“With one blockbuster move….the put themselves on the map as a team to watch both now and into the future.” - Dan Rosen, NHL.com Senior Writer

“Excitement has been building since the team’s 19-5-5 run to end last season. It gained momentum with the re-signing of Sergei Bobrovsky, the drafting of the class of 2013 and, of course, the signing of Horton.

With all of these developments coming apace, one of the primary reasons to get fired up has been lost in the background — that is, the pending move to the Eastern Conference.” -Michael Arace, Columbus Dispatch

“The Horton signing was one of the biggest free-agent moves ever by the franchise, which made a surprising leap into playoff contention …The Blue Jackets are considered by many to be a franchise that has turned the corner.” - USA Today

B L E J A C K E T S P A R T N E R SI What They Are Saying

“Things are looking up for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it’s not just the recent signings of star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and hotshot free agent Nathan Horton. The club is also doing well on the ticket front as seen in several key off-season metrics” - Jeff Bell, Columbus Business First

“It’s a great hockey market, they’re on the upswing and it’s a wonderful day for the Columbus Blue Jackets.” -, former NHL GM & TSN/NHL Network analyst

“There’s a real momentum in Columbus, isn’t there? They had that terrific 25 or 30-game stretch towards the end of the year when Bobrovsky came in and did such a terrific job…now they add a key piece in Nathan Horton. It’s some great news for the fans in Columbus.” - , former NHL player & TSN hockey analyst

“WFIN will once again participate as a broadcast affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets. We appreciate the partnership with the Blue Jackets Radio Network. Russ Mollohan and his staff are very easy to work with from both the personal side and from the production and technical side of the hockey broadcast. The network has been a simple plug-n-play from an automation standpoint which has always been important to WFIN in how we run the broadcast on game nights. Here’s to a successful 2013-2014 season to everyone involved with the team and the Blue Jackets Radio Network.”

Mike Holman General Manager WFIN 1330-AM – Findlay, Ohio

“As a first year affiliate, WWOW carried all the games in what turned out to be a sensational season. The team had an exceptional second half and with Vezina Trophy winner, Sergei Brobrovsky, in . For this upcoming season we look forward to another exciting year especially considering the Blue Jackets move to the NHL’s Eastern Conference. The games were professionally done and we were able to completely automate the broadcasts allowing us to skip the expense of a board operator at the station. We also found that the giveaway items they gave us were very well received at many station promotions and remotes. As a long time hockey player, coach, executive and most of all a fan, I can tell you that the Blue Jackets have a great future and we are proud to be a part of it.”

Veteran broadcaster Bob McElligott enters his fifth season on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and his first season as the play-by-play announcer. McElligott previously spent 10 seasons serving as the broadcaster for the Syracuse Crunch, the Blue Jackets’ former affiliate.

“The basic nuts and bolts of a hockey broadcast are to make sure that you know where the puck is on the ice at all times, know what the score is and how much time is left in the period. Just doing that is not enough though. There has to be information on players and the league, explaining the finer points of the game is necessary and having fun is always in the mix. I’ve always looked at my job this way: I am the fan who's just lucky enough to have the job that everybody wants. I will bring the passion, excitement and entertainment that is Columbus Blue Jackets hockey to you each and every game!”
