Lion tells the story of Saroo Brierley who became separated from his family in a rural Indian village and ended up in Calcutta, 1600 kilometres from his home. The event was attended by Year 11 Standard English students who are currently studying this film for the unit entitled Contemporary Possibilities. Students learned about the process of making the film including: the purchasing of the book rights, selecting the cast, the creative choices made by the team, and the Oscar experience. It was a very positive and inspirational presentation, and we are grateful that Mr Fraser made the time in his busy schedule to visit our college.
