One of the Active Greats Senior faceoff specialist Alex Woodall currently ranks second among active NCAA Division I lacrosse players with 650 career faceoff wins. He trails only Yale’s TD Ierlan (863). Woodall surpassed Justin Berry for the program’s all-time career faceoff wins in the Tigers’ win over Hofstra, winning the 508th of his Black & Gold career. Berry and Woodall are the only players in program history to win at least 500 career faceoffs. Woodall has a chance at the program’s single- season faceoff wins mark of 257, set by Justin Berry in 2001.

During the 2016 CAA Tournament, Nadelen collected the 50th win of his tenure, besting rival Drexel 10-6 in the semifinals. He became the fastest coach to win 50 Division I games at Towson and is the second-fastest to the mark, including the program’s Division II days. During the 2017 campaign, six Tigers earned USILA All-America mentions: Second Teamers Zach Goodrich and Jack Adams, and Honor- able Mentions Ryan Drenner, Mike Lynch, Tyler Mayes and Alex Woodall. He has coached three CAA Defensive Players of the Year: Tyler White (2016), Tyler Mayes (2017) and Goodrich (2018) During the 2016 season, Nadelen and the Tigers set a program record for wins in a single season, racking up a 16-3 overall record en route to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals. That same season, Towson set a program benchmark for home wins, collecting an 11-1 overall record at Johnny Unitas Stadium. For his efforts in guiding the Tigers to the 2016 CAA Regular Season title and the right to host the CAA Tournament, Nadelen was voted by his league peers as the 2016 CAA Coach of the Year, becoming just the second coach in the program’s history to be named CAA Coach of the Year. Nadelen also saw then-junior Ryan Drenner voted as the program’s second-ever CAA Co-Player of the Year, while Drenner’s classmate, Jack Adams, was named USILA Third-Team All-America. In his time at the head of the program, Nadelen has coached 15 All-CAA First Team selections, 15 All-CAA Second-Team selections, eight CAA All-Rookie Team picks, one CAA Player of the Year, two CAA Defensive Players of the Year, three CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Players. Under his guidance, the Tigers have never missed the CAA Tournament while placing 17 student-athletes on the CAA All-Tournament Team.
