Hi Coach, How are you doing? I hope you can read this as I believe you will pick up some valuable information and use it to help your kids and parents. I wish you the best always Coach. I would like to ask you for a favor. Can you PLEASE read the information below? We have our Marketing Workouts coming up and this information below is what I sent to the players. I want you to see what I said and I have studied this recruiting thing inside and out and there is some excellent information below for you to maybe talk to your parents or kids about. After reading this, then please open the attachment to see what we are doing with our Marketing Workouts.

I own Next Step College Sports (www.nextstepcollegesports.com) and I work with families every year in getting their information out to colleges. For me, this is a job where I spend about 8 to 10 hours a day and I normally only have around 30 players, so this is not a big company at all. I don't market our program as I only take a few kids per year. It seems as most of the kids we have are from families that we are close to. Every once in awhile we are contacted, but this is unusual. So many parents today simply believe the college recruiting process is something like this.... "I grew up in the United States, I play and start in , I am All-League, and so I will just sit around waiting for the D-1 offers."

I believe that 2% of players in the US and Canada are the guys that get the big-time offers very early in the process. The other 98% are in some trouble unless they do things rights. Here are just a few things to think about:

D-1 and D-1AA coaches ARE NOT ALLOWED to view workouts in the winter or spring. We send a very detailed spreadsheet on every player who attends these events to D-1, D-1AA, D-2, D-3, NAIA, and Canadian Universities and to Junior Colleges throughout the country. I promise you this, for the cost of this workout; it would cost a family a lot more if they tried to put together an email list that sends information to over 3,000 coaches in America and Canada. For any player, the first thing they must do is somehow; someway simply get their contact info and a bio to college coaches. In other words just introduce yourself to the college coaches! With the "spam issue" lots of emails get turned away. We have very good results in getting our information to the colleges. To me, it is this simple; in the spring of your junior year, if you and your parents can find a way to get you basic ABC information to colleges of ALL LEVELS then you don't need to do much more other than put together some junior skill video, a skill video and put it on You Tube. Then in your senior year put together game film on YouTube and let the coaches know that it is up. It is networking that helps the player and family. Now you can concentrate on having fun as a senior in high school.

We will invite the local D-2, D-3, and NAIA coaches to our Marketing Workouts this year. We normally have a pretty good turnout of coaches‟ show up as this is one event where they have an opportunity to see so many good players in one event. Of course they are all given all of your information that you have provided to us when you register online at: www.bartonfootball.com

The camps will be for incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. We will also welcome any current seniors who are still looking for a home. In addition if a player has left a college and he is now looking for a new college, that player can participate in these workouts. Over the years we have had a lot of these examples: Josh Riddle from McKay High School, in Salem, was a scholarship QB at Mississippi State. Josh decided to leave as he wanted to come back to the West Coast. He came to our Marketing Workout and just about every college coach in attendance, was watching him like a hawk. Josh was immediately contacted by a lot of colleges throughout the country and he decided to go to Western Oregon University where he started at QB for them for two years. Jermaine Olson from Jesuit High School went to U of Montana and played well there for his freshman year. For whatever reason he decided to leave and he went to a JC in Arizona. He came to our Marketing Workout and everyone was going crazy on him. We sent out of the information and within days he was signed with Utah State. He was a player, he simply needed to get his info out there in the country and that would not have been easy for either Jermaine or his mother.

Now let’s talk about the IMPORTANT things to know as a player, a parent and as A COACH.

1) The population of our country has gone from 179,323,175 in 1960 to 308,745,538 in 2010. That is an INCREASE of 129,422,363 people in our country during this time.

