Guildry Golf Outing It is hoped to hold the Annual Golf Outing again this year. The guest of honour, will give an illustrated talk on the plans and was our own Dean Robin Iffla who presented the proposals for the Stirling Smith’s. prizes and gave an excellent address.

Remembrance Service Sunday 11th November 10.45am The service at the Church of the Holy Rude will be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial, Corn Exchange. Guild Brothers are requested to meet at the Guildhall before 10.30 am and a good attendance is requested by the Dean.

Winter Court and Annual General Meeting Wednesday 5th December Our Speaker this evening will be Guild Brother Willie McEwan. He will be giving an illustrated talk about . More details will be communicated nearer the time.

Spring Court Wednesday 28th March - Immediate Past Dean Paul Miller chaired the Court for the evening in the absence of Dean Robin Iffla. Our speaker on the evening Dr Elspeth King gave a wonderful history of The Guildry in Stirling which extremely well received by all in attendance. Guild Brother Michael Coleman gave the Vote of Thanks. 25th April - Attended with the Deans Council at the University of Stirling to discuss the formation of sub- groups to take forward the business of the Guildry. These were membership, website, Guildry brochure and future events. 27th April - Attended the AGM of the Court of Deans of Guild at New Lanark. Also in attendance were Immediate Past Dean Paul Miller, Deans Councillor David Brown with his Fiancé Sheila (Now married, congratulations), together with Past Dean and Past Lord President of the Deans of Guild of Scotland Alan Webb and his wife and Past Dean Bob Cook and his wife. 9th May - Chaired sub-group of the Deans Council to discuss the Guildry Brochure reprint. 11th May - Met with the Lord President of the Court of Deans of Scotland Ken Dalton in Edinburgh and updated him as to the workings of the Guildry of Stirling in line with his visitations to all the Guildry’s in Scotland. 16th May - Chaired sub-group of the Deans Council to discuss the Guildry Brochure reprint. 28th May - Attended at the meeting of the Arbroath Guildry at Hospital Field House Arbroath as an invited guest. 6th June - Attended the “Friends of Logie” Prize Giving Ceremony in the Logie Hall as the Guest Speaker. 10th June - Attended the Service of Thanksgiving in Celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen and Kirkin Service. A good attendance of Deans Council and Guild Brothers attended this special service in conjunction with the Annual Kirkin o’ the Council. The new Stirling Council were in attendance led by the Provost Mike Robbins. 11th June - Attended as Patron of the Cowane’s Trust held in the Pavilion, St Johns Street. 12th June - Attended as Patron of the Cowane’s Hospital Maintenance Trust held in the Pavilion, St. John Street. 12th June - Attended the High School of Stirling Junior Prize Giving Ceremony as a Guest. 19th June - Attended the Junior Prize Giving of the Wallace High School.

Guildry History Prize The Guildry History Prize Certificates are being awarded again this year to all participating High Schools in the Stirling Council area, as well as the School and the University of Stirling History Department. Each school and the History Department of is awarded £100 of book tokens to share among their winners. 18th April - Attended the Senior Prize Giving of the Wallace High School and presented the Guildry History Prize to Megan Gibbons, Anna Kiakowski, Megan McCormack and Tina Woodburn. 18th April - Deans Councillor Tom Sinclair attended the Senior Prize Giving of the Bannockburn High School and presented the Guildry History Prize to Laura Gellatly, Natalie McDonald and Grant McGregor. The Dux Medal was presented to Lewis Thomson. The High School of 24th April - Attended with Past Dean Paul Miller at the Senior Prize Giving of Stirling Prize Winner the High School of Stirling and presented the Guildry History Prize to Andrew Eilidh Candlish Fitches, Eilidh Candlish, Kathryn Thomas and Merran Blackwood. 14th June - Immediate Past Dean Paul Miller attended the Senior Prize Giving of the Balfron High School and presented the Guildry History Prize to Scott McCreadie. 27th June - Attended the Graduation Ceremony for the conferment of Degrees and Awards at the University of Stirling and presented the Guildry History Prize to Mr Graham Alexander Kerr. 29th June - Immediate Past Dean Paul Miller attended the Award Ceremony and Grand Day Parade at the Queen Victoria School Dunblane and presented the Guildry History Prize to Jordan Oatley, Prateeksha Khawas, Stuart Baird, Michael Bell and Brogan Stacey. Annual Levy The Annual Levy of £15 was due in March. Thank you to those who completed a Standing Order form.
