Controlling Your Life 2018 Controlling your life BELIEVING IN YOURSELF JACK WILLIAMS CONTROLLINGYOURLIFE.COM | Houston Texas Controlling Your Life The Power of Believing in Yourself Is the Most Powerful Force in theUniverse If You Control What You Believe, You Will Control Your Future All Rights Reserved Copyright © 2018 by Jack Williams Introduction I have set out to explain why capitalism is superior to progressivism, fascism, socialism, and communism. I have come to the conclusion that capitalism is the only one out of these five ideologies that will allow the individual human being to control their future. Progressivism, fascism, socialism and communism are united in the sense that they rely on group-centered ideologies, which will attempt to control freedom of speech and ultimately, the belief in yourself. Because capitalism takes the opposite approach, it requires that the freedom of speech and the ability to believe in yourself must remain unhindered. Progressivism, fascism, socialism, and communism will always be at a disadvantage as long as we have freedom of speech, the freedom to believe in ourselves, and freedom of religion and capitalism. The reason why the progressives, fascists, socialists and communists residing in our federal government go to such lengths to restrict our current society is because should they succeed, we will be equally competitive with the rest of the world. When I realized that you can control your individual future through capitalist ideas, I decided to sit down and put my thoughts on the subject onto paper. In this introductory section, I aim to discover the fundamental reason why capitalism will always be preferable to the individual human being. ----- One of the fundamental tasks of human experience is to find the truth in what you believe. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote the Sherlock Holmes detective novel series in the late 1800s. Through this character, Doyle laid out the methodology Holmes used to solve crimes, and most of the methodologies Holmes used to solve unconventional crimes are still being used today in our criminal justice system - even though technology has progressed substantially since. One of his basic principles on how to solve a crime can be paraphrased in the following argument: “Once you remove all that is false, whatever remains has to be the truth. No matter how strange or ridiculous it might sound, it has to be the truth.” This is a process called abduction. When you use abduction to challenge what you currently believe, you must look for what is false and then remove it. Only then will you be able to see the truth. Another fundamental task of human experience is to determine whether God is synonymous with the truth. When you challenge God, as a believer or non-believer, you must challenge the beliefs you hold if you’re to get anywhere. In doing so, you will see what is false, and when you remove falsity, you will be able to see the truth. Only then you will be able to see God authentically. With these two things in mind, I present to you this question: When did God give humans the ability to believe in general, as well as believe in themselves? Let’s assume that when you believe in yourself, you are also self-aware. When you are self-aware, you have the ability to understand what sin is. Only when you are able to understand that you are responsible for things that you have done, will you be able to understand the concept of sin. ----- Think back to the very first parables within the Book of Genesis. The factor determining that Adam and Eve were to be removed from the Garden of Eden, stemmed from the fact that they were aware they were naked. In order to recognize that you are naked, you have to some level of self-awareness. It does not take long after that to uncover the origin of sin. Prior to being aware that they were naked, they were innocent of all sin, as the concept of sin was completely foreign to them. In this sense, they were more like humans as animals rather than humans as humans. The only thing they knew was that God didn't want them to eat from that tree. God is not vengeful. He did not remove Adam and Eve because they had sinned, but because He understood via His omnipotence that the Garden of Eden could be perceived as a kind of welfare state, where everything would be without cost. This welfare state and the inability to understand sin in a worldly context would only lead to one conclusion. Eventually someone would want everything in the Garden and there would only be one person left. God understood this and gave Adam and Eve the ability to believe in general and the ability to believe in themselves. He gave us the ability to challenge what we believe, upon which we remove falsehoods from our beliefs, see the truth, and finally return to God. Theoretically, if we were able to challenge all our beliefs, if we were able to remove all that is false in our beliefs, we would be like God. The one thing that would not allow us to do this is time. Today's truth is tomorrow false beliefs, because as the world changes, so does our relationship to truth. If we do not challenge what we believe every day, eventually we will only have false beliefs. Going back to the concept of self-awareness for a moment, as it is connected to the premises I’ve previously mentioned, taking responsibility for your actions requires you to resist blaming other people when things go wrong. Otherwise, blaming other people would lead to violence, and you would not move closer to God. The power to believe in general and to believe in ourselves allows us to take greater control over our own future and grants us a greater ability to solve all our own problems. Now, we can give away this power to “golden idols”, such as the government. But when we do, we lose all the power that God has given us to control our future. The power to believe in general and to believe in our self can only be used by the individual, as an individual’s actions after having taken responsibility is the only way to produce tangible effects in the world. It is the duty of the individual to understand that in today's environment, where the government is in control of the schools and every poverty-stricken area in the country, the government will not teach the children or the people in poverty-stricken areas to believe in themselves. What God saw within the Garden of Eden is what we see in our world and our time. If the people see that there is no sin in taking what they want from others, there will be chaos and destruction. But if we teach the people to believe and to believe in themselves, the power of the four socio- political ideologies fighting capitalism will grow weaker, and our society will find its equilibrium again. ----- If I seem to repeat myself throughout this document, its sole purpose is to convince you that the power to believe in yourself is the most powerful force in the universe. If you use this God given power to believe in yourself, then there is nothing that you cannot accomplish. When God used His ability to believe in himself, He created the universe, life, and Man through that ability. God then gave man the ability to control his future and to solve his problems by giving him the ability to believe in himself. All that I am is a man who is trying to control his future by believing in himself. I have included some thoughts that may be beneficial to you if you need help controlling your own future. To be clear - I do not want you to believe what I have written outright. My experience is only my own, and nobody else’s. All that I would like you to do is to read what I have written. From there, you may challenge my conclusions, as well as challenge yourself, so that you can come up with your own conclusions. You must discover what is false in what we both believe in order, for you to see and believe the truth. Part One: The Power of Believing What Does It Mean to Say Something? The power to believe controls everything you do every day. Everything you do is based on what you believe. Added together, all your beliefs and all your actions make up your individual reality. Your individual reality can control what you do today, tomorrow, and all the other days to come. If you wanted to control or change your future, you need to be able to control what you believe. The question then becomes: How do you start or stop believing in something? There has, to be something, some, kind of method, that separates what you think and what you believe. A clue can be in this verse from the New Testament: “And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” – Matthew 17:20 (NASB) Let us focus on the word “say” for a moment. The act of saying, according to Jesus in this verse, is meant to shape the world as it will be, not as it is.