2) Now let‟s talk football and look at when some of the colleges in the Northwest were built and/or founded. Starting with D-1 schools, the University of Washington was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1861. Washington State University was founded in 1890. Oregon State University was incorporated in 1865. In 1873, construction began on Deady Hall, the first building on the campus. At the D-1AA level, there are only two Big Sky schools in the NW. Eastern Washington was founded in 1882 and Portland State University began competing at the college level in 1947. At the D-2 level, there are only two colleges in the NW. Central Washington was founded in 1891 and Western Oregon was founded in 1856. Some of the NW D-3 schools in Washington include Puget Sound University (on March 17, 1888 legal paperwork was finalized beginning the college), Pacific Lutheran University (founded in 1890), and Whitworth College was incorporated in 1890 and in 1899 the college moved to Tacoma and then the school moved once more to Spokane in 1914. In Oregon D-3 schools include Linfield College, (which was chartered in 1858 with the name of McMinnville College. In 1922, the name was changed to Linfield College.), (the oldest University in the Western United States being founded in 1842), Pacific University (In 1854, Pacific University became a college), Lewis and Clark College (in 1941 Albany College was given property generosity of the Lloyd Frank Family in Portland‟s southwest hills. Immediately the trustees changed the school‟s name to Lewis and Clark College). There are two NAIA colleges in Oregon, one is Eastern Oregon University (founded in 1929) and the other is Southern Oregon University (founded in 1926).

3) Let‟s quickly take a look at some colleges around the United States. State University played their first game on May 3, 1890 vs. Ohio Wesleyan University. Notre Dame in their inaugural game on November 23, 1887 lost to Michigan by a score of 8-0. The University of ‟s first game came in 1906 against the Gainesville Athletic Club. Florida won 6-0. Florida State‟s first season of football was in 1947; they went 0-5 in that season. USC fielded its first team in 1888 and the University of Texas started football in 1893. Rutgers versus Princeton, in 1869, was the first American college football game ever played. The University of Tennessee football program began in 1891 and the University of Miami‟s first football game was on October 29, 1927. The University of Kansas had their first game on November 22, 1890 against Baker University and Syracuse University kicked off their football in 1889 vs. the University of Rochester. The University of Oklahoma made its start in September 1895, while the University of Nebraska began play in 1890 with a 10-0 victory over the Omaha YMCA on Thanksgiving Day. Harvard and Yale have a huge rivalry and football dates back to 1875. The was founded in 1817 and played their first football game on May 30, 1879. The University of Iowa‟s first season was 1889 and they have been in the since 1900. The University of Colorado„s first football season was in 1890 and Brigham Young University got it‟s official start until 1922.

4) When I played at the Junior College level and at the 4-year level (1964 and 65 at JC and 66 and 1967 at 4-year College) our rosters were huge and so were our opponents‟ rosters. So my question is simple: If the rosters back then were big and if in fact our country‟s population has grown over 120,000,000 since 1960, then to make up for this, it seems like we need to build a whole bunch of new colleges so kids we have an opportunity to play college football. How many brand new colleges have been built in the United States since 1960 that play football today? Getting back to the roster size, in my day the rosters were huge, then the NCAA stepped in and put a limit on roster size so my question is this: Was there actually more players playing D-1 football than today? I don't have that answer but common sense tells me that when the NCAA put a lid on the roster size, that in itself pushed players down to D-1AA, D-2, D3 or NAIA.

5) I have had a few people tell me that there have been some colleges in the country who have added football to their program. That is a fact, no question about this. But I believe that for every college that decides to add football, there will be 5 that decide to drop football due to the financial burden that football puts on the entire athletic department. Pacific University a D-3 school in Oregon added football last fall. But around the same time Western Washington, a D-2 school decided to drop football. I really believe there are far more that drop football due to the cost of running football than school‟s who decide to add football. I hope I am wrong on this! George Fox College in Oregon has announced that they will be adding football in the year 2013 and this is obviously a good thing for the players and coaches in the Northwest. It is important that every player think long and hard about small college football. Until you have a D-1 offer, you MUST keep all of your options open. First, small college football is a very high level of play and second there are amazing opportunities at these levels. We have excellent small college football in the NW. At the D-2 level in Washington we have Central Washington, an excellent school. Western Oregon is a very strong D-2 school in Oregon, Simon Fraser has joined D-2 football from British Columbia, Canada and Humboldt State is in Northern California. D-3 schools in the Northwest include Washington schools like Whitworth, Puget Sound, and PLU. D-3 colleges in Oregon are Lewis and Clark College, Linfield College, Pacific University, and Willamette University. There are two NAIA colleges in Oregon; Southern Oregon University and Eastern Oregon University. All of these colleges are excellent both academically and athletically. The problem is simple; I wish we had more small colleges in the NW. Why do I say this? Well, in my opinion we have lots of talent in our region of US. We have 4 D-1 schools (Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State) and two D-1AA schools (Eastern Washington and Portland State University). That is 6 D-1 and D1AA colleges and we must keep in mind they pick up lots of players from other states. Speaking of small college football, the majority of the small colleges in our country are located in the Midwest to the East Coast. This is why it is IMPORTANT to let small colleges know throughout the US and Canada that you are interested IN THE SPRING OF THEIR JUNIOR YEAR and here is my contact info, my bio and you can go to YouTube.com to watch my junior game film and a Skill Video. In the fall I will put my game film on YouTube and contact you letting you know I have my film up. This sounds simple, but 90% of the kids really mess this up and then all hell breaks loose in December, January and February.

