Charleen, Nicola & Michael suggested the idea of a schools news slot to station manager David Blaxhall and he said if they collated, wrote and produced it they could have the airtime.

Two Boroughs Radio is a community radio station broadcasting to Burnley and Pendle using a special 28 day licence which ended on the 10th of October.

The trio have been asked back to host the programme when 2BR returns in March for another 28 day broadcast. Mr Phil Cleveley Deputy Head of English at Ivy Bank said it has been a superb experience for both students, and they are a credit to the

Back in the summer Ivy Bank Forged a unique sporting partnership with Lowerhouse Cricket Club and South African Professional Cricketer Corrie Jordaan.

Corrie coached students at the school three days a week in curriculum lessons free of charge, and after school.

Also he set up a innovative development coaching game between 7 top South African Professional Cricketers, and 7 Lowerhouse Cricket Club players. 8 students played alongside and with both sets of players to raise monies for the Physical Education Dept.

The match was kindly sponsored by Nat West Bank (Burnley) and we were fortunate to have coverage of both events by BBC TV

Northwest and Radio Lancashire plus the Burnley Express.
