The Class of 2000

Dear «Salutation»,

We hope you were able to attend the fantastic 2000 Senior Class Campaign Kick- 2000 Senior Campaign Steering Committee Off Celebration held last night in the Auxiliary Dining Room. This event reminded us that we are about to become alumnae of Sweet Briar College. As alumnae, we will Lucy Brooks want to show our commitment to Sweet Briar by keeping our bonds with each other Virginia Gilbert and with the College as strong as they are now. We have a wonderful opportunity to Co-Chairs show this commitment to Sweet Briar before graduation by joining our fellow classmates in the 2000 Senior Class Campaign. Josie Beets Kibby Bryenton We encourage you to read the enclosed brochure that explains the 2000 Senior Class Christine Bump Campaign - “Making Our Mark.” Since 1996, each senior class has participated in Kristy Chatham a Senior Class Campaign that has achieved greater success than the year before. Our Melissa Fauber class campaign will benefit the Alumnae Fund over the next four years. During the Alissa Harris Jackie Hauslein 2000 Senior Class Campaign, you have the opportunity to direct your gift to one of Casey Herman the six vital areas supported by the Alumnae Fund. The enclosed brochure further Kimberly Leach explains the importance of the Alumnae Fund and its impact on each SBC student. Lindsey Perkins Elissa Pugh Your pledge to the Class of 2000 Senior Class Campaign will help the College Alison Stockdale Kate Straccia further develop these program areas, show your belief in Sweet Briar, and enhance the Emily Taylor value of your education. The goals for the 2000 Senior Class Campaign are $14,000, Benedicte Valentin payable over four years and more than the 73% participation achieved by the class of Julissa Yabar 1999 . In order to reach our goals it is important that everyone in the Class of Victoria Zak 2000 make her pledge. Your pledge shows Sweet Briar that you want to insure its reputation as an institution of excellence and caring.

Our class has taken SBC by storm since the day we arrived. We have impressed the College with our overwhelming spirit, integrity and compassion. There is no better time than now to make our mark on Sweet Briar as the Class of 2000 enters the new millennium and prepares the way for a new generation of SBC women!

We hope you will consider a four-year pledge of $100, $25 per year with the first payment due in June of 2001.

As two spirited members of this class, we have committed to leadership pledges of $250 for the 2000 Senior Class Campaign. We have chosen to make four-year pledges that can be paid in increasing amounts - $25 the first year, $50 the second year, $75 the third year, and $100 the fourth year. The total amount of $250 is equal to $5 a month for four years. We hope that you will consider making a leadership gift as well. Your pledge, whatever the amount, is important because it counts toward alumnae participation. The higher the number of alumnae that give to Sweet Briar, the higher rankings the College will receive, and the greater value our diplomas will hold.

A Senior Class Campaign Steering Committee member will contact you within the next few weeks. If you have any questions about the campaign, feel free to ask our Steering Committee members or one of us. If you have already made your pledge we thank you for your generosity, participation and dedication to Sweet Briar! We feel confident that the Class of 2000 will surpass last year’s results and have the most successful Senior Class Campaign Sweet Briar has seen! Let’s MAKE OUR MARK!

Sincerely,

Lucy C. Brooks Virginia M. Gilbert Co-Chair 2000 Senior Class Campaign Co-Chair 2000 Senior Class Campaign