Many of these colleges‟ coaches will be at our Marketing Workouts. The D-1 and D-AA schools will receive your information from us. The last thing I want to mention is you must also look around the country and let colleges know that you are interested in learning more about their program. Recruiting changes from year-to-year in regards of their wants and needs. Let‟s say this next fall - colleges in the NW are each going to take ONE . (The list above is 6 D-1 and D-1AA schools, 4 D-2 schools, 7 D-3 schools and 2 NAIA schools from Oregon and Washington). That is 19 QBs from the areas of Vancouver, Canada, the state of Washington, the state of Oregon and in Northern California. Are you one of the top 19 QBs from these areas? Keep in mind also that Oregon in a national recruiting school now and OSU is huge in the NW, Hawaii, California and moving into Texas. Washington is huge in the NW and big in California, especially Southern California. Washington State is big in Washington and California. Just look at the rosters and you will see lots of players from these states playing for them. If you are a TE, maybe 10 of these 19 schools have decided not to recruit a this year. In conclusion, it is wise to get your information out to as many colleges as possible, throughout the country.

If you get a D-1 offer...that is wonderful. If you do not get a D-1 offer, then be prepared by getting your information to schools of all levels. Most wait until the last minute to try looking into a small college. Keep in mind, while you are waiting on the D-1 offer, the small college coaches are out there battling for player‟s day-after-day. These are excellent coaches and they want kids who want to play. They are in the position now that they have lots of players out there to recruit (due to our huge population) so if you are not on their radar, later when you decide to contact them, it might be too late. This has happened to so many this year. I feel terrible for the kids, but there's not much I can do about it. PLEASE be aggressive, be smart and keep an open mind as to what level you can play. Only D-1 schools can determine that you can play D-1 football!!!!! Only D-1AA schools can determine if you can play at their level!!!! Only D-2 schools can figure out if you can play at their level!!! Who decides if you can play D-3 football? It is the D- 3 college coaches, they are judge and jury!!!! Same with NAIA schools; the coaches will determine who can and who can't play at their level. My point again is simple; if you put all of your efforts into D-1 and you ignore the small schools, you might be in real trouble. If a D-1 school offers, you win, but if you ignore the small schools and concentrate just on the D-1 schools, if that D-1 offer does not come, you might be in major trouble. Keep your options open and remember more than likely this will be a very long journey for you. Get lots of this WORK done in the spring of your junior year. If you do this, now you can concentrate on having fun in your senior year and as important putting your total efforts into helping your football team (your teammates).Even Junior College football has changed since 1960. I played at Long Beach City College in Southern California in 1964 and 1965. We won the Junior Rose Bowl and National championship in 1964. 98% of my teammates were all from Long Beach, California. Almost every JC we played with the exception of Bakersfield (California) were rosters made up from maybe 5 high schools in their immediate area. Today kids are playing California JC football from all over the country. When my son played one year at San Francisco City College they had players from Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Ohio, and more. It was crazy. Again let‟s get back to the increase in population in our country. The population since 1960 has increased by over 129,000,000 and I sure haven‟t heard of any new Junior Colleges being built in our country that play football. So again, lots more kids and the same amount of Junior Colleges. Simple common sense says, "College recruiting is a battle for the families". One area that gets us in trouble is all the players and parents go to the websites and read about ALL OF THESE players getting early offers...... guys they are a small number of the total numbers of players who will be seniors next fall. I use this in discussing players being recruited...... 2% are big-time guys...they are the ones getting the early offers, they can have average to poor grades and their doors are being kicked in as everyone wants them. So what about the other 98% of the players???? In my opinion, they have a major battle on their hands and it will be a long battle. Most think they are big-time, but MOST will soon learn that this is going to be a long and tough battle. I would guess that 50% of that 98% will be tough and not quit; they will battle until the end. The other 50% of the 98% will get depressed, confused, be unorganized, want to quit, blame others like their high school coach and they will refuse to take that offer from that D-2 school in Boston, or that D-3 school in Washington or that NAIA offer from Texas. Guys this is what I have seen for over 25 years of helping kids with college.

