Austria is home for approx. 20% of AI’s global research and development activities. The relocation of AI Headquarters and substantial parts of AI’s Power Management & Supply and Technology & Innovation Divi- sions to Villach shortens the decision routes and makes competencies more densely concentrated. Together with the Infineon production facilities at Munich Perlach and Regensburg in Germany, Villach forms a manufacturing cluster, known as the “PowerFab”. Within this PowerFab, Villach provides the greatest production capacity for power technologies – the factory ships in the region of 10 billion chips each year.
