The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of a skilled nursing / long-term care facility’s department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Duties will follow policies and procedures working directly with the Administrator and Medical Director.

Required Education / ü  Registered Nurse “R.N.” Missouri Licensure in Good-Standing from accredited school of nursing; or
ü  Bachelor of Science in Nursing “BSN” degree – preferred
Experience / ü  3-5 Years Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care Environment
ü  Point-Click-Care Software User
ü  Medicare & Medicaid Terminology & Processes
ü  Strong Written & Verbal Skills

Job Description – Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing promotes the physical and emotional well-being of nursing facility residents. They will maintain administrative functions, nursing staff scheduling, departmental oversight, floor nursing duties, and use proper nursing care functions to maintain staff development. The Director of Nursing is expected to mentor staff and monitor process completion. They will perform nursing in-service training while performing as a team within the facility’s leadership team.

Delegation of duties from nursing supplies management to care plan assessments allow the Director of Nursing ensure compliance for Medicare & Medicaid resident management. Budget & Planning activities, proper working attire, and staff management are the responsibility of the Director of Nursing—ensuring resident rights and dignity are met.

Qualifications

RN Certification in good-standing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing “BSN” degree

·  Must understand Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care Processes