There are positives about the college recruiting if the player and his parents really know and understand what is in front of them. If you learn what to do and how to react to situations that jump out at you, both good and bad, then you will be fine. The problem is we have "been programmed" growing up watching college football on TV (meaning all we see growing up is D-1 football) and now being on the internet 3 or 4 hours a day...... thus learning that everything positive will happen RIGHT NOW. Your generation wants instant gratification and success. Well in the recruiting process, only 2% of the kids will experience that "instant gratification." All others, meaning that 98%; will need help, support, and knowledge about this process. Last you need to fire up and understand this will be a long process.

Another critical thing for you to remember is if you determine that you are NOT a D-1 player, now the real tough work begins in finding a small college. D-1 is simple, you are either a D-1 player or you are not. The D-1 schools will determine your outcome. Now you have two choice if things don‟t work out at the D-1 or D-1AA levels; you can say “I am a D-1 or D-1AA player” and now you go to a Junior College for one or two years to prove you are right. If you have poor grades, you will more than likely be going to a JC for two years if you didn‟t qualify out of high school. You will need to earn your Bachelor of Arts degree to move on to a 4-year college. If you qualified academically out of high school, then you can leave after playing in the fall at a JC. In other words, you are at the JC for just one semester and you are out. Now this will be determined by how well you play and if in fact you are that D-1 or D-1AA player. Now let‟s say after one or two years in a JC, you come to the realization that you are a small college player. Or let‟s say coming out of high school, you finally come to the conclusion that you are a small college player, now the real tough work begins. This is where the huge increase in our population comes to the front and it can bite you unless you are mentally tough. You are now in a huge pool of players fighting for your life due to the small amount of opportunities. If you put all of your eggs in one basket, meaning “I just want to go to a school in the NW” there are some things you must take on. One is simply we don‟t have many small colleges here in the NW so the competition is going to be intense. Second many of our small colleges have very high academic standards, so you must have very high grades and excellent SAT/ACT test scores. The last part of the tough part is many of these schools are very expensive. That is why you need to network; you need to get your name out around the country. If you qualify in the NW and if you are a kid the small school wants and your parents can afford the cost or if you qualify for need money, then you have a shot in the NW. But if the NW schools don‟t jump in to recruit you due to having so many players here and such few small colleges, then you need to look outside of the NW. If you wait until the last minute, you are pretty much toast. Remember the biggest amount of small colleges in our country is from the Midwest to the east coast. This is where time, can‟t you? Remember the work for the D-1 and D-1AA schools will simply be them watching your film and them making a decision. You do not have a whole lot to say about the outcome. Regarding the small colleges, you better show an aggressive attitude towards them as again they have that huge pool of players and not much time to make the decision. They also control the situation as there a more qualified and excellent players out there than they need. So at the end, due to our population growth, there will be many outstanding college prospects that walk away with nothing. This unfortunately is the truth.

Thanks guys, I hope some of this will help get you going. It is important for families to begin thinking about this early in the high school years simply due to the college costs for tuition, room and board that is close to looking you right in the eye. Before you know it, you will be looking at colleges....so why wait? Get ahead of others in beginning YOUR game plan early. I wish all of you the best.

