The following intake procedures are to be done before a dog enters another area of the shelter. Exceptions include: aggressive dogs or dogs that we have vaccination records for.
The following ages are listed for med purposes only. See key for what to enter in computer / write on cage card.
ALL ADULT DOGS ( > 6 months )
o DA2PP vaccine
o Bordetella/parainfluenza IN Vaccine
o Frontline Plus topically
o Pyrantel Pamoate _____ cc (Strongid)
o Enter all info into computer and print kennel card
o Write weight on kennel card
ALL JUVENILE ( < 6 Months )
o DA2PP vaccine
o Bordetella/parainfluenza IN Vaccine
o Frontline Plus topically
o Pyrantel Pamoate _____ cc (Strongid)
(OK as early as 2 weeks, repeat in 2 weeks)
o Marquis paste ___cc (0.1cc per 1 lbs.)
(all puppies over 2 weeks)
o Parvo Snap test + / - (only if puppy looks sick)
o Enter all info into computer and print kennel card
o Write weight on kennel card
UNABLE TO ADMIT?
o Let dog calm down for a couple of hours.
o If you can safely leash the animal, move it to a Pre- Adopt kennel.
* Put ‘Not admitted / Staff only’ signs up and locks on BOTH of the kennel doors.
o If the dog is aggressive and is not calming down, have a staff member assist you and put the dog in quarantine.
