ALPHA and THE OMEGA, , (Isa 41:4) THE BEGINNING and THE ENDING ' saith ' THE LORD WHO IS and WHO WAS and WHO IS TO COME ,THE ALMIGHTY .' and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them : and I saw the Souls of them that were Beheaded for the witness of JESUS ,

and for The Word of GOD,

102 (Note: Islam today beheads Christians, Jews and all other non Muslims!) and who had not worshipped the Beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they Came To Life and reigned with MESSIAH 1000 Years.

22:16 I JESUS have sent MY angel (messenger) to testify unto

you these things in the Assembly (Ekklesia). I AM THE ROOT and THE OFFSPRING of DAVID and THE BRIGHT and MORNING STAR.

In Him dwells the fullness of God: '... it pleased The Father that in HIM should all fulness dwell'