The first step is getting signed up for the 2011 Marketing Workout. We are offering two of these events in May. See the attachment to get more detailed information. I promise you that this should be your first step in preparing to market your son to colleges around the country. The Barton Football Academy will assist your son in becoming a better football player, now let the Marketing Workout give you a big a nice head start in the recruiting process by getting your son's contact information out to D-1, D-1AA, D-2, D-3, NAIA schools. In addition we will send the same information to the Canadian Universities and the Junior Colleges. I promise you that this will give you a nice kick start. This is our goal and then it is up to you to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

The most important thing is buying into your high school program. I don't care what level of play you are at in high school. If you have talent and you do the right things, there are opportunities. Be a team guy, not “a me” guy. In football you must be loyal to your program. Your high school coaches put a lot of time in building their football program. Your attitude can make or break a program. Your comments can make or break a program. If you ARE a recruited player, if you are a guy that will receive offers during your senior year, then you need to be smart. If you receive an offer everyone on your team knows about it and so do their parents. I have seen this a lot in my lifetime...... Joe is in his senior year and he receives two scholarship offers. Joe talks about it to all of his buddies and he never shuts up. Joe talks continuously from his two-a-day practices all the way until their season ending banquet. Everyday Joe comes to school telling everyone that X University called me last night, followed by Y University. - What Joe doesn‟t understand is that he is the only guy that has an offer and he is slowly being hated by his teammates because the talk is all about him, not any of the other guys. Slowly the parents begin getting pissed off as they are jealous and simply turned off due to him only caring about himself. Slowly but surely a disease is moving in on the team; soon everything will fall down and our team will be nothing. One guy who is not smart enough to keep his mouth shut has taken everyone down. Now let‟s look at Bob. Now Bob has those 2 scholarships and he never talks about them. His teammates know as they read about him all the time on Rivals.com or Scout.com. One day Jeff comes up and says, "Hey Bob, I saw on Rivals that Oregon State might be ready to offer you, what's going on with this?" Bob simply says, "Hey Jeff, all of this is just hear say...it's nothing. Hey forget me, let‟s talk about you. Last night in 7 x 7 you were awesome. I see a huge night for you this Friday. Without question you are the most improved player on this team. We wouldn‟t be 6 and 0 without you. I can't wait for this game; I believe our team is getting better each and every day. We have tremendous senior leadership and even though you are just a junior, everyone, including me, feels you inspire anyone with your no give up personality." Now who is handling the recruiting better and who is thinking about the team? Of course Bob is doing things the right way. Guess what? Now the parents hear that their super star is always building up the other players, now who do they respect and love? Of course it's Bob again. Guys there are nothing better in life than playing on a great team. It will stay with you forever. Don't be that guy that takes a team down, be that guy that picks the team up and that guy who is positive all of the time. When it comes to bragging, Bob doesn‟t know what that word means. His actions and productivity do all the talking. His talking is being positive about the coaches and teammates each and everyday

Coach, I hope you can talk to some of your players and parents about joining us in our Marketing Workouts. I honestly believe that just by us sending his information to college coaches throughout the US and Canada at this time of the year, it will get him off to a huge start in the of college coaches. In addition, most of the staffs of the local small colleges will be in attendance and that is big. You can only go to so many camps in the summer. Most colleges offer their camps the last 2 weeks of June and maybe one in July. If he goes to the Linfield camp and the Oregon State camp, then the rest of the small colleges do not get the opportunity to see him in person. On just one day in the Marketing Workout, Linfield has already told us there will be 2 to 4 coaches at each of our Marketing Workouts. Simon Fraser in BC who is a D-2 school contacted us today and said they will have coaches at both workouts. Marc Speckman from Willamette University emailed us today saying they will have coaches in both Oregon and Washington. Jeff Thomas at Puget Sound will have almost his entire staff at both workouts. Craig Howard the new at Southern Oregon said he will have much of his staff at both workouts. We are still waiting to hear from the others.