  • Talk It Over (Week 3) Trust the Process
Divine Direction Talk It Over (Week 3) Trust The Process SMALL TALK 1. How decisive are you on a scale of 1-10? Why do you think you’re that way? 2. What was your last difficult decision to make? How’d you make it? VIEWPOINT 3. READ Acts 20:22-24. Describe what you think it means, to be “compelled by the Spirit”. Since the question asks what you think it means, don’t worry about giving a wrong answer, this is what you think it means right now. Acts 20:22-24 (NIV) {22} “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. {23} I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. {24} However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. The word “compelled” in Greek is dedemenos, translated “bound”, “constrained”, “compelled”, “tied”, “fastened.” The idea here is “Compelled by the Spirit” , constrained by the Spirit, Bound by the Spirit, captivated by, wrapped up, drawn, led, being pulled by the Spirit in a particular direction. It is describing when an idea is “fastened” to you. You are “fascinated” by the idea. You cannot let it go and you believe the directive, or idea comes from God’s Spirit. Have you ever felt that? Perhaps it started as a prompting thought.

  • Read 1 John 1:9 Day 1 Read Psalm 103:8-10 Day 2 Week
WEEK ONE K-5TH READ 1 JOHN 1:9 DAY 1 Find a REALLY dirty penny and let’s perform a little science experiment. Ask an adult for some lemon juice or ketchup from the kitchen. Place that dirty penny into the bottom of the bowl, squeeze in some lemon juice or ketchup and let it sit while we talk about this verse This month is all about forgiveness. Forgiveness is deciding that someone who has wronged you doesn’t have to pay. That’s really easy to say, but it’s super hard to actually do. Because when someone hurts you, you might want that person to hurt, too. But God wants us to choose forgiveness instead. And guess what? You can choose to forgive for one super important reason: God forgives you. Let’s go back to your penny for a second. Lift it out of the bowl, rinse it off in the sink and dry with a paper towel. Does it look shiny and new? We are all like that once-dirty penny. If we confess or tell God what we’ve done and ask for forgiveness, he promises to make us pure, just like that pretty shiny penny. THANK God for choosing to forgive so that we can also forgive others. READ PSALM 103:8-10 DAY 2 When someone does something that bugs you, are you quick to respond in anger? Do you stay mad until the other person apologizes? Do you want to pay back wrong for wrong? In other words, when someone does something that hurts you or they let you down, is your first instinct to get back at them? Take a look at this verse.

Question: How did the subject matter influence your choice of musical 'style' or 'flavor' for Prince of Egypt? Does it contain any 'middle eastern' type of sound? Answer from Stephen Schwartz: The locale and period of PRINCE OF EGYPT absolutely influenced the sound of the music. I wanted to come up with a sound for the songs that was accessible to a contemporary audience but at the same time was redolent of both Egyptian and Hebraic flavors. When I'm working on a score set in a specific place and time, I try to prepare by listening to and playing on the piano a lot of source music; then when I start to write, I don't think about it consciously, but the influence in my unconscious is certainly there. Thus, in the same way that I prepared for writing THE BAKER'S WIFE score by listening to and playing on the piano Debussy, Edith Piaf songs and French folk music, or for my upcoming Disney TV project GEPPETTO by listening to and playing Verdi, Rossini, Nino Rota and Italian folk songs, for PRINCE OF EGYPT I used Hebrew folk records, tapes of ancient Egyptian court music, and even pop tapes I picked up in Cairo on a research trip to Egypt.
