Site Maintenance Assistant

Title: Site Maintenance Assistant

Reports to: Estate Maintenance Manager

Rate of Pay: £7.50 / £8 per hour (dependant on experience)

Hours: 8am – 5pm for 5 days a week, including alternate weekends. Overtime as required.

Contract: Full time, following successful completion of a 3 month probationary period

Place of Work: Cotswold Farm Park, Guiting Power, Cheltenham, Glos. GL54 5UG

Purpose of the Post

To assist with the day to day upkeep of play equipment, buildings, fixtures and fittings at Cotswold Farm Park. To deputise for the Estate Maintenance Manager in their absence by providing Site Duty Services.

Main Responsibilities

·  To be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of all ground care requirements within the Cotswold Farm Park and in wider areas as required. To maintain excellent standards of site presentation including:

o  Mowing, strimming, weeding and spraying

o  Organising mowing schedule

o  Organising staff to assist with mowing schedule

o  Groundcare machinery maintenance

o  Ensuring safe operation and use of appropriate PPE as required.

·  Undertaking wide range of preventative and reactive maintenance requests at Cotswold Farm Park, to include:

o  Managing the repair reporting system to prioritise work

o  Clearing down-pipes and drains, minor structural repairs to brickwork and roofs.

o  Basic maintenance involving electrics, plumbing, plastering, painting, brickwork, carpentry and joinery, erecting shelving, changing light bulbs and tubes etc.

o  Compiling stock order lists for routine and project works and communicating these to the Estate Maintenance Manager

o  Liaising with department managers to plan and undertake routine maintenance

·  Organise water movement and monitor water levels. Ensure water meter readings are taken and logged correctly. Liaise with Farm staff over water requirements for the Farm Park.

·  Ensure Pest control procedures are correctly undertaken at the farm park and across the wider estate. To include:

o  Routine topping up and monitoring of bait stations

o  Ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed and available for inspection

o  Liaising with the Estate Maintenance Manager or External Contractors for guidance and additional assistance where required.

·  Providing Site Duty Supervision in the absence of the Estate Maintenance Manager as follows:

o  Oversee the cleaning team, and ensure cleaning is undertaken to the required standards and in accordance with the cleaning schedule.

o  React to situations as they arise, to prioritise workloads and tasks and undertake repairs to ensure high standards of customer service and safety at all times.

o  Undertake basic emergency response work, and escalate to external contractors or public utility companies in the instance of major breakdown repairs. (e.g. electrical problems)

o  Keep the site Duty Manager informed of works affecting visitor attractions or services, or those disrupting normal routines.

o  Remain contactable and available to assist site Duty Manager as required.

·  Keep up-to-date with alterations and additions to locations of services and control points, e.g. fuse boxes, stopcocks, cable and water runs.

·  Assists with maintenance work on the wider farm and estate as required

·  Assists with the maintenance and operation of the site’s back-up generators

·  Collect materials from suppliers

·  Complies with Health & Safety Regulations and site procedures.