Please see the attachment above for information on the 2011 Barton Marketing Workouts that will be held in both Washington (May 7) and Oregon (May 14). Please take the time to read the entire message. We have included pictures of some of our participants and what college they decided on and most important we want you to see a few emails that were sent by college coaches to us from around the country. We have over 3,500 emails that have been sent to us regarding our Marketing Workout. I copied and pasted a few of these to give you and your parents a feel of what we do with the college coaches.

*** Below are pictures of a few of the players that have come to our Marketing Workouts. These pictures might give you a little feel for what these days are all about. I thought we would also share this with you……

We enjoy doing the Marketing Workout each year as it is fun to see a young man for the first time that catches our eye. Last year at Willamette University in Salem, OR we had that opportunity as standing in line to register was one of the biggest young men we have seen in this event. We had never heard of Walker Williams, but in about 60 seconds we sure learned a lot about him. Walker was in the spring of his sophomore year of high school up in Tacoma, Washington. He goes to school at Tacoma Baptist and on that day he checked in at 6’6 ½ and 334 pounds. He looked good and he worked hard. Now one year later, he has D-1 offers from the University of Wisconsin, Oregon State University and UCLA. He will be a senior next fall and we expect lots more offers to come his way. (see his picture from our Marketing Workout last spring…BELOW)

Marketing Workout College Coaches Emails re: our Marketing Workouts

Thank you, Greg. I appreciate your follow up. I‟ll have my recruiting staff take a look at this.

Bo Pelini Head Coach University of Nebraska Football

Thanks Greg, For us, the Marketing Workout was very good event. Have a great summer.

Mark Speckman Head Football Coach Willamette University

Greg,

Please send me a copy of your coaches‟ packet from your Willamette Marketing Workout as soon as it becomes available. Also, have you worked with Jordan Johnson at all from Sheldon High School, if so what are your impressions of him?

Thanks, Ian

Ian Shields Army Football

Thanks Greg- Can Dominik be a triple option QB? Very interested! Military connection and international business may help us too. Does he play Rugby too?

My priority for next year‟s recruiting class is offensive skill. We set our sights very high this year and didn‟t pull the trigger on any fast WR's. Any advice/direction would be helpful. Looks like some good prospects on the Marketing Workout list you sent in the skill area.

Thanks again Coach Barton!

Clayton Kendrick-Holmes State University of New York Maritime!

Hi Greg, I want to thank you for inviting our staff to your Marketing Workout to Lewis and Clark College. We sent three coaches and they had a productive day. I understand that your workout was first class all the way. Congratulations for a job well done. I want to also thank you for the information you gave us. It sure helps us save time when you also provide all of the players contact information. This is a nice service that you are providing to the NW.

Please say hi to Taylor for me. One other thing; thanks for the information you send me throughout the year on kids that have come out of your camps. I appreciate the time you take to give us so much information as it really helps us in the recruiting process.

Mike

Mike Bellotti Head Football Coach University of Oregon

Greg, Thank you for the note: we would appreciate any information you can send us from your Marketing Workouts. Thanks and I wish you the best always.

Kirk Ferentz Head Football Coach University of Iowa

Coach Barton How are you doing? I hope Taylor is having fun with his football camps. Tell him that I said hi. Can you send us your Marketing Combine info? Thanks Greg.

Nick

Nick Rolovich Assistant Football Coach University of Hawaii

Greg I will definitely contact the dad about the QB. He would be immediately eligible here if he grey shirted at ____. I can‟t wait to see you in Salem in a couple of weeks for your Marketing Workout. Coach Halstead and I got great reports from our coaches who went down to the Mercer Island Workout. They said it was run exceptionally well (which is not a surprise to me; but wanted to pass along what others had thought of it). Thanks for your help, as usual; I appreciate everything you do for us.

Jeff

Jeff Thomas Head Football Coach Puget Sound University

Coach Barton,

Thanks for the email. We would love to get testing information/times on the prospects at your camp. Thanks again!

