November 1, 2012 WORLD BOWLING TOUR FINALS SET ARLINGTON, Texas – The 2012 World Tenpin Bowling Association World Bowling Tour regular season came to a close over the weekend and the players who will battle for a $70,000 prize pool in a special season-ending event has been determined. The top three men and top three women in the tour points standings advanced to the WTBA Bayer Advanced Aspirin World Bowling Tour Finals, which will take place in Las Vegas, United States, on Nov. 10. None of the top three men in the standings competed in the AMF Australian Masters over the weekend but all three had already mathematically locked up spots in the finals. Finland’s Mika Koivuniemi earned top honors with 408 points, while Mike Fagan of the United States finished second with 342 points and Chris Barnes of the United States finishing third with 338. On the women’s side, all three players who advanced are from the United States and the top three saw no change after the Australian event. Missy Parkin, who finished second in Australia, took first with 369 points, Kelly Kulick was second with 344 and Liz Johnson got the last spot with 295 points. The World Bowling Tour is made up of various events around the world and players earn points based on how they finish in each event. The current points system is based on a continuous two-year cycle, so points earned in 2011 are added to points earned in 2012 to determine the points list.
