Introduction The bushland around the Community Environment Centre is a special place because of the diversity of species that can be found within its boundaries. A short traverse of the site reveals an extensive collection of flowering , as this depiction of approximately 70 plants demonstrates. The purpose of this booklet is to assist with the recognition of the plants that occur along the walking track near the centre. Hopefully the use of this guide will enrich the experience of exploring this particular bushland area. The walking track is illustrated on pages 4 and 5. The plants in this booklet are part of a continuum of plant communities, with Turpentine Ironbark Forest on the ridge, merging into a Shale/Sandstone Transition Forest (both of which are classified as endangered) and lower down the slope a Sydney Sandstone Ridgetop Woodland Community. A number of plant species found within the bush reserve are classified as threatened. gummiferum Christmas Bush This booklet has been developed and designed with the input of volunteers working at the Contents Orchid Epacris microphylla...... 48 Community Environment Centre.