Go Ducks! Jim Fisher Recruiting Coordinator University of Oregon Football

Hey Greg, Tell Taylor that I said hi and tell him to call me. Thanks for the call and I appreciate your support. As you know we can‟t attend your Marketing Workout. I have great memories of your Marketing Workout when I was at Oregon State University. Our entire staff really enjoyed you and Taylor‟s effort in putting together a class event. Please send me the player‟s information. This will help us out in our recruiting. Hopefully the NCAA will change the rules and let us attend events like yours again; I sure hope so.

Nigel

Nigel Burton Head Football Coach Portland State University

Thanks Greg-

Been crazy around here with spring ball, and finishing up recruiting. It is a long haul for us. I think we may end up with 70 incoming freshman. I can‟t believe it.

Financial aid was very good this year, as last year it was bad. The interest was greater as well, due to the season we had; I am sure.

Thanks for all you do. I will look to the Marketing Workout and I will let you know right away how many coaches we will be sending to your event. I‟ll get back to you quickly!

Joe

Joe Smith Head Football Coach Linfield College

Coach Barton, Good hearing from you. I hope you and Taylor are having fun and success with your football training in the Northwest. As you know, the NCAA does not allow D-1 schools to view players in the spring. Can you still send me all of the player‟s information from your combine? I would appreciate this. Did you and Taylor work the Portland NIKE Coach of the Year clinic this year?

Let me know if there are some players in the Northwest that we should be looking at. Thanks Greg.

Todd

Todd Spencer Offensive Line Coach Georgia Tech University

Greg,

Please send us the information from the Marketing Workout Camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Appreciate it! Keep up the good work that you do! Coach Riley and our entire staff wish the NCAA would allow us to come to your event. Our coaches loved going and spending the day with you and Taylor in years past.

Greg, Congratulations to you, Taylor and your Barton Football staff. I really enjoyed the Marketing Workout yesterday. I also appreciate you sending us the camp roster a couple of days ago as that helped us in getting organized. Our entire staff enjoyed the experience and we saw some excellent players of all ages. I like being able to see the seniors to be, but it is also beneficial to see the younger players. This gives us an early look at some excellent players. Thanks for what you and Taylor do for the sport of football in the Northwest.

BT

Greg, Pass send me the player information from your two Marketing Workouts. Hope you and Taylor are doing well. Thank you.

Andy

Andy Thompson Northern Arizona University

Greg, Thanks so much for the combine results from Oregon and Wash. No sure if this is possible but if there is any way you could track kids with Canadian connections through your paperwork at these combines, i.e. born in Canada, a parent from Canada that would be like gold for us. Those kids become so much more attractive to our program because about $12,000 - $15,000.00 is knocked of tuition costs. Do you have a number that I can reach you at to discuss this further. Thanks.

Paul

Paul Orazietti Assistant Football Coach & Recruiting Coordinator UBC THUNDERBIRD FOOTBALL

Greg, Our coaching staff plans to attend this Saturday's workout. I hope Coach Smith already let you know this. I expect we'll have 4-6 coaches representing Linfield College. Thanks for having us. This is an event that we enjoy and that is very productive for us as a staff.

Phil

Thank you for the email you sent me on your Marketing Workout. Thank you for offering to send us player and contact information and I would appreciate you sending this to me. Obviously we want players that are national recruits and I know the NW has players at some of the biggest schools in the country. We want to get in with those types of players. Anything you can do for us is appreciated. I wish you the best in your football training. I have heard that you guys do one heck of a job in working with the quarterbacks. Here is my cell phone; ______, feel free to call me anytime. Let‟s stay in touch.

I would like to have the final list of prospects email/mailed to me. I am at Greenville College. Thank you!

Jeff DiSandro Assistant Football Coach Greenville College 315 E. College Ave Greenville, IL

Hello Greg,

Thank you so much for all the Marketing Workout information you sent me on all the kids. I would appreciate it if you could send your other kids info that went down to California and Washington. That would be great!

Another question is do you know who your top kids are? I know you are trying to get every kid a look and give them a great opportunity, but we have 85 kids on our team and we bring around 40 kids or more into camp. I just do not want to have one of your guys come up here and then not have a chance of making the team.

