  • FHC employees and their families world-wide;
  • Immediate family members of our customers, vendors, and industry partners;
  • Residents of communities surrounding Bowdoin, Maine; Greenville, Pennsylvania; Bucharest, Romania; Medellín, Colombia; and now, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Scholarship Details: For the fall 2017 term, the Foundation will distribute a total of at least $12,000 in scholarshipsin the amounts of $500 or $1000. Qualified recipients will have demonstrated their understanding of the value of education towards their personal goals and to help support their local community. An applicant must be enrolled in a degree program at a recognized institution of higher learning and be willing to provide all of the application materials outlined below to be considered.

We are proud to announce The Brian Carter Memorial Scholarship. This is an additional opportunity for a single $500 grant. This grant was donated by an FHCer and is intended to be presented to a deserving student pursuing post high school studies in at least one of the following areas: photography, machine tool techniques, conservation/ wildlife studies, music or aviation. The scholarship honors the memory and life interests of longtimeFHCer, Brian Carter. This grant will be judged separately and awarded to a single recipient who is also eligible to receive a CEF grant.

Scholarships for the fall 2017 term are based on academic standing and financial need, as well as content and presentation of the required essays. References maybe verified when needed. While these awards are grant based, the Scholarship Committee expects recipients to give back to their communities in the future, either in a monetary capacity or by donating their time to support a positive environment in their community. Funds will be awarded directly to the student, ensuring that they will be tax-free and can be excluded from calculations involving any other student scholarship awards. Funds maybe used for school expenses such as books, housing, travel, etc.

Due to the increased number of applications received, our application review board will be selective. Therefore, please make sure you have all of your application materials submitted before the deadline. Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