I know that is a lot to ask, but whatever you can tell me that would be great.

Thanks again for everything and I hope to hear from you soon.

Mickey Donovan University of Western Ontario

Coach Barton, We will have quite a few coaches at your Marketing Workout in two weeks. Everyone has enjoyed their experience over the years and all of us are looking forward to being at the event. I am hoping that you can send us an early roster so we can have a staff meeting a few days before the workout to organize our staff assignments. You have sent us the camp roster early the past couple of years and this has helped us get organized. Can you call me to let me know if this is possible? Thanks coach and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Fred

Fred Guidici Assistant Football Coach Menlo College

Thanks a bunch Greg. I'll get on calling these guys right away. There were a bunch of kids at the Marketing Workout that would look good in a blue and white Oak uniform.

Adam Hazel Menlo College

Hey Greg,

The reason I actually called you today was to tell you that the Gavilan JC coaches are excited that you helped them get a QB. I was coaching a camp and their QB coach used to coach at Menlo and he was telling me he only had 2 for the fall so I gave him your number and that‟s awesome you could help get them a QB. The Gavilan coach said it was a Western Oregon transfer named Nick Kalantari.

I've gotten great feedback from the May Marketing Workout in Salem. Nick Tezak from Arlington, WA has already visited Menlo and I've talked to Taylor Worley of Clackamas a few times. And many others said they'll be at the game when we play up in Tacoma vs. Pacific Lutheran. Hopefully we can get 5-10 kids a year from the Northwest that is our plan and goal as a coaching staff.

Thanks again, Adam

Adam Hazel Assistant Football Coach Menlo College

Hey Greg thanks again for that Marketing Workout list to me. . I sent e-mails to all of them. About half of them I have already talked with after the May combine in Salem so this is good to keep Menlo College fresh in their head. I also wrote a long e-mail to Corey Shears' dad telling him about our History program because that is what Corey wants to do and that‟s what I got my B.A. in. I think Corey will be President of the U.S. just by coaching him at a few of your camps and talking with him at the Salem Marketing Workout. He‟s a great kid!

Thanks again, Adam

Adam Hazel Assistant Football Coach Menlo College

Thanks for your email.

Greg,

SOU will be represented at your Marketing Workout - we will have four coaches in attendance. These work-outs have been outstanding in the past and I'm sure this one will be extremely valuable to us as well. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend - I and 16 SOU players are volunteering our time for a youth skills clinic in Medford.

Also, wanted to thank you for your help with Patrick Thibeault; we gave it a shot and I believe he will be going somewhere else.

Thanks, Steve

We don‟t get many kids from the Northwest, but I would sure like to find some. Jeron Mastrud from Oregon started for us for all four years and he was an Academic All American. I thank you for your support when we were recruiting him. We need to open up the NW a little as I would like to grab a couple of players each year from your area. Ndamukong Suh and the Johnson kid at Notre Dame are examples of two great linemen that I look back and think now that we should have recruited them. Please keep me up to date on any young men that you feel can play in the Big 12. It was good hearing from you.

Paul

Paul Chryst Assistant Football Coach University of Wisconsin

Greg - Nice hearing from you. Please send us your Marketing Workout information. We appreciate the time you take to put this information together. You asked in your email what positions we are looking for and the answer is every position. As you know for us to find and recruit someone from the West Coast, they need to be special. I know there are great young men on the West Coast every year and if we can get a few from time-to-time, it would be great. Usually for us to hear about a special kid from so far away, it will come from someone like yourself who is working with high school players from all over the NW. You might hear of a young man that has family ties in the southeast or maybe just has grown up wanting to play SEC football. We have some nice contacts in California and it does help in our recruiting. So please feel free to send us your Marketing Workout info and any other info about players you come across. When I was at Boise State, we appreciated your efforts in letting us know about the kids in the NW and we got a lot of great players from Oregon and Washington over the years. So if you come across those big-time types of players, please let us know about them.

Again, it was nice hearing from you and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Justin

Justin Wilcox Assistant Football Coach University of Tennessee
